  1. Programming noob question: What would happen if you set the tanker option to "true" in the FA-18C comm.lua? Would your AI wingman hit the tanker and refuel when you command him to in the "Go to" comms menu?
  2. PG and NTTR are up and running for me now! I did PG first, closed out of DCS, then re-opened and successfully ran NTTR. Both logs are attached. Thank you for solving this problem! Would I be correct in assuming that this fix will be worked into future open beta updates, and that the user will not have to do do more than to just run the DCS updater? Also, will this have any affect on updates of the stable version? Thanks again! dcs_nttr.txt dcs_pg1.txt
  3. Agreed. There are multiple serious issues that have been reported in a number of threads. With PG and NTTR completely not working for myself and others, and multiple ME crashes when loading Caucasus, open beta is almost unusable. That said, I'm sure there's a ton of work to be done, I know there's a process to getting it done, and the ED team has yet to fail us. Plus, the stable version continues to be flawless. Hope we get more updates soon regarding the issues that need to be fixed! :)
  4. Same here. What was even more surprising was that today's hotfix didn't correct the ship's wake/water shooting through the deck issues that people have also been experiencing. That issue is posted in another thread. Guess there's just a ton of work for the ED team to do, and it is the beta version after all. These things can and will happen from time to time. I'm sure this will all get worked out! :)
  5. I just implemented the hotfix, and no joy. Same issues as before with the 8/29 update. Attached files are from each of the 2 attempts made to run DCS since installing the hotfix. Houston, we have a problem... dcs.log-20180831-175745.zip dcs2.txt
  6. You were able to update your open beta to version 2.5.3.21107? The hotfix is still unavailable for download as of 1:14pm EDT. (U.S. East Coast)
  7. Ditto. I'm showing the updated changelog as of 11:59am EDT. I'm hoping the ME notes in the post have to do with the problem we've been dealing with.
  8. The Open Beta Hotfix update to version 2.5.3.21107 was just posted to the DCS World 2.5 Changelog and Updates of Open Beta 30 minutes ago at the time of this post. However, every time I go to update my DCS open beta, it keeps saying that version 2.5.3.21016 is up to date. Does it usually take some time after the Devs post the new changelog for users to be able to access the update?
  9. Roger that and thank you NineLine! I am also having the same issue with DCS instantly crashing whenever I try to access anything in game related to the NTTR or PG maps (ME, missions, instant action). On a hunch, I went in and cleared out my Track folder, and I found that I was able to load and fly in the NTTR map. After that mission (just a random practice mission I created using ME), I tried to load a PG mission I created in ME without exiting DCS, and it instantly crashed. I'll include my rig specs and log/dxdiag below. Rig Specs - Dell 17 7000 Series OS: Windows 10 CPU: Intel® Core i7-7500 @ 2.70GHz RAM: 15.87GB GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 940MX (latest drivers installed) Display: 1920 x 1080, 60Hz dxdiag.txt dcs1.txt
  10. I can't even create new missions using the Persian Gulf/Nevada maps. DCS instantly crashes. Only the Caucasus map works. Hopefully we will be getting a hotfix soon! :)
  11. Same here, plus the splash caused by the ship's bow breaking through the water seems excessive even if it wasn't actually passing through the deck. I currently do not have any mods running on my open beta installation. Hope ED can implement a hotfix, but otherwise great work overall!
  12. Thanks for the hard work Jar! Recently got TrackIR5 and your LSO mission is really helping me get used to the new feel! #dontsettle

Substitute combustion with burning liquid hydrogen fuel and liquid oxygen oxidizer together and your explanation is correct. The process of contrail formation is actually much simpler. Think breathing on a mirror and the fog created by the heat of your breath on the cold surface of the mirror. That's condensation at work and it's the same process at work behind the hot exhaust of everything from a missile to any jet or turboprop engine provided the upper atmosphere is at the correct level of humidity. BTW Spud, big fan of your YouTube channel!! :)
  14. Cap, Just a complete stranger/computer gaming noob who loves the Reapers and learned a lot about the Hornet/DCS through your vids! Fight, stay positive, and know that you will come out on top! I'm limited to single player, but you better believe I'll be hopping in my Hornet and splashing cancer bandits left and right!
  15. I thought about that too and that seems strange to me. Then again, I'm no naval aviator so I wouldn't know. Hopefully a Mod or a Dev has some time to set the record straight :)
  16. I created a simple single-player scenario in the mission editor for the NTTR map, and I was surprised to find that I could lock on to an IL-76 at ~130nm (measured in F10 map). I have no issue with the lock at all, but the range displayed on the HUD does not go above 99.9nm. Once the target distance drops below 99.9nm, the RNG displayed on the HUD will decrease, and I know that there is no issue with the lock as I am able to successfully fire my AIM-120Bs and splash the bandit. I've attached the relevant .trk file. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for everything that you guys do! HUD Target RNG .trk
  17. Thanks for the update! Looking forward to its release!
