    Game freezes with Tobii eye

    Hi everyone,

    I've just bought the Tobii Eye Tracker 5, and cannot seem to be able to fly. Each time I get into the plane, the game freezes completely and I get an error message and then back to Windows desktop. I have enclosed the DCS log below.

    Hi everyone,

    I think I've found where the issue came from. If I do not have an Internet connection or if using a VPN, I can start DCS without any problem. As soon as I start DCS with an Internet connection without VPN, it doesn't work. So weird. Thanks for your help and I'll keep you posted.

    Just to give you the big picture, I made a new computer a few days ago and I was able to load the game without any issues. And suddenly today after 2 days of not playing I have got this issue. Strange !

    Hi everyone,

    I am definitely going crazy with DCS...

    I hadn't played for the past 2 days, today I wanted to start it but impossible to start up the game. The '15 years of DCS' window opens and keeps loading undefinitely. I have tried a few things, then decided to uninstall then re-install DCS but the issue is still here, impossible to start DCS. The same '15 years of DCS' keeps loading and nothing happens. 

    Do you have any idea what I can do? I do not have any DCS log unfortunately as the game won't load. 

    Any clue? Appreciate any tips.

    The reason for asking is that your log has a series of Plug / Unplug events for audio devices when starting the mission, followed by a whole load of sound errors for the F-4E. Having checked my last log file (which was also an F-4E flight) I don;t have these. The log entries I am looking at are:

    I have also placed the autoexec.cfg with "no_device_hotplug = true". No change, it keeps crashing all the time. Either at start or when in main menu or when loading a mission.

    I even tried to fully uninstall and reinstall the game. No change....

    Thx for your reply. I don't have any MOD installed on DCS. For the rest, I have done this already but still crashing. 😞

    I have tried to set the monitor, and the screen at 120 but no change at all.

    Yes all IR LED's are off.

    - video 1093 MOV with TrackclipPro, as you can see very jittering, unable to fix a specific area

    - video 1094 MOV with Trackclip, as you can see very stable easy to track a specific area

    I have ordered the Tobii Eyetracker to compare just in case.

    Thank you so much for help ! I really appreciate it...

    After 48 hours of checks, here are my findings :

    Regarding the stuttering in DCS, indeed it was coming from the Core reaching 100%. As soon as I changed the core affinity the stuttering stopped immediately.

    About my Track IR, jittering is unfortunately still there when using TrackclipPro 😞 

    I have tried the Track IR (TrackclipPro) on anther computer and it seems to be better, almost no jittering.

    Any clue ?

    Hi,

    Same issue here.

    I have just bought a new computer (Intel Ultra 9 285K) on which I have installed DCS.

    It's really weird and it happens randomly, sometimes it is smooth and all of a sudden when I reload the game for instance, it becomes stuttering.

    Whatever I do in terms of settings eg. 60 or 120.. I still have the Track IR jittering when using the TrackclipPro, with Trackclip it's very stable. 

    TIR your mean Track IR right ? with or without Track IR software running it doesn't change anything. I have tried to put 60hz but no change, there's still stuttering in the game. It's really weird and it happens randomly, sometimes it is smooth and all of a sudden when I reload the game for instance, it becomes stuttering. 

    e.g.

    If I set to 60hz, I get some drops between 45-50, and then suddenly it gets back to 60 with image distortion when I look around. 

    If I set to 120, I get some drops around 90, and suddenly it gets back to 120, again with image distortion when I look around. 

    When I set it to unlimited, depending on the scenery density, the FPS can go up to 160-170 inside the cockpit fairly stable, and then suddenly I get some drops around 100-120. 

    Hope this is clear. It's driving me crazy, I've never ever had these issues on my previous configuration so don't know what to do

    I don't know if it can help, here's my current configuration :

    Asus Z890 Extreme motherboard

    Intel Ultra Core 9 285K

    ASUS 5090 RTX TUF

    RAM 64Gb 

    Screen ASUS PG42UQ with Overclocking at 138hz

    Windows 11

    Any clue ?

    Hi, 

    I have just bought a new computer on which I have installed DCS. 

    Everything was great in terms of performance etc, until I installed the Track IR 5 with 5.5.3 software and this was the beginning of all the trouble.

    When I used the Track IR software, the trackclip was working fine, however when I used the TrackclipPro, it was not smooth and I experienced lots of jittering. I went onto the Track IR forum where someone mentioned that I had to revert the soft to 5.4.2 to avoid the lack of smoothness with TrackclipPro.

    I did this, and the smoothness problems disappeared however I still have the jittering issue, which I do not have with the normal Trackclip. 

    On top of that, I now have big performance issues on DCS with lots of stuttering, whether or not I use the Track IR. 

    I have been doing simulation for 10 years using track ir and this has never happened before. 

    Any idea how to resolve these issues? It's driving me crazy!!!

    It can be a limitation on the backlight tech for its time as lamps and stencils, or can be a limitation of how it was implemented into the sim. Nevertheless, it can be worked around.

    Do you think it's DCS core game issue or HB issue ?

    Hi all,

    I have bought a new computer recently and am doing a few tests in terms of graphics.

    I just saw that in normal view, some instruments and written caution messages are difficult to read and look blurry with some aliaising (distortion), see pictures below. When I zoom in, everything is clear and looks perfect (see below, such as the fuel figures in the F-14). 

    This problem is not so obvious on the F-18/F-16, but more present on the F-14, F-4 and Mirage 2000. 

    I have tried different settings such as playing with MSAA, DLSS, paying with quality vs high performance etc.

    Anyone had the same issue before? I have added a picture of my settings below. 

    Any tips would be welcome!

    City night lights unrealistic

    Dear ED Team,

    I would like to express my concern about the city night lights on the new Iraqy map. 

    Let's take an example with 2 pictures more or less in the same position (see below). 

    1st pic, it's a "real picture" over Baghdad at FL350.

    2nd pic, in the "game", flying at the same level (FL350) no WX setup (fully CAVOK).

    We can clearly see the difference in terms of lights intensity !

    From my point of view this is unrealistic.

    You mean how do you fix bugs, isnt it?  ... according to me, ED splits its manpower in two parts: one to maintain the DCS core and do bug fixing, the other part to keep developing new Modules and finish up those still in early access.

    As you said, one team to maintain and do bug fixing which is not done and this is exaclty my point. 

    Some of the L-39 bugs have been present for years !
