  1. Thanks for checking back on this! Yeah, it's an unfortunate thing with how the DCS AI decides to handle certain tasks. Good to know that it doesn't affect scores though. Looking forward to moving through the rest of the campaign
  2. Hi there! I played through the first two missions of this campaign yesterday evening and so far I love the build-up - especially the requirement of doing things by the book and as reported in the landing plates. That was a very satisfying landing One thing that I noticed is that the AI flight you are attached to decides to make rapid adjustments to their flight speeds that are impossible to replicate as a player. My first experience of this is with the first mission. Flying at FL350 at M.8 was fine. We received the call to descend to FL150 but without warning, I shot way far forward of my flight because they suddenly slowed down to M.68. As a result, I received a message from the flight lead critiquing my formation performance. I know the DCS AI in flights can be a bit unpredictable but I'm hoping there's something that can be done with the speed adjustments. Next time I run across this I'll try to get a track file out of it and post it.
  3. I haven't tested this out myself but are we sure it's *supposed* to transfer fuel from external tanks while on the ground? Other aircraft (like the Hornet for example) won't transfer from external tanks until the landing gear are up. Some like the F-4 have specific operating procedures that say not to turn on external tank transfers until you are off the ground as well to prevent accidental fuel leaks or anything like that as the tanks are pressurized.
  4. I was just going to make this post myself - looks like there's no Doc folder for this one for me at all.
  5. Going through Operation Persian Freedom at the moment and having a blast - just purchased Cerberus North to play through when I finish. Looking forward to it!
  6. The LMC (Linear Motion Compensator) button works in the game currently. It lets you hold the TADS sight on a specific point, as well as lets you "throw" the TADS in a specific direction and it maintains that motion (useful for tracking a moving a target). Wags has a good video on this works (link includes a timestamp to the specific discussion of LMC on TADS)
  7. Thanks for taking the time to review this! Makes sense to me though - wasn't sure if there was anything in the mission editor that allows for choosing how much fuel an AI unit receives. I just need to work on my rejoin speed now that I can consistently plug. Looking forward to reviewing the full campaign when I finish it - so far it's excellent
  8. Hi all - working my way through the campaign and so far having a blast. I finished my assigned tasks in Mission 4 and told Weed that we should head to the tanker before landing, as I burned up a little too much while in the mission area. I guess I should have gotten to the tanker first to avoid this issue but when we arrived, Weed plugged and then took all of the fuel from the tanker. Once he disconnected, the tanker item in the comms menu disappeared and I was no longer able to request a join/pre-contact. Amazingly, I was able to land on the carrier in my first attempt but had 500 lbs of fuel remaining by the end of it. Is there a way to limit how much fuel Weed takes to ensure the player can move on if you aren't the first to arrive at the tanker?
