I followed this video And I copied it there exactly at the time where it shows the code that he entered; this is flight control. The way he had it, they would automatically spawn and then go after the detected object. But I'll try adding the zone also. But yeah, what I have above is from following the tutorial video exactly, step by step. That's why I'm so frustrated, I can't even get a single line of code to work properly

Using DCS 2.5 I created a simple mission with just a blue base, and in notepad++ I put the following A2A_GCICAP_Blue = AI_A2A_GCICAP:New( "BLUE EWR", "Blue Squadron" ) I named my EWR source Blue EWR and placed two single planes with late activation named Blue Squadron and Blue Squadron #001 I set up a single trigger that loads moose.lua first and after loads my missiontest.lua with the above code. I cross the line in my plane and upon crossing, my RWR lights up and nothing spawns, just nothing happens. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, it's killing me and I'm frustrated beyond belief. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

haha yes thanks, the thing is, all of the radio gear is in the tail and the antennas for it, so turning the knobs was getting me nowhere. But yesss, I have loved playing with realistic radio, it's the only way I play at all. I heard some people saying all the radio frequencies for every airfield were the same, but in my experience, they're each different. I use the cheatsheet on the left hand side of the cockpit to know where to tune it to. I find the generic frequency only works on farps who have no set location of their own. Was that an old thing, where it was like that? Like I get into a mission and usually 124 is to talk to my wingman and 127.5 is for generic farps. Meanwhile each major airfield, batumi, soki etc each have their own unique one - 133, 139 etc And not only that but if I remember correctly, when you're in flight and want to talk to a tower, do you need to also turn the knob to a different setting or is that on the ground? But yeah, then on the ground, when I'm too lazy to shut off my engine and open my door to yell at the ground crew - I use the ground crew selector on the knob with the intercom enabled. And that's good advice about the laser, but I was also curious, does it burn out when being used for range designating? Since you're only really using it for target designation when you use the KH25's, I was curious if this wears on it less. Trying to contain so much new information in the past week has been tough haha

You know what? I think that's it. I don't know what line equipment is, I just kept parking near where the Mil automatically lands each time. But I've flown it from beginning to end so many times i think I will just look in the editor. And yeah I've been playing it in 2.5, but the failure didn't seem to imply broken so much as me just not understanding where to park despite many many tries haha

Has anyone tried this one? I find myself stuck on the first mission, which has the simple requirement of flying from one airbase to Batumi and parking in the SE of the airfield near the line equipment. Now I'm pretty sure I've done all of that, I even do all the radio calls to leave and when arriving at Batumi, but I keep being told mission failure after I finish. Has anyone done this campaign or know what I might be doing wrong?

I'm looking for a squadron to join. I've only played in VR so far and I can pilot the Ka-50, Su-25t, Su-33, Su-27. The su-33 is by far my favorite, but I'm equally comfortable in all of them. I'm interested in both co-op vs AI and pvp, so if any squadron would have me, I'd be much obliged. Thanks, fergrim

If anyone happens to need an alternate, I'd love to participate in this, but am not yet with a squadron. :)

Please add height callout in Ka-50 for slingloading

As long as it has all of the contact requirements usual to speaking to ground crew, ie properly set radio/intercom, only functioning at friendly military owned airfields, being dependent on asset availability etc sounds fine -
much I trimmed, and burning fuel crazy fast. Is it possible starting it wrong can do that? I figured I'd take it in for a landing and try to start it from cold again so I fly the 30KM back to base, determined to beat this campaign mission.. So I hop out, describe my problem to the ground crew. They take a quick look at it and know instantly what my problem was; 'Well there's your problem right there!' *gestures towards where the rear third of the aircraft used to be* And in my current...light weight configuration, I get 0 options except for 12. Exit when I hit the radio button. Is there any other way to request repairs? Does the missing tail section not imply my request?

So it's like... "I demand the most realistic sim possible! .... But can I please get some mods to make it better?" I, for one, would like betty to call out "Ohhhhhh nooo" or "WATCH OUT" randomly and for no particular reason - to simulate the adrenaline rush and the challenge I get from my mom being in the passenger seat in mid panic attack. -
I've found it makes a noticeable difference. Have you tried waiting to turn on your ECM until you get your first RWR contact from the SAM in question? And you never said how you're running your tests, are you testing it the same way every time? At what altitude, at what speed, at what angle to the SAM? Are you flying low and slow directly over it? Are you flying high and fast with full burners? Do you have a full loadout, including all the external hardpoints filled, or are they empty? And against what kind of SAM? Do they have AWACS in the maps where you've tested it? Also both of the aircraft you mention, well neither one is stealth by any means, and especially the Su-25t has an enormous radar cross section when fully loaded with missiles and rockets hanging all over its exterior. I wouldn't imagine a single jammer would have the kind of enormous effect you seem to be expecting.

I don't understand the difference in FEEL between SFM and PFM
fergrim replied to fergrim's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
I'll say it a million times too, the Su-33 is my favorite aircraft bar none. I've fallen deeply in love with it haha and I sort of dig the idea of trying out its competition for carrier space. And yes, the 'arcade' word is what I'm most anxious about. It's like reading a classic book, if I'm going to be spending time reading I'd like to also be becoming cultured while I do it. And basically my main concern about the mig 29s would be that it's not accurate. I've heard people say that it uses the same equipment as the Su-27 and I wasn't sure if that was because that's what it does in real life or if it was a matter of 're-using assets' But if it's accurate, I would like to try it I think And thanks guy, this is helping. Zhuko, that makes sense, does that mean that its landing isn't very realistic? I've recently been falling in love over and over again with the Ka-50 blackshark so I guess it has me nervous to try even though the aircraft is one that has always interested me. -

oooh interesting suggestion, I just might check that out. Does the Mig21bis carry A2A missiles or is it just cannons? And yeah at this point actually the remaining FC modules would cost me the same if I purchased them all separately as the entire package would. I'm missing 4, at 10 bucks each, 40. So either way it'll come out the same for me. And yeah I've been looking at the F-5e, the Mig21bis and the Viggen So far I'd say my favorite aircraft, bar none, is the Su-33. I like that it's complex, with strong advantages mitigated by clear shortcomings. I really enjoy putting time into mastering ones that are like a 'diamond in the rough', forcing you to really put time into them for them to reveal just how good they really are. Definitely feel that with the Su-33 and the Blackshark. -
I know i'm obnoxious for saying this and I know it's besides the point, so please forgive my OCD, I struggle with the mental illness. It's *tide* not *tie* 'us over'. Thank you and I'm sorry.

Right now I own the Su-27, Su-33, F15c and Ka-50 Blackshark. Now I get the difference between the blackshark and the others in terms of control complexity, but here I am trying to decide if I should just get the rest of the Flaming Cliffs pack because I have a love for migs.. However I'm aware that the Mig 29 currently has the least sophisticated flight model of all the aforementioned aircraft and I'm just wondering when it comes to firsthand experience of flying the thing, just how different does it feel? I'm just not sure how heavily I should count the SFM against it when making a purchasing decision.
