Russia have the R-73. When in combat, I never rely on R 27, I only use them as decoy. I always try to get as close as possible and then lauch Archer for the win :). Also R-77 is can be very deadly, especially in close range.

R1 is an export modification of R 27R. There are rumors about upgraded versions of R 27, but so far I could find only R-27EM, which seeker could be used even against targets with very low RCS (anti-ship missiles for example.)

Well you got AIM 120 back them (and still have those). Now you got AIM 9X which is superior in allmost every aspect than R 73, not even speaking about fact that we must go with equipment from 80s against equipment from begining of 21s century . So its not that suprising that REDFOR wants some upgraded version of Archers, or perhaps upgraded Sukhois and MiGs.

You can defeat F 15 in headon situation even with R 27R. Fire it at max. range. Do barrel roll to defeat AMRAAM. Fire again. Fire Archer. Win. :) There is nice video on how to do, even though I do it little bit differently:

This info seems weird. R1 and T1 are supposed to be export variants. My sources also claim range 80km for R, and 72km for T version, but its remote range.

But it should be able to do that. There are some limitation on how much Gs can missile pull. I couldnt find good data on AIM 54 but comparable missile R 33 can pull only 3-4 G. And I doubt that 54 could be any better in this.

I would like to see Su 22 alongside with MiG 25PD. Those would be very interesting planes to fly and fight with. Also since BlUEFOR got AIM 9X, could we get some modernized Archers please :) Some modernized MiG 29 and Su 27 would be nice to be sure, but thats kinda utopic.
