Still not used to differential brakes...
wickedfastball replied to Nealius's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You trained your hands to control the aircraft in the air, now train your feet to control it on the ground. Maybe soften the axis curve so it's less sensitive in the earlier part of the travel (negative curvature). I don't know anything about Saitek, but there might be something in the settings there that is hurting you or, hopefully, could help you. Above all, practice. Use taxi time to your advantage. -
Refuel/Reset Button doesn't work after update to 1.2.7

I had the same mic switch mapping issue as Irregular programming. The only way I could fix it was to blow away the config directory in my "Saved Games" folder and reconfigure my controls. -
trim button prob- is there any ch fighterstick users?
wickedfastball replied to ebabil's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I don't ever touch the mechanical wheels. You can use them with the calibration tool in CH Control Manager to center the range of your stick if you want but leave them alone afterward. When flying the Huey, achieve stable flight then press the trim button and return the stick to center. Works just fine. Bring up the control position indicator to verify operation. -
The comments regarding TGP/SPI/etc are the right way to go. However, if you still want to adjust the control sensitivity look to the axis settings in CH Control Manager. For the throttle slew control I have mine at the flattest curve, sensitivity 100, dead zone 10. Don't forget each axis has its own set of parameters. I find it easier to adjust as much as possible in CH Control Manager and leave the game as close to defaults as possible. As you are running CH gear, get comfortable with the Control Manager. It's a little clunky at first, but once you get the hang of it you can do some powerful things.

It did not work for me in Chrome, either. Firefox, however, did work. Support all browsers, please!

Turn your head and they are right there. Or, listen and you can tell from the rumble as they open. No need for an indicator. You get the feel once you fly enough...

Problem with snap views, help required
wickedfastball replied to Zzenith's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
You are using a command map file in CH Manager, right? If you aren't, you should. Makes life SO much easier in the long run. I have found, that for multiple-keypress commands (i.e. alt+0) you need to put HOLD in front of the first key (i.e. HOLD RALT 0). Otherwise, it interprets that as press alt, release alt, press 0, release 0. If you want some good comand maps, go to the CH Hangar and look for Ken King's map. -
Thanks for the suggestion. That did it (for now). Must have been the equivalent of "jiggle the cable". Strange, as I had disassembled everything and cleaned all the components thoroughly. Surprising how dusty it can get in there. I didn't think to reseat the card again as I had taken it apart several times. Guess it never got seated properly. Thanks again!

Well, I guess I spoke too soon. The strange texture corruption is back. Essentially the same general appearance as the previous screenshots. To summarize, I've had this same issue since at least April 2011. I've replaced the hard drive with a new installation of Windows and DCS, I've replaced the video card and the power supply. The only things left to replace are the motherboard, processor, and memory. Unless anyone has any other suggestions to try, I'm out of options.

Update... I generally blame hardware for problems as a last resort. As a professional software developer, I know that it is almost always a software problem. Not so in this case. I replaced my power supply and the texture corruption seems to be gone. I'll need to get a few more hours in the cockpit before I call it done, but it's looking good after a couple of test flights around the pattern. Simple and relatively cheap (compared to building an entirely new system). Now back to re-learning how to use the DSMS and CDU - and oh that sweet GAU-8 sound...

To the CH users, be sure you are using CH Control Manager with a good map file (the CH Hangar is an outstanding resource). Then dial down the "Character Rate" on the "Program Settings" tab to a value you are comfortable with. Mine is set to 70 and I don't have trim issues at all.

Updated the post to indicate current overclocking. These issues were present at standard rates as well, but I haven't tried it recently. Will do that. UPDATE: reset all BIOS settings to defaults and still see the image corruption. New images attached. The first one was at sim startup. I then alt-tabbed out and went back in and took the second one.

Attached images show the problem. Strange texture corruption. I've tried graphics settings all low, all high, mixed, HDR on, off, AA on, off, etc. I've tried numerous combinations of nVidia control panel settings as well. Sometimes it shows up immediately upon entering the cockpit. Sometimes it takes a bit (few seconds to a few minutes). I can grab other screens if needed. I've seen this issue for quite a while. I recently reloaded Windows on a new hard drive in the hopes it would fix it. It did not show up the first few times I ran DCS after the reload but now happens every time. It happened with my old video card (8800GTX) as well. Not sure what else to do besides build a new computer (which I'd rather not do). Other than the texture corruption the sim runs great. nVidia GTX560Ti w/285.62 Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3.2 GHz (OC from 2.66) 4GB RAM Win 7 64-bit

Mav targeting - is there a way to.....
wickedfastball replied to jason_peters's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Slightly OT, but while the Mav wasn't designed as a target-acquisition device, it has been used in that capacity in combat. Read Smallwood's "Warthog: Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War" and you will have a new appreciation for the C model upgrades. They were scud-hunting (among other things) for months with only the Maverick to search the desert expanses. -
Will there be an installer direct to 1.1.0.7 or is this patch-only?
