I see there is a lot of campaigns for Hornet, Tomcat, Eagle etc., but very few for Red Side. Is anyone working or planning to work on campaign for MiG-29? Especially for 29S would be very welcomed.

Truth. Having AWACS on your side is always good thing, because it can guide fighter into advantageous position, while enemies had to sometimes rely only on their own eyes. There is interesting documentary about Serbian MiGs, that tells the whole story from another side:

Please, not this again. Just yesterday I had similar conversation on how "crappy" 29A is going to be, because some "clever"article on internet said so. Want better information about this topic, here you have it: https://ru.scribd.com/document/60545155/MiG-29-Midland EW is very simplified in DCS, and it will stay like it for very loooooooooong time. Radar technology is simplified as well, even on FF modules. So no problem here. As for combat use, you clearly dont know all the facts. Main reason why 29s did not do well was mainly because of bad strategy, lack of proper training and poor maintenance. Even some generals said that if both sides switched armament, the results would be same.

Yeah..... It almost looks like the imperialists doesn´t have enough toys for now. When was the last time the red side got something?! I think it was MiG-19 by RAZBAM, but since then the blue side got F-16, JF-17, Supercarrier, AIM-120 CFD rework, several new campaings etc. Its kinda annoying....
-
Exactly the same thing like MiG-21, F-5, F-86 etc. Interesting aircraft to fly with and fight with. Dont be a sissy. People like challenges and I dont think that Fulcrum will be tougher to learn than MiG-21 or F-14.
-
While I would love to see full fidelity MiG-29 in DCS, I think this is little bit premature. Its not even confirmed yet, he only said that they are looking at possibility of doing it. About R-27, Chizh wrote recently on Russian forum that ED is now working on new weapons for F-16, and R-27 CFD will be done after it.

YES!! He really said that! I really hope that one day will get FF MiG-29. I heard that recently RuAF had replaced all its MiG-29 units with Su-30s, so that could open a way to more modern variant, but even if not, old 29A will be more that sufficient :).
-
I didnt heard that too. However according to Stormbirds, he really said that: https://stormbirds.blog/2020/08/01/grim-reapers-qa-with-eagle-dynamics-reveals-future-details-for-dcs/So I quess its true :dunno:

Kinda hope that they will update that ugly AI model much sooner. Also damage model could get some tweaking.

You are underestimating Adder. AA-12A (Or R-77, the variant that we have in game) should be comparable with A/B AMRAAM. It have stated max. range about 80-100 km, while B AMRAAM have 50-70km. AA-12B(Or R-77-1) is new variant that came into service in 2011. It have stated max. range about 110km, so its more comparable to C-5 AMRAAM with range 105 km. Problem is that only fighters that are supposedly capable to carry this missile are Su-27SM3, Su-35S, MiG-31BM, Su-34, Su-30SM and Su-57. Sadly none of those are in game (except for Su-34, which is AI only).

+1 Seriously early Cold War is very poorly represented in this sim. It would be great if there would be some Cold war assets pack, where you would have planes like B-29, Tu-4, IL-28, Canberra, Mystère, Hunter etc.
-
That and dont forget about F-100, F-104, F-105, MiG-17, Su-7, IL-28, Canberra, early MiG-21 variants, Mirage III, Mystère etc. etc. Damn we would need a whole new assets pack for that :D
-
Iraq, Korea, Vietnam sounds good, but I want Central Europe! That would be awesome map. Ideal for Cold war and late ww2 scenarios
-
Quite a lot. It have new navigation/gunnery complex PrNK-25SM Bars (which should have more precise navigation and more automatization in searching and tracking targets), new L150 Pastel RWR, new HUD and two MFDs, MSP-410 Omul jammer, bigger payload, additional pylons and R-73 missiles. Also It can carry laser-guided KAB-500ML bombs.

+1 Seriously I would like to see planes like Yak 141, MiG-29M and Su-25SM in DCS. Especialy Su-25SM would be great addition for upcoming Syria map. I dont mind FC3 level, Its still better than nothing. Also older planes like Su-17(22), MiG-27 or Su-15 would make great additions for Cold War scenarios.

From what I read on Russian forums, It seems that MLA is going to be good dogfighter. There are claims that experienced pilot could even win a dogfight with MiG-29. As came for avionics many pilots claimed that its wasnt much difference compared with 29A. Radar and missiles were praised highly for its time. I think this plane is going to be nasty suprise for BLUEFOR pilots.

Well Its starting to seem that we wont get modern Russian/Soviet module after all. So if the new module isnt Su-22, Su-24 or MiG-25, I dont think I could care much about it.

Well, I was getting info from this page: https://ruslet.webnode.cz/technika/ruska-technika/letecka-technika/p-o-suchoj/su-33-flanker-d-/. Its all in Czech language, so you will probably not understand a word from it, but there is lots of interesting informations. Its basicaly says that 7 aircrafts were modernized between years 2002 and 2007. As for English sources I could find much of it. Wiki states something about year 2010, with SVP-24 improvements starting from 2016. There is also info about 2nd stage modernizations starting from 2019 https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/defense/2019-04-10/su-33-begin-2nd-phase-upgrade-while-russia-mulls-carrier-options
-
There were actually modernizations of Su-33 in begining of 21s century. Those included installation of L150 Pastel RWR, new satelite navigation system, modified avionics and increased service life. First machines came to service in 2002, last ones in 2007. Not sure if they added cabability to carry R-77, but its quite possible. Some machines were also made to carry SVP-24-33 computing system.

If you were to choose between Flanker and Eagle...
SovietAce replied to Gierasimov's topic in Chit-Chat
I would rather have full fidelity MiG-29, but I would buy Su-27 without hesitation too. Its definitely better than another BLUEFOR jet. We already have plenty of them. Btw. Somebody actually made petition for more Redfor aircrafts in DCS: https://www.change.org/p/heatblur-petition-for-dcs-world-to-have-more-redfor-aircraft-7fd32867-d247-47b8-b1a6-58d427f7a009?utm_content=cl_sharecopy_15861685_en-US%3Av2&recruiter=966805240&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition -
I seriously hoping for some Soviet/Russian jet. Perhaps MiG-25 :D ${1}

Oh c´mon those are not that bad. Sure they are not as good as R 73, but with proper use you can easily kill Eagle with only one of those(or more likely 2).
