  1. MBot they would attack from great height at supersonic speeds diving on Harrier pilots at low altitude, they even got first AAM shot off, I think they knew a thing or two about A2A combat, afterall why would you fly in a fighter and not be trained in A2A ACM?. http://www.mw.ua/3000/3150/32700/
  2. The Mirage's were armed with Matra R-530 SRIRM. Dagger's were armed with AAM but I'm not sure which type. http://www.mw.ua/3000/3150/32700/
  3. So when they were caught and firmly in the Harriers WEZ would you not agree that the Dagger and Mirage pilots would of fought for their lives considering that most engagements proved fatal for the Argy pilot or do you think they just flew on ignoring the Harriers?.
  4. OK let me get this right MBot you're saying that all those Dagger's and Mirages that were shot down in that list by AIM-9L suicidally flew straight at the Harriers to within SRIRM carrying bombs only?.
  5. http://www.naval-history.net/F64argaircraftlost.htm mind explaining how they got to within the killzone of a SRIRM if the Dagger pilots were not up for the fight?.. or did they just fly straight at the Harriers in a suicidial type of manner?. At anytime the supersonic Dagger pilots could out accelerate and out pace the sub sonic Harrier but they didn't, why? because they were enaged with them in A2A combat that's why, the dagger pilots even flew down from high altitude to engage the Harriers.
  6. MBot all the Daggers that were shot down were shot down whilst engaging the Harriers in A2A combat, honestly it's true I've read pilots accounts of combat over the Falklands, if they're only carrying bombs why would they engage the Harriers?, they had a critical advantage over the Harrier which is speed they could always run if they needed to but no many Dagger pilots decided to stay and fight because they simply beleived the Harrier was a turkey shoot.
  7. Ethereal the Dagger is classified as a multirole fighter, multirole yes, but it is pre-dominantly a fighter.
  8. Mbot here's the list of kills http://users.accesscomm.ca/magnusfamily/falkgb.htm . There was alot more then 1 Dagger kill too. Still the fact remains that the Harrier shot down multiple Daggers that were engaging the Harrier in A2A combat and lost. :D
  9. I thought the Harrier scored alot more Mirage kills than 1.5?.
  10. Can't blame them if I was getting served a can of whoop arse in my interceptor I'd stay well clear of them too. 23-0 speaks for itself, the reason the Argies avoided A2A was because they thought the British was going to invade the mainland so they moved all fighters north to protect argentina the other reason was because they thought the SAM's they had on the Falklands was more than up to the job of defending the airspace against the British. Word it how one wants but the fact remains the Harrier shot down capable dedicated A2A platforms.
  11. The A2A kill ratio of the Harrier in the Argie conflict was 23-0, that's 23-0 against mainly dedicated A2A platforms, considering the Harrier carries A2A missiles I fail to see the exception!, when VIFF'ing Harriers are rumoured to be surprisingly very agile at low altitude.
  12. L4 the T-10 is beautiful but I can understand why some peeps don't dig the twin cockpit thing. Aesthetics aside, the Harrier is an awesome weapons platform that has more than proved itself as a viable weapons platform in A2A/A2G, sure it doesn't look very aerodynamic but rumour has it that low down in the weeds where the Harrier's performance envelope is optimal combined with VIFF'ing it's a complete bastard to shoot down as many Argie pilots in dedicated A2A platforms found out to their horror.
  13. Harrier ugly? wtf!!, have you ever seen a Harrier flying low and fast through Cad west? impressive yes, ugly no. Beautiful aircraft especially the T-10.
  14. Apologies for reviving this thread but it would be nice to get an answer regarding AWACS logic from any memeber of the ED team. Thanks.
  15. Tears of the Sun. (Best modern war flick IMO) Bridge on the River Kwai. Inglorious Bastards. The Deer hunter. Paths of glory.

Wow a whole post dedictaed to rep, lol it's only rep points, it's not like you can go down the pub and spend them. :D
  19. Yes. There's possibly an automatic A2A cannon sub mode/mode to the F-15C, in 1982 an F-15B shot down an F-102 drone during the IFFC fire control integration program, the gun was fired by the central computer while the pilot manouvered onto the drone from a head on aspect at a closing speed of 800+kts.
  20. I've never seen HUD footage/pictures of an F-15 with a funnel gunsight. The diagram below is the only cannon modes I know exsist on the Eagle.
  21. I vote for realism, any realistic modification to LO's aircraft regarding avionics, flight performance and weapons should be implemented into the code by the devs, all aircraft and their associated weapons and avionics should be modelled as accurately as reasonably practical, if that made Fighter/Bomber/Heli A better than B at A2A/A2G then so be it.
  22. OK Yoda that's a relief to know. I thought Panzertard was saying that LEAVU could possibly work without export.lua being modified.
  23. Kuky it doesn't matter what files you check, IF I've understood Panzertard's post LEAVU works with a default or modified export.lua file, in Layman's terms as LO stands now it's looking like it's impossible to control LEAVU server side.
  24. :smartass:
  25. I'm not going to get in to the argument of whats morally/legally right anymore, what I'm interested in is will ED protect its customers from 3rd party exploit software like Leavu?.
