  1. Here it is, from Nineline, on what we can expect to see in the 11/21 open beta update! https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3688480&postcount=1
  2. I finally got to watch your interview full back to front and I loved the nerdery! It's much appreciated, especially as I'm really curious to know what the max allowable throttle setting is for taxiing on the CVN vs taxiing on land. Big thanks again to you and Greg for the info!
  3. I honestly don't mind the length of time it may take to fully complete the Hornet. Small company or not, I'm really glad ED is going all out to make the F-18C the most accurately simulated aircraft ever made to date. :)
  4. This informative, constructive post is exactly the reason why I started this thread. Thank you, @Schmidtfire!
  5. You are wrong. It's as simple as that.
  6. Try to keep in mind that the Hornet is 6 months into its EA period, and this has yet to be the case. In the last open beta update, for example, there was at least one major bug, and a hotfix was implemented in 48 hours that corrected it. At the worst, a major bug took a week to fix due to the complexity of the issue, but it was fixed.
  7. The title of this thread and the wording of my post were quite clear. Not once did I use the word "new". Plus, while I acknowledge and appreciate your experience with ED's products, I do agree with @Revelation. When ED is ready to release something, it should be released asap so that they can benefit from community feedback on bugs, etc. The open beta server is not the internal devs' server. ED has always been good about implementing hotfixes to correct bugs that severely impact gameplay following the release of a new Hornet system.
  8. Ah right on cue... where do I begin? First, go check the (I've actually lost count how many) relevant threads, including input from Wags and from his YouTube channel, regarding how the JHMCS is going to be rolled out. It is nowhere near complete, and if you had done your homework, then you would already know that. Then, go and learn what the terms "open beta" and "early access" mean, because based on your post, they are both definitely not for you. Stick to the DCS release version and don't purchase modules that are released in early access and you won't have anything to complain about.
  9. It most certainly is.
  10. I'm confused... nobody in this thread has said anything remotely close to what your saying, nor are there hyped up expectations here. Are you referring in general to others outside of this thread who've posted things like this in the past? If so, then yes I agree with you. Open beta definitely isn't for everyone :)
  11. I've experienced somewhat of a similar progression. Instead of excessive boltering, I tend to SAR a lot. (Jar and the VFA-113 Stingers' "Don't Settle" song playing on repeat over here lol) I believe it's due to fine tuning of the Hornet's flight characteristics. Unfortunately, the changelogs for the Hornet updates tend to only include major systems additions and not smaller changes when both are in the same update. I believe there were a few updates over the last 2 months or so that saw changes to the Hornet's drag coefficient, including how deployed landing gear, speed brake, and loaded pylons, affect the handling of the aircraft. Edit: I should also add I feel it's more difficult for me because of how much more realistic the flight characteristics have become since the Hornet was first released in EA. After all, one of the most difficult and dangerous things to do in aviation is land an aircraft on a carrier! :)
  12. Yes, as of this post we are only 3 days into the most recent open beta update, and I am like a kid in a candy store enjoying the heck out of the new features that Wags and the ED team brought to us. It's because of this that I can't help but ask... what's in line for the next open beta update? No worries if I'm jumping the gun here, but curiosity is getting the better of me right now :)
  13. I know pre-orders for the F-14 are being accepted, but when is the release date?
  14. When is release day for the F-14?
  15. You identified the problem and solved it. Quite the opposite of being an idiot :)
  16. The Hornet Mini-Updates thread is maintained by Wags, and is a great resource for all things Hornet-related that are being worked on, and tutorials from Wags' YouTube channel on how the new systems work. Here's the link to the thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=194412&page=9 And thanks Wags for the hotfix update! LOVING the new Hornet features!!! :)
  17. GREAT info here, Jar! Looking forward to having the Hornet HOTAS!! :)
  18. Did you enable "unlimited weapons"?
  19. This sentence is false!
  20. Huge thanks to Wags and the ED team!
  21. There's a reason it's called "early access". You just need to be patient. Otherwise, you need to research what "early access" means before you buy a product that's being released in early access.
  22. Well... I guess I can stop calling myself a noob... lol
  23. Now I'm excited for the JHMCS paired with the AIM-9X that's in the next open beta update! Huge thanks to Wags and the ED team! So glad to have EA with the Hornet! https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3678227&postcount=84 From Wags YouTube post, "...FPAS, laser Maverick, radar range auto-centering, and corrected radar b-sweep." will also be out in this week's open beta update!!!
  24. 100 hours, 52 minutes, and counting!
