  1. I keep getting game freezes (not responding) whenever I hop into the Tomcat in multiplayer AFTER first hopping into a different aircraft. This does NOT happen if the Tomcat is the first aircraft I hop into on multiplayer after first initializing DCS. Not sure why this keeps happening, but this problem has been consistent throughout my flying in 2.7. Log is attached. System Specs: ASUS PRIME Z490-V ATX, ARGB Intel i9-10900K (3.70-5.2GHz) 32GB DDR4/3200MHz Dual Channel Memory GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB GDDR6 1TB Patriot Vi[er Gaming VP4100 Series (PCIe Gen4) NVMe M.2 SSD Windows 10 Home 64 bit Version 20H2 HP Reverb G2 HMD dcs.log
  2. I've definitely gotten used to the jittery clouds, but I would love to see this issue fixed once and for all.
  3. OverlordBot increases my immersion and makes DCS even better, which is saying a lot, because I love flying in this sim! Please allow this to be integrated into the new ATC system!
  4. Only a miserable keyboard warrior would call that being a jerk. You're a good teacher! Kudos to Barney for letting us see his mistakes, because it helps people like me who want to learn more about combat aviation :)
  5. I also noticed that! Just assumed that's how it is in the real Hornet. Definitely helps with your altitude at the 90 and finishing the turn into the groove for sure. Btw, loving these behind the scenes, academic-type series of vids you guys have been doing! Keep up the nerdery!! :P
  6. Given how easy it is to ignore and how little impact it has on customizing loadouts, I wouldn't bank on it :)
  7. Ah getting the first virtual "poke". Just keep at it, and utilize the curvature function in the settings menu for your control axes if you haven't already.
  8. People like that are as miserable as they come, and I hope you continue to ignore those a$$@#&%*. The number of people who appreciate your service, and the time you take to give us a look into what it's like to be a real Hornet pilot, far out number those few bad apples. Thanks for making these videos!! :)
  9. I'm fairly confident that as the Hornet becomes more feature complete, these smaller issues will be addressed, and there are a few of them. I brought up an issue with the ships wake and water from the bow splashing through the deck a few months back. I would recommend messaging Nineline. That's what I did and he said he would get it to the ED team. :)
  10. F@#*&$% great work, Jar and the Stingers! Time to hop into the LSO mission and start practicing!! :) #proceduralnerdery
  11. Any day I make an OK 3 pass, which is almost never :P
  12. All in good time. The feature-complete Hornet is gonna be positively badass, and the thirst for more features, like TWS (which I am also itching for), comes from a job well done by ED on everything released so far. We just gotta be patient :)
  13. This is good to know. Thanks, Wags! :)
  14. Because armchair experts like him are always... crabby... :megalol:
  15. That must be one comfortable armchair you're sitting in...
  16. Ugh that SUCKS!!! I'm really sorry to hear that, Greg. I've nerded out to every single one of your videos that you posted, and enjoyed your interview with Jar. Some people are just so filled with jealousy/self-hatred that they will do anything to bring others down to their level. That is the nature of being miserable. You are right, though. An overwhelming majority of people, including passionate amateur pilots/aviation enthusiasts like myself, really enjoy your content. You did your due diligence, and posting it was greatly appreciated. Please, oh please, don't let this drive you away from this (and the YouTube) community! Hopefully, you'll be able to do another video with Jar and enlighten us with some more Hornet nerdery!!! :)
  17. Here's a great tutorial on the basics of how to use A2A radar...
  18. I am really greatful to all of the real world Hornet pilots who have come to the DCS community to enlighten us all on their experiences and provide insight into the aircraft including procedures, handling, in depth nerdery, etc. Thanks to Mover and others for indulging us aviation enthusiasts, and I sincerely hope you aren't driven away by the very few people (from the old thread) who are just a complete headache to us all. Simmers like me hope to be pilots one day, not the other way around. :)
  19. Glad I'm not the only one, and you win for your use of fakakta :megalol:
  20. Thanks for all of the hard work Wags! Same to the whole ED team!
  21. It's funny because the "C" stands for carrier... :P
  22. Based on what you're describing, my advice is to keep practicing and keep messing up. I know that's an overly simplified answer, and probably a frustrating one as well, but I had to keep making multiple passes, and I had to fail multiple times, before I was able to trap consistently. Then, it took even more practice before I was able to line up properly in the groove and then make an OK pass. As you keep practicing, try breaking it down and going back to the basics starting at the break. Once you nail that down comfortably, proceed to trimming for onspeed AOA in the downwind, leveling out and maintaining 600ft msl. I think a lot of your problems could be solved simply by getting more comfortable flying the Hornet after you dirty up. Once you're comfortable there, then you can practice your final turn into the groove. I may have an easier time with my passes, but I have my fair share of bolters and crap passes that probably would make an LSO want to quit and dive overboard. Just keep at it and have fun! :)
  23. Gonna keep my ear to the ground for any news on the Bold Cheetah campaign ;) Cheers!
  24. Dirty up, and trim to an onspeed AOA on the downwind. Trim is your best friend when attempting to land on a carrier. Watching Case I tutorials on YouTube, and tons of practice, is how I learned to get the OK 3 wire. Goodluck! :)
