  1. Technically my screen is always set @ 120Hz. It could go up to 144Hz but I would loose some bit of info color wise. So, I settled @ 120Hz. I previously capped my fps @ 60 when using my 3080ti (but kept my monitor refresh rate @ 120Hz). I tried 90 but couldn't sustain this framerate 100% of the time. Now, with the 4090, I can see rock solid 90 fps (when capped at this setting) but moving my head quickly is not what I was expecting. I'm confident that your tips about G-Sync and Vertical Sync might be the issue here. Will keep you posted. Thank's again @SharpeXB, DCS has an amazing community.
  2. DCS is already Full Screen and my power management mode is done with QuickCPPU as I've unparked all my cores (and experienced noticeable improvements). "Low latency mode" hasn't been changed so far. I may try this one and see how it goes. I guess the refresh rate of TrackIR is fixed, correct ? There's no way to change it I suppose. Anyway thank's @SharpeXB for your additionnal tips. I'll try later on.
  3. Thank you @Tzigy and @SharpeXB, I will try to implement theses changes and come back to you asap. But, do you have any idea why my experience was smooth before on my 3080ti with these previous settings ? I try to make sense of it on a technical level.
  4. Hello all, I recently purchased a used 4090 (Gigabyte Gaming OC) that runs really well. Before that I was using a trusty 3080ti. I'm on a 3840x1600 G-Sync 120Hz Alienware monitor and an Intel 13700K. In order to have a buttery smooth experience in DCS, specially when turning my head quickly, I was using the following settings : V-Sync activated in DCS (not in NVC) 60 fps cap in NVCP G-Sync activated in NVCP Many others settings (MSAA x4, etc..) that should not be relevant to my question. Since I've installed my 4090, turning my head quickly became kinda choppy/teary using the same settings compared to my 3080ti. That was a big surprise for me considering that this card is way more powerful than the previous one. What am I missing here guys ?
  5. Hi DCSimmers, as the title says I'm experiencing issues with my recordings in DCS. The output file can never be as smooth as my in game experience. There are frames dropped, intermittent stuttering, lagging issues. It can be good for 2-3 minutes and then slightly stuttery and back to normal, repeat... Nothing I can use to create content for DCS. I've spent (6+) hours tinkering with all the settings you can possibly imagine. Last resort for me, trying to find help on this forum. My PC Specs : - Alienware AW3821DW 37.5" WQHD+ (3840x1600) - ROG_STRIX_Z790-E_GAMING_WIFI - i7-13700K - 64Go of RAM - ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti O12G GAMING - Windows 10 Pro - DCS drive is an NVMe M.2 as the drive I record my OBS files on. My CPU Cores are unparked (noticed a real gain in performance in MT DCS after that) with QuickCPU. Winwing Orion 2 + Ursa Minor + Track IR 5 As I don't have the biggest GPU I've capped my frame rate to 60 in DCS (and/or NVidia Settings) and it's been running really smooth (even on MP servers). As I've said above, I tried tinkering with a lot of settings in DCS, OBS and NVidia Control panel. Here are my global settings at the end of the post. As I have a G-Sync Monitor I've noticed that VSync doesn't seem to add a lot to the smoothness to my ingame experience (maybe a little bit less tearing on rapid head movements, but not much). I tried disabling G-Sync and went for "fixed refresh rate" but had to activate VSync to get a proper ingame experience. But my recording remained choppy/stuttery. I tried VSync both in DCS and NVidia Settings. I tried Frame Rate capping both in DCS and NVidia Settings. I tried every possible combinaison of OBS Settings you can possibly imagine (CBR, CQP, you mane it...). Sometimes the result is awfull both in game and for OBS recordings, sometimes its better and I'm back to a normal ingame experience, but in the end OBS Recordings are always stuttery/choppy. No matter what. Same thing happens with NVidia ShadowPlay as well. There must be something I didn't try and you can help me with. Also, I'm planning to find a second hand RTX 4090, do you think that it can improve of fix this kind of issue ?
  6. Thank's Nedum for your answer. Strangely this bug seems quite old, I thought it would've been dealt with already.
  7. Hi everyone, going back to DCS after a long hiatus of 8 months and noticing an annoying change in the Viper. Before take off I was used to set my FCR tracking mode to TWS in both Nav and A-A mode. But now it seems that changing mode revert always to RWS no matter what. It's a unnecessary work load when fighting In PvP. So, is it a bug or a feature ? Greetings.
  8. Thank's Edmuss for the tip. I may try to use it at some point. Yeah, I turned the service back on, but didn't see any noticable difference when it was off. Thank you all for your feedbacks.
