Would much rather a Tornado before an F111 if I'm honest not that I dont want an F111 but it would be nice to have more variety than mainly all American air frames

Well its a very popular mach 2.2 Strike aircraft that served for nearly 4 decades with the RAF and flown by the British, Germans and Italians the latter two of witch still operate them. Alot of people want it in DCS as its a very capable strike platform and looks badass.

I am going to go against the grain here and say that you should upgrade GPU over CPU first. Up until november I was running with a 2600k (running with 9900k now) and honestly you will get more out of a better GPU DCS uses alot more VRAM these days and you will benefit from a new graphics card more than a new CPU, overclock that 2600k to 4.5 ghz (its still pretty viable in 2019 despite its age where as the 970 is getting pretty long in the tooth) and get a 2070. what resolution are you running the game at out of interest?

A heatblur tornado would be my dream come true.

There isnt an awful lot of information out there, I only started looking in to it when somebody mentioned that GR1's had the ability to carry TIALD's From the information I found it mentioned that they did not have the ability to self laze during the gulf war and that this was an upgrade that came later but before the GR4 revision. Cant find the source but will keep searching.

Wikipedia said some Tornados lazed and the photo above says it all. "Ferranti Defence Systems started development of the TIALD pod in the late 1980s. The 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and the resulting Gulf War saw the TIALD pod rushed into service. In the Gulf War several modified Panavia Tornados and some Blackburn Buccaneers laser designated for unmodified Tornados which carried LGBs. The Buccaneers carried the U.S. Pave Spike designator, which was limited to daylight use."

If you actually did that would be insane, one if the British skinning guys I am with plans on reskinning the Forrestal when it becomes available but actually having a CVA 01 would be a Whole other level. Did you manage to get down to the national Maratime museum?

That is a great mini doc. Just imagine a Tornado in DCS guys how amazing it would be. I would love a GR4 we are more likely it get a GR1 but will probably get neither which is a real shame : (

I know it would be entirely fictional and there isn't much source material but would you ever consider making the canclled CVA01? Would be a perfect mod for the upcoming Falkland map that RAZBAM are doing. Does anybody know where the fire extinguisher injection points for the engines that the ground crew would use to extinguish any engine fires at startup? Doing some finer detail to my Royal navy skin and wanted to add them.

What they did in desert storm was have one carry the TIALD Pod and laze for the other tornados carrying paveways the ability to do both at the same time wasnt added till after the war.

Everybody knows the only choice is Tornado GR4

GR1 did have a targeting pod but not the ability to carry TGP and GBU's at the same time. this is what the internet says I am by know means a Tornado expert just love the aircraft.

Its my dream module just imagine having one in DCS especially if heatblur made it. Sorry I dont mean to derail thread but how is the virpil base with the warthog? I am thinking of doing the same thing.
