  1. I’m honestly not trolling anyone here. Being trolled - that’s very likely. I appreciate your input sir! Moving on.
  2. The strategy is, to unite all supporters of the MiG-25, see how everyone can contribute - from a vote to doing something specific, gather what’s available and find what is not classified, and in the meantime see what developer may be willing to pick up the project with its community and all data. If we get a solid mod - that’s great, a certified by ED module - even better, but bottom line, the community support should be visible and acknowledged. We are not asking the ED to make the module unless they will be willing to. Thank you sir! If Vapour Labs team resurrects - fantastic, if not - there are many talented coders and 3D designers. Let’s create some alternatives.
  3. Thank you sir! Please vote Thank you so much! I’ll definitely PM you about this.
  4. This initiative requires a group of dedicated people. We are trying to find them. Big projects very often start small. You are welcome to join, otherwise, thank you for your constructive criticism. There’s an old saying (well known in Russia), “those who want to do work-look for opportunities, those who don’t, "look for excuses”
  5. There are two MiG-25 in Monino aviation museum in Moscow. I’m sure local museum volunteers will be willing to help if it comes to access to the jet for pics and measurements. There are some original manuals on maintenance and practical aerodynamics of the MiG-25 on the Ru internet.
  6. Of course. But we shouldn’t forget that striving for a full fidelity stretches the timeline for years. Some projects never happen because of that. So the solution is to create a module and develop it in beta access. People will buy them knowing that the product is improved continuously. Otherwise we’ll end up getting jewels like MiG-21 or F-14 once every decade. That way is also not very productive for any dev team. Now, to comment myself above - I don’t mean less fidelity, maybe partial fidelity plus modeling the rest using something like CATIA simulation software, reverse engineering the flight model and systems based on what’s already available.
  7. There are plenty of examples developers chose a module out of their own preferences, both for planes and maps. Besides, some teams are small even to develop any redfor jet. There are plenty of other reasons than ROI. Also, if you only restrict yourself to low to 12km altitude level, your idea is understandable and it’s a common concept for any type of a jet, it’s just a very competitive niche. But If we talk about flying over 20km, where you can maintain up to 3000 km/h and cover long distances quick, being relatively safe from air defense of that time and most lower altitude jets, then you may have an upper hand. Not sure if anyone tried that in DCS yet. There you can intercept, zoom climb to avoid missiles, drop bombs.
  8. Totally useless plane otherwise
  9. I don’t think you can think in Russian unless you are native Russian, which I doubt It’s more like Яussian you’re talking about
  10. I see your point. Please explain how Aerges’ F-104 that they recently announced, will fit in the current lineup of the DCS Cold War jets?
  11. I don’t refuse to understand. I refuse to give up contrary to the public opinion. I’m all for full fidelity, it requires passionate enthusiasts with a proper mindset. According to you, we should abandon this idea. I suggest we do not - let’s give it some time and efforts and see how far it gets.
  12. The funny part is, it’s like as if we got 3rd party developers lined up waiting for us DCS simmers, like “come on guys, make up your mind so we can make you a cool plane” - the whole point of this thread, and particularly me advocating for the Foxbat is creating a unique module with one of a kind capabilities. This will bring more diversity among the redfor jets and be beneficial for Sinai and Syria maps and all the relevant campaigns that can be created upon. So it’s worth bringing it into DCS, and that’s something they can at least consider a bit more thoroughly than before.
  13. Yes sir! It just getting more obvious that the western DCS community is still very biased and apparently has a ton of reasons to criticize the capabilities of the MiG-25, out of all planes. Yea, like, the worst interceptor ha ha. Sure, we got some attention here. Haters will hate
  14. Still not convincing… You are pushing your rhetoric here for the sake of the argument itself… You like the Su-15? Great, your choice. Yes, the 25 was multipurpose, my typo. As for playing the victim card and phobias - your criticism is aimed at diminishing the strength of the red air defense by bringing only negative examples, has nothing to do with the Su-15. Moreover, SR-71 and U-2 stopped trying to fly over the USSR after the 25s were deployed in PVO. The 25 wouldn’t be produced in large quantities if SAMs were the only tool in Soviet air defense.
  15. With all due respect - we all know by now (*not planned*) the ED is not interested - for whatever reason, and that’s totally fine. They don’t want to deal with it during these turbulent times. But let me ask you, do you live in Russia to make all these statements about their law, government etc?
  16. I guess it’s just overall attitude I disagree with when it comes to a possibility for developing the MiG-25. Many folks are rather trying to find all cons and state that it’s not possible or not doable or anything else in that fashion. The mindset should be “even if we have a lack if info on it, what can we create with what’s available”. Clearly, I see a lot of folks objecting to the 25 rather than trying to constructively see what could be done. For anyone who is not supporting the MiG-25, support something else but quit spreading “it’s useless” vibes here. To say no to the Foxbat just because you are bored and end up in this thread is definitely not helping.
  17. A big part of the DCS is the Cold War planes lineup, red vs blue. And that’s ok because it’s a sim game. That’s what makes it so exciting to put them one against the other in the simulation in recreation of historically accurate campaigns. Flying mind-blowing high fidelity F-14 with fantastic AIM-54C doing BVR magic on any existing plane in DCS, shooting red units developed in the times of Lock-On sim, and stroking own ego - that’s not how the Cold War really went. I have most of the bluefor jets, and am fascinated how much work and passion dev teams put into them. Can only guess why redfor jets, aside from modules like MiG-21, not getting enough love and support.
  18. I do not assume, I’m absolutely sure. It’s quite myopic to assume that we’re all here bookworms or nerds. How can you even put some Viggens for comparison here? The only plane to mention here by performance is the SR-71, however the Foxbat was multi role plane. It’s just very hard to accept for some category of people that indeed the Foxbat was a bad ass interceptor, about 1200 units were made. There’s a popular trend now to diminish Soviet technological achievements in the times of Ru***phobia now, however you want to hide it, whatever you say.
  19. In real world, the pilots were instructed not to push the envelope on a regular basis, which does not mean the Foxbat was not capable to easily rip through the skies above 20km and reach Mach 2.8 Every 25 upon delivery was test flown to meet the strict performance criteria for deployment to PVO.
  20. Absolutely NOT! Please do the research why MiG-25 was created, primarily to counter the XB-70, also how many absolute world records were set by Ye-166. Besides, MiG-25 was capable of intercepting and even locking on the SR-71. Come on!!
  21. Ok, but what is so radical about the Su-15TM? The 25 is a revolutionary aircraft IMO. Phantoms and Mirages over Sinai couldn’t even get to the Foxbat.
  22. I see your point. I think the REDFOR inventory needs some fresh additions. For example, BLUEFOR have F-4E on the way, F-100 and 104 in the works… if we get the 25 AND 17/22 or 27, that will check a lot of boxes for sure. It all depends on a specific third party developer preferences based on their resources. But all in all, I think MiG-25 as a high speed/altitude interceptor with R-40 missiles maybe a very special project, considering that now at least we have 19 and 21 capable of working at low altitudes. As well as Su-25, which does need an overhaul.
  23. There are plenty of ground pounders in DCS now to the point that the concept is getting boring. We need something new and special. Considering the choice (historical relevance) and fidelity of the existing DCS modules, for the DCS core concept - MiG-25 represents a true technological breakthrough of its time and earned its place in the best of the world combat simulators. The redfor community doesn’t just need another whatever red plane, but needs what truly made the difference in aviation history. Neither MiG-23 nor 27 were as crucial as the MiG-25. It’s not all about the ground pounders, let’s be fair.
