  1. With the Vive I found that to flip switches in the opposite direction you turn the controller upside down were the laser line is blue instead of green and clicking a button with push it the other way.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. There is already a pilot body there. Do you not see it when you free look? I know I see it... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Is that a landing gear controller for A-10 ? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I for one would not want to use VR controllers. Virtually holding a stick doesn’t seem like I’d get the feedback that I’d need for aiming, but that’s just me. Since the Vive already has IPD built in I don’t use the one in DCS, although the Vive one is not as accurate as the one in DCS World. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. What kind of Chair is that? Are all those attachment points made into the chair? I like it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Interesting. Is that in lue of using a trackball or mouse? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I got into DCS because of the difficulty and realism of flying Combat Aircraft. I bought the A-10C as my first purchase in DCS and was looking forward to learning all the ins and outs of it. While I still enjoy the experience it gives “especially in VR” I know I have so much more to learn about it. I’ve only had the Hawg for a few months so yeah there’s lots to learn still but I guess my biggest issues are still finding targets and I jump from TGP /to the TAD, possibly MAV and I know I’m totally doing it wrong and have watch many videos in YouTube on the A10. It’s hard and I like it but then again....ITS HARD! I still need to find what method works best for me and stick with that. I guess I’m still in the trial and error phase of learning. 8. It kind of sounds like you want the new bells and whistles of an OpenBeta but the stability of Stable. You can’t have both. Sounds like you just need to stick with the Stable install and maybe if you have enough hard drive space install a separate DCS for just OpenBeta. Just a thought. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Well the fact that you could look at a location and designate that as SPI would in fact make it much easier than slewing the SPI with a tiny mouse ball. If I look out my left or right window I can’t determine where the SPI is as that point and that’s really what I’m getting to. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Actually I think the Hornet model will have something similar. Would be cool if they could port that over to the A-10C Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Oh how I’d love to have a HMIT feature in DCS. Would make finding targets much much easier Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I wanted to share my experience with trying to use an external mic with my HTC Vive through the use of the extra USB port on the HMD. I bought the USB extender cable and plugged it in to the extra USB port, then plugged in a lapel mic to the extender cable. I turned SteamVR on and expected the mic to work...but alas it did not. I check all kinds OS settings and BIOS settings for USB support but it still did not change the fact that it did not work. I had been using the SteamVR Beta for a long time and wondered if it was because of that. I switched from SteamVR Beta to the stable SteamVR and WALLA!!! It started working. I never would have though in a million years that that would be the problem. So just sharing in case some else has this issue. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. What an awesome video. Thanks for sharing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So after receiving my Samsung Odyssey and doing some testing with it I realized that the higher eye resolution didn’t make much of a difference in DCS at all. The results were very similar. Noticeable differences were that the halo strap on the Odyssey was a little more comfortable than the Vive w/deluxe audio strap but I kept having to pull the whole unit down because the ear muffs didn’t reach my ears oddly. Had no issue with this on in the Vive. While the Odyssey seems lighter in weight it also feels cheap and poorly made. I did not like the ipd adjustment wheel but I did like the volume control on the headset. So I return the Odyssey and will stick with the Vive until they really make some headway with that screendoor effect. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Just discovered the SteamVR setting “Application Resolution Adjustment”. I currently have mine set to 200%. Does anyone else have theirs set higher? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Cool thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Please remind me what the TVV is? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. It’s a bad choice to try and improve resolution like that, especially when its not going to, just only going to reduces the jaggedness I think. Anyway I bought a Samsung Odyssey so we’ll see if the increased resolution is going to do it for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Just bought a Samsung Odyssey from BestBuy. I get it on Saturday...if I like it and it works better than the Vive its off to eBay for the Vive. Don’t like the fact that HTC is charging $800 for the Vive Pro....I think this will kill them unless they lower the price tag. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. HUD Ladder seems off center I was not aware that the HUD would drift based on wind direction. Good to know. I always thought there was something wrong with my VR positioning. Now I know Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Is it me or is the HUD ladder for the A10C off just a bit? Whenever I’m flying and turning the HUD ladder seems to float off to one side or the other. Is this normal, has anyone else had this issue? I don’t have a screenshot sorry.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. It’s not sniveling. It’s called a discussion, it’s a forum for such things. If your going to be negative then why reply at all when you obviously have better things to do like print out a manual. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. One thing that is a bit annoying is when in VR trying to turn and select a switch with the mouse sometimes is a bigger challenge than it needs to be. Like trying to set ILS freq and stuff over in that area. if your not leaning in far enough the mouse point only moves so far and at some point you have to lean more to get the mouse to be able to reach the switch/dial etc... Any tips you VR PROs have for that is much appriciated Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Oh I totally agree and certainly enjoy the VR aspect over the typical 2D version but trying to learn was a bigger challenge for me personally. I did employ the VR Zoom for in cockpit views of instruments but never wanted to use it for external zooming as I really want the full immersive experience. Going so far as to utilize VoiceAttack with VAICOM Pro “another thing that I have to learn” but it really helps. I don’t plan on staying away from VR but I find myself switching back and forth when trying to learn a particular task so I can pause and read the guide....rinse and repeat... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Not sure I agree as I have an HTC Vive and was sucked into DCS World due to its immersion in VR mode, but as being a new player and love the A-10 module I had a hard time trying to learn it while in VR as reading left or right console panels was a challenge as well as the smallish lettering on the HUD. So much so that I actually decided to go and buy a TrackIR so that I could learn the A-10 and maybe at some point when I’m more familiar with its systems and what are the switch’s and dials are/do switch back to VR mode. So TrackIR is not for the dumpster imho it does have a place still in DCS World or any other game for that matter, even if you own a VR HMD. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
