  1. Here's hoping! Based on what they've said, feels like they have no choice, but the issues they ran into have work-arounds that are already being implemented (Jester keybinds over relying on overlay)
  2. I know it's crazy, but people are affected differently by these things. I got Covid over Christmas and it was really rough. At least 2 weeks down, hard to walk and breathe. My Grandparents were in a similar boat but it lasted through the month of January. My parents were also knocked on their butts until mid-Jan from Christmas. I get you're saying you had the flu and they said "no it's Covid" despite your tests, but that doesn't mean it doesn't still exist and it isn't still causing major issues. For the record, we were tested and it was positive. I do 100% agree with you on the delay. "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad" Take the time to get it how you want. Some of us have been waiting since 2017, another month isn't going to kill us.
  3. I would bet they tested for it, rather than just say "we had covid" due to a cough. It's still around, my family got it pretty bad this winter, my grandparents were down from December to late January, it was rough.
  4. The biggest difference between every other prediction and "winter '23” is money has now changed hands. People have now paid money in the expectation of a release by March. So it has a release window now whether they like it or not. It will likely follow the tomcat release: preorder in October with a winter release that ended up releasing in March.
  5. Just posting this, Heat Blur wouldn't post a release date and then never bring it up again until it's a week past, right?
  6. You haven't been watching closely then, we have seen bombs dropped and migs splashed, though not in a tutorial aspect. Either way, the preorder is out. If it follows the same path as the tomcat we will see a release in March. Tomcat preorder was Oct and released March the following year. They couldn't feasibly release the preorder and then delay it 6 more months of the preorder said a release of winter '23. That would become legal trouble. My next question would be: what videos on the tomcat did we have before preorder/one month after? I know the RIO pit was last as YouTubers had access to the module before it was done and we're told not to show it.
  7. They have not said it isn't coming this year, unless you can provide the source?
  8. Adding this picture posted from the discord as a reminder. This statement still falls within the release window given.
  9. So then my question, since it's so obvious why not tell us?
  10. again, the release date they gave in september of "before 2023 is over" They've sorta said this a few times and winter 2023 IS before 2023 is over. I'm sure you could understand why someone would think it's coming before 2023 is over when the 2 "dates" they've given sorta match up, so if they are going to miss one it would be nice to know sooner than later.
  11. Sure, but that doesn't mean it's not coming in 2023. The last discussion of an actual release date/year was in Sept when cobra said it's coming in 2023. The pre-order saying Winter 23/24 still includes that I would just hope we don't get another 2022 where the release comes and goes with nothing until later in Jan. There was even talk in November of 2022 where they said the phantom was nearing completion instead of just telling us "it's not coming in 2022. It's going well but we're behind schedule"
  12. I remember a post (or two) where Cobra had said it's coming by the end of 2023. With it being the end of November, there are only 5-ish weeks left until 2024. The only reason I bring this up is how the 2022 release went. I'm sure many of us would rather be told now that the release window was missed instead of learning by the window itself being missed. Yes, I'm aware of the Pre-order saying Winter 23/24. Yes I know the F-14 followed a very similar release date. Yes I know these things are hard to plan. The whole point of this is post is saying please tell us sooner rather than later if the 2023 window from September is going to be missed.
  13. I mean, I get the whole restraint of it. Nov 2022 on the forums they said it was nearing completion. So it's understandable to have the feeling of "I'll believe it when I see it" but I can't help but be hyped.
  14. It's been said by Cobra on Reddit a few times and I believe on their discord. I don't remember exactly the post, but it was a month or so ago at most
  15. I'm team Spooktober, it makes sense thematically. I just hope Heatblur share the same sentiment. Realistically though if it is 2023, preorders would probably start end of this month/Early November with release in December. Heatblur have, again, been saying they're very sure of a 2023 release so speculation has spread that they're on hold until 2.9 releases. I'm on the fence for that, but who knows? I would really hope that if 2023 wasn't 100% sure, they would let us know now rather than have a repeat of 2022.
  16. My guess from Jan 2023 was August and I think I missed that release date by a lot. With the RWR being finished up and them saying in April that was still a major project to finish, we're on track for a release this year. Working Radar, working RWR, flight model is good, we're definitely still on track. I just wish they told us in November that delay was coming instead of saying "Nearly completed"
  17. I think someone said on their discord it was partially due to the F-15E release...but after seeing the F-15E release, please take as long as you need. For real, get it right the first time! I want the F-4E now, but I'd rather wait and get it good than get something okay and going to be patched to good.
  18. Vietnam won't be a possibility until destructible trees are in the game. Otherwise it's going to be a major letdown when they can see through the trees, shoot through the trees, but your bombs hit a branch and the splash doesn't do anything
  19. Is there any plan for heatblur to provide any updates to the sparrows? Or provide any that aren't currently modeled?
  20. 100% as agree. Communication is key in many things; as stated many times it's not the delay that's upsetting, it's the radio silence. Totally fine if you set a goal and push towards it and miss. That's part of life. Not a fan when you hype it, continue to tell us it's on track, then miss it and act like nothing happened and ignore that it was missed.
  21. This is all we were asking for Thank you for the update, we are still very excited as well. Maybe next time just let us know a little sooner. We are understanding of delays, we just like communication.
  22. In my opinion, what's the most frustrating is the lack of communication. Considering in November it was still gunning for 2022 release, now the ONLY communication we've seen is someone on Reddit saying "within 6 months, you'll start seeing stuff"...clearly it was known that the delay was happening. Why not just tell us? Stuff happens, clearly the reasoning behind the delay is more than acceptable, we 100% understand it. Why lead us to believe it's being released potentially in 2022 when now you're saying potentially 6 months until we start to see things? You really can't over share, even when it's "this still going smooth!", "few hiccups, can't discuss much" Or "not gonna make the deadline, more news to follow" just talk to us. I don't get the radio silence on the matter. Clearly the official deadline is missed, but still not having an official response on the matter and leaving things to a comment on Reddit is not cool. Tldr: missing deadlines are 100% okay. Radio silence on the matter after hyping us isn't.
  23. With the Corsair, it's coming with a Zero AI model as well as carrier assets, so that I can somewhat understand. And the Zero has little to no information available so that can take time. I'm very excited.for the F4Unas well, sorta opens the door for Pacific in WWII for DCS once it's released, just need more modules and assets. I do wish IL2 did Pacific first, much better investment to spend $70 and get plenty of era specific fighters, attack, and bombers on all sides rather than $70 per module, $40 per asset pack, $xx for the map
  24. imo they're already there. I 100% understand the delay behind the module, but to KNOW you're still 6 months out in 2023, and still be radio silent and not talking or telling people that it's being delayed, and even going as far as keeping the hype for a 2022 release up in November, while ALSO not having a statement put out about it after you miss the date completely...just leaves a bad taste. I'm not frustrated about the delay. I'm frustrated they knew it was going to be delayed and STILL have not said anything about it. Just tell us!
  25. I don't think that we can communicate anything other than the progress is good and that we're working hard to make it happen as soon as possible. We still need to finish some subjects before we can present our Phantom. It won't happen tomorrow or the day after, but it won't be as long as half a year before we start discussing and showing the details. Stay tuned -From heatblur on Reddit Closest thing to an update we'll get for now
