  2. Almost 62 years old and 40 years experience with different flight simulators, I play DCS since more a decade and appreciate the huge work behind. Thank you for the great work, you make my day! It's an incredible progress since I flew the Gunship from Microprose to the real simulation DCS present us. Enough of the warm words...;-) As a flight enthusiast I watch any videos of Apache helicopters I can find: Either I am to stupid, bloody unexperienced or both..... but when flying the Apache, there was - and still is a clear difference how accurate a real Apache pilot in a real Apache can control the "thing" and me in DCS. Yes, I am very aware to be not a real pilot but my skill is not so bad as the actual spongy flight behaviour when hovering, make slightly or sharp corrections during landings/starts, hard braking from flight to hover, landings exact were you want to go...and not beside. I am looking forward to the next updates.
  3. I confirm the same behavior after the update. Especial when a bit faster decrasing of speed occurs, the heli tends to get quite unstable in yaw axis.
  4. Today I start my first tests with the Apache at the new Afghanistan map in a SP mission. I came to a stable hover with the Apache, then I move some hundred meters away and lowered altitude closer to the ground (30ft), than it was impossible to hover. The heli started to decrease altitude, no chance to catch up with more collective and there is even no ground effect detectable. Yes - I know it's very depending from load, temperature and pressure but it could not be a stable hover here and no stable hover there. It happend in a small area. Not kilometers away at another point. Main difference between both hober points were the height. ( @ 500ft stable, @ 30ft unstable). Bug or physics?
  5. Ich kann die hier geäußerte Kritik am Flugverhalten des Apache nicht nachvollziehen. Es ist mein erster Helikopter in DCS, aber vielleicht sehe ich das gerade deshalb entspannter. Auch meine ersten zig Starts endeten sofort in einem Crash. Durch Übung und Feintuning beim Einstellen der für mich optimalen Kurve der Pedale und Joystick, fliege ich den Apache mittlerweile sehr sicher. Kontrollierte Starts und Landungen sowie hovern sind kein Problem. Das Flugmodell finde ich persönlich sehr gut und der Heli reagiert so realistisch träge bzw. agil wie in real Apache-Videos auf YouTube zu sehen. Vielleicht seid ihr nur zu ungeduldig mit Euch selbst. Üben, üben, üben und ausprobieren.
  6. "It's written in black and white.." be careful with such statement. By the way - we are still waiting since years for the long promised and announced ME-262 in different newsletters. So far - so bad. There are later always explanations why things or timelines has changed. To come back to the orign topic of this post: Yes, the AI in DCS sucks quite a lot. I am neither a noob nor a flamer but a realist. Flying the BF-109 against AI to practise your skill, there is no chance against a Spit starting on an equal hight: The AI Spit climb or dive after me without a problem and got radar (look through clouds). So basic flight manoeuvres b+z...t+b are good for nothing. Another bad thing is that in my 1+2 vs. 3 scenarios sometimes all AI enemies are chasing only me during the AI team members enjoy the view around or suddenly start to attack my opponent instead one of the two on my six. I hope they improve some of this soon.

  8. Start from the ground; - MASTER ARM ON; - A/G ON; - WEDL twice; - Sensor on the Left DDI; - Uncaged; No video screen!! Starting from air: - MASTER ARM ON; - A/G ON; - WEDL twice; (- Video screen appears) - Sensor on the Left DDI; - Uncaged; No TDC slew possible (but slewing works on radar TDI screen) - TDC Depress possible but WE still crossed out..cant release weapon :-(
  9. Solved SOLVED Thank you dudes, this hint did work. It was my failure. (Does they change the displayed fuel information since march? Anyway, it works.) :thumbup:

Sorry, forget the external tanks: The problem is - anyhow and anyway I can not start from cold and dark because the main fuel tanks are empty from the beginning of every mission which requires c&d starts. No matter if mission is sp or mp. (I did not mean any refueling after landing.) I command the ground crew to fill it up, I cleared the load to 0% and back to 100% but nothing helped. So up to now I am still lookinf for a solution.:helpsmilie:

Maybe not a bug, maybe my failure but I didn't find a hint how to solve this problem: Since a week, every time when I start a SP or MP mission from the ground with C&D status, the fuel tanks of the F-18 are completly empty. (Even if I have external tanks.) The refueling request to the ground crew are accepted and also verified everytime - but the tanks are still empty, so I have yet no chance to make a cold start :cry: Thanks for help in advance.

  13. Hello together, the position lights switch functionality flash/steady has changed vice versa after update. Not a big bug but it was correct before.:music_whistling:
  14. When I overshoot the runway and came with the F14 to a hold in the grass, it was not possible to get out of there. Even with full afterburner the F14 was sticking in the grass.:pilotfly:
