  1. Maybe I've missed it through a lot of the tutorials, but is there a way to see your ownship B/E location, and also the B/E location of your cursor/acq symbols?
  2. Ah copy all, I misunderstood the issue.
  3. the APG-63v0 (Mech scanned) will SOMETIMES lose lock on beaming targets, the look angle (up/down) doesn't really have much NOTICEABLE impact on it, unless the bandit is super low to the ground. The V1 and V3 are much better at holding locks. Getting into a perfect beam (with 0 Vc) is pretty difficult to do, and and closure positive or negative will help the radar. The Medium Pulse Repetition Frequency (MPRF) does much better with maneuvering targets vs High PRF which is much better with hot/cold aspect targets that generate some Vc (And allow for Doppler range) - hence why these Radars will alternate HPRF and MPRF signals during a frame (Full bar count). This also explains why you could see a contact 1 second, and then it disappears on the next bar.
  4. I dunno, I have extensive experience with the APG-63v0/v1/v3 real-world, and hunting in "mini-raster" around a vanished radar contact often results in the radar picking up a lock. STT is just that, single-target-track. Prior to actually getting STT, mini-raster is commanded when you press the TDC. When the 63 is in mini-raster, you can move it around. I assume (but don't know for sure) that the 73 works the same.... Shack on the gimbals during maneuvering tho, never saw own-ship maneuvers break the lock unless it was gimbals in azimuth from an overly aggressive crank.
  5. The HUD model in this sim is actually the closest to the real thing I've seen. I'm an F-15 Avionics Tech, and it's damn near impossible to see all the data in the HUD unless you're looking from a very specific angle. Well done ED!
  6. I'm an F-15 Avionics Technician.....our AFSC (2A3X1) certifies us to work on 3 airframes, the F-15, the A-10 and the U-2......*I* have no idea what half this stuff does... (As a side note....specifically trained A-10 avionics troops goto A-10 school, and not F-15 school like I did.....but the point stands.) Way to go ED.
  7. Been trying to get online with a buddy of mine to fly. Not sure why, but we can't connect over Hamachi virtual LAN, and when I create an INternet Server, he can never find me. When I browse the servers, I only see 1 server.....any idea why??? Before you ask, I have purchased this copy of FC2. FIXED: Updated to 1.2.1 That problem was fixed, but I still can't figure out how to host a game for just my friend and I.....when one of us creates an internet game, neither of us can see it, and it doesn't work over Hamachi LAN either. Anyone have any ideas?
  8. Hey folks - Overall, I've NEVER experienced any problems with BS. My framerates are in the 50's, and everything has been smooth as silk. However, ever since the last patch, things haven't been working so well. My framerates just flying around are fine, but there are a couple things that cause BS to freeze: When I first get into the cockpit, any time a sound plays, there's a 1-2sec pause, only the first time the sound is heard, after that, everything smooths out. If I get shot down, the sim freezes for 2-3 minutes. The next thing I know I'm at the aircraft select screen. None of this stuff happened before the 1.0.1 patch, everything was smooth as butter. (one of the most stable games I've ever played) Anyone else experiencing these? I'm running Windows 7 x64
  9. 1. Hold Trim Button 2. Move Cyclic to the desired attitude and stabilize 3. Release Trim Button 3a. IMMEDIATELY release pressure on the stick (Neutralize the Cyclic) Or.... 1. Move Cyclic to the desired attitude and stabilize (You will find this difficult, because you will be fighting the AP) 2. Press and Release Trim button quickly 2a. IMMEDIATELY release pressure on the stick (Neutralize the Cyclic)
  10. Additionally, if you trim before the desired attitude is stable; say if you hit trim while the nose is still moving forward, then your trimmed attitude will be off. Make sure you are in a stable attitude when trimming: Hold trim, maneuver and set new attitude (stable), release trim switch and immediately center cyclic
  11. If u hit 't' and keep forward pressure on ur cyclic you will dedinately begin a forward nose dive. Make sure when you hit 't' you immediately return the cyclic to neutral. With the correct autopilot systems engaged the aircraft will hold the trimmed attitude. (it will continue a turn if you trim it as such.) However, the majority of users are correct, if your not holding the trim switch during maneuvering you are fighting the autopilot That's why I have the trim swich set to my trigger!!
  12. I'm trying to set up a VB3 profile for Black Shark, but when I run the new title wizard, VB3 never detects the window as a game. Anyone got it working?
  13. I dunno, I ran into the same situation. I kept my IAS up while trying to climb, but I just could not make it happen. Ended up "Skiing" down the mountain on my belly before crashing to a horrible death.
  14. Anyone else getting weird results when looking over your shoulder (As in, out over the wings).....I keep getting camera reactions like the axis' become reversed. The X axis is fine, but its the leaning axis that seems to become reversed This is with Track IR 3 btw. I would think this would be important for checking for bandits, etc. Anyone else with Track IR confirm this? Im using Track Clip Pro