  9. Jurinko, I noticed that since I stopped the power service my screen doesn't shut down automatically after 10 min of idle like it used to. Do you have this same problem ?
  10. Hello Art-J, that is a very fair point. It is, indeed, the first dial I will turn down if I need extra FPS, and then maybe the cockpit illumination as well like you suggested. But for now the right "feeling" is back when playing, so I think I may have reached the sweet spot. Thank's for your answer
  11. Jurinko, I have followed your advices : - SSLR, SSAA, SSAO : OFF - shadows high, terrain shadows default - Power service : OFF and things got way better. I kept MSAA X4, cockpit illumination ON though. Just tried removing the tiny bit needed. FPS increased to around 100ish. But it still lacked the "butter smooth" feeling I needed, specialy when I turn my head quickly. I followed the advice from another thread and capped the FPS of DCS to 60. My monitor is currently running @ 120Hz. And now, it feels really smooth with quite high graphics settings. In case it can help someone in the future...
  12. Thank's Jurinko for your answer. So, according to you, what am experiencing is normal considering my actual settings ?
  13. Hello All, I recently purchased a new GPU (ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 3080 Ti O12G GAMING) and a new monitor (Alienware AW3821DW - 3840x1600 - GSync 144Hz). The rest of the configuration is a little older : CPU : Intel Core i7-8700K Mobo : Asus MAXIMUS X HERO RAM : G-Skill Ripjaws V F4-3200C14D-32GVK Obviously, most of my games are running smoothly maxed out but, of course, it's a different story when it comes to DCS. DCS is installed on a M.2 SSD (Samsung 980 PRO - 1 To) My current settings and my Nvidia Control Panel Setting, see attached files. My question is : what kind of performance (smoothness, fps) should I except from my configuration (big GPU but big monitor) ? Am currently reaching 40+ fps with theses settings. And it's kinda choppy sometimes as well. I wonder how I could improve things and if it's normal with my current settings - which I suspect is the case because MSAA x4 + SSA x1.5 is a lot to ask for a 3840x1600 monitor. I've seen here and there, on this forum, a few tweaks that I'm planning to implement (like Power service off, and many other little experiment) but I want to make sure that am experiencing the same problems others have with my configuration - which is supposed to be above average. Thank's in advance for your answers.
  14. Yup, precisely. Happened again yesterday on the stable version. Should I report this as a bug ? Should I provide a track ? I've tried messing with the feed switches (center on override and wings on off) but it didn't solve the problem.
  15. Yup, precisely, I jettison my center tank when it's empty but for some reason the way it drains on the second flight is different from the first, without changing any setting in the plane.
  16. Couldn't find any post related to this issue. I've noticed some strange behaviour when it comes to external tanks emptying. PvP Server on Stable version : - First take off with one centerline ext. tank. - Centerline is emptying first so I can jettison it and go about my mission with full internal fuel. - I land, refuel, new centerline tank. - Second take off and I noticed that centerline AND internal are emptying at the same time, hence making it impossible to jettison my centerline as it's never totally empty. Happened all the time after the first landing (about 5 or 6 flights total). Got shot, respawn and then back to normal behaviour (ext. tank emptying first), land again, refuel, new tank, and problem again. I haven't messed with feed switches. I know that am not supposed to jettison my ext. tanks IRL, but in game, I do it a lot on PvP servers and I would expect the plane to behave consistently without having to respawn. Is that a (known) bug ? EDIT : Most of the time when I drop/jettison my tank and get a new one on refuel/rearm the bird is consistent and the tank is emptying first. I've noticed this new strange behaviour yesterday. Playing on the Full Out War Stable server of 4YA.
  17. Ah okay, receiving other jammers signals, now I understand better. Thank's man.
  18. Thank's man, but, what is the point of only "receiving" ? What does it mean and do ?
  19. Can someone explain me the difference between REC and XMIT. When to use them and why ?
  20. Thank's man, so that's a feature not a bug. I would delete this topic if I could.
  21. As it turns out, it seems that's a feature due to jammers...
  22. Since last update radar behaviour seems a little bit odd. Here is the deal : - Multiplayer Server. - RWS + 4 Bars + 140° sweep + Radar range 80 Nm. - STT on a contact @ 30-40 Nm. - When STTing the radar range changes to 160Nm and the target is said to be 99+Nm from me (no launch cue). - After a few attempts (between 2 and 4) I manage to lock the same target but with correct range and infos into the HUD and finally a launching cue. Happened many times yesterday and today. Quite unusable on an MP server. When you finally manage to have correct parameters to shoot, the bandit is already close and shooting at you. Something is very broken here.
  23. Here is how I did it, the complete playlist :
  24. Here are my actual settings for DCS :
