    DCS, IL2, MSFS 2020,
  1. One issue with the module is the gigantic pitch coupling to the collective. So when you lower the collective your nose pitches down rapidly. (On the other side, when you raise the collective, the nose pitches up rapidly). So when starting an autorotation, you lower the collective and the nose pitches down severely. So much so that only a very strong aft cyclic input will keep the nose level so you can build RPM back. Without a rapid pitch input you will be chasing the nose low attitude all the way to the deck. Pitch coupling of the magnitude in the sim, is not correct.
  2. A couple of other points... Any repairs that are going to effect safety of flight will be checked and signed off by a QA inspection after the Crew Chief and any other needed maintainers do the work. Firing the MG the Crew Chief could express his displeasure with the pilots by directing the ejected brass down the back of your neck. Pilots and Crew Chief worked together as a team to support the mission. There was always a mutual respect and when you worked with the same crew for a while that teams performance went way up. Oh and if I got into a helo and the windscreen looked like the one in the Gazelle here, there would be some harsh words with the Crew Chief. Respectfully of course
  3. 2 monitors, primary display is a 1440x900 and second is 1280x1024 with the two MFCDs being displayed on it. Monitors work, displays work, just cannot see multiplayer menu choices such as join, exit, create or any others (never seen them so I don't know what there are). Thanks again for any help, My Monitor lua file- And my SoftTH config
  4. Thanks, I saw that thread but did not try it yet. looks like he could see all the buttons, they were just stretched. My problem is, I think, that my main screen is shorter (900 vs 1024) than my second screen and the buttons are being rendered below where I can click or see on my main screen. (ie they are being displayed virtually in the 900 to1080 area but not where they correspond to any actual screen. if I had not already installed my TM CDUs onto the second screen I would try swapping. Guess I could also try a different monitor that is "taller". Thanks though as this is starting to get just a bit frustrating :(
  5. Remaining very frustrated. Have 2 monitors first is 1440x900 for main display, second is 1280x1024 for MCFD display. I have my config files setup correctly so I can see both MCDFs in the second monitor where I want them. However when I go to multiplayer I cannot see the menu items on the bottom (ie join, start server exit). I am using sofTH but app+s does not squash to the one screen. No ideas where to go, guess it is throw out the extra goodies for multiplayer. Thanks again, Mako
  6. Read it and tried it. No luck getting the App+S key to fix the resolution. Basically just ignores it. I guess that is due to using only 2 monitors and not three. Continue to search and not play multi.
  7. Thanks for the replies. Airdog yes I have UIMainView = Viewports.Center at the bottom. Does not work. I am using SoftTH so will read that link. Thanks
  8. Trying to see the multiplayer buttons and unable to do so. I have read this thread and tried to apply the various solutions. No luck. Using 2 monitors side by side. Displaying MFCDs in second one with no problems. No idea where to go to get the buttons to show. Thanks for the help. Mako
  9. Jet pilots often set flight director and follow the command bars. Helo pilots tend not to do that.
  10. Sounds about right, vortex ring is the rotor wash returning through the rotor system creating very high induced flow (downward air movement), while in the case of the lower rotors they have a higher induced flow of air but not as high as encountered in vortex ring. Also seems that the dual rotor system is more susceptible to vortex ring than a single rotor (on same mast) system.
  11. Fishu, Thanks for the info. 10fps would be usable but 5-6 seems a bit low. I have a 7 in touchscreen somewhere in my "pile of computer stuff" I think I am going to have to do some digging.
  12. Mid Hudson but glad to drive down.
  13. Fishu, How did you get the display on your EEE PC? I have an MSI Wind and want to do the same thing. Thanks, rmako
  14. A couple of these videos had elements of Vortex Ring State but they also had more elements of excessive sink rate while in controlled flight (mostly controlled <G>). The Blackhawk by the school into the trees, the Sea King, and the Blackhawk pranging on the ship deck were all pilot induced sink rates that did not have sufficient room to arrest descent. The Mi-8 looked like a nice Vortex Ring as he slowed and then reversed into his downwash. It is certainly something to keep aware of, and when setting your battle positions if possible make sure that you have somewhere to fly out esp in the mountains. Vortex, I did not see your early post with the std US Army vortex ring factors or I would not have put in a second set of them. All good stuff. rmako
