I only play single player and get plenty of kills with the missile- i know it isnt really a 'mach 5' missile, but the high speed missile at altitude that i thought the thing was famous for is currently a bit more like a long, slow train a comin'.
What you’re missing is this is a game with a, to us, black box game engine. For all you know, that nozzle number may be a modifier to an internal pre modeled nozzle that DOES have a set diameter.
What you’re missing is the actual source code.

Ohh without going INTO afterburner it just does that when you change views and already ARE in afterburner.

Yea the AXIS wins over a keybind. Axis are absolute so it has no choice but to keep the lever where your axis control says it should be.
it’s trying to move with the key bind, but then gets told by the axis to go where the axis control is.
You need some means of turning off the axis when you want to use it in Auto or with the throttle switches.
Binding it to an axis breaks all non-emergency lever functionality once you move the axis once in the cockpit. (It ignores axis after load in until you move em)

I mean, JADAMS are swell for hitting a target, but at what point does it stop being something to do and just become an automated self playing game? Or an RTS not a sim? Because modern munitions are basically robots that do everything themselves.

Your throttles are probably a bit split? I know the Warthog in particular has a bit of split to it when it “FEELS” matched in your hand. IRL except for full FADEC throttle by wire, multi-engine throttles are never perfectly matched. Engines and linkages just have variation.
Edit: also watch the end credits of TopGun. The real tomcat does it too.

The glare shield is pretty thin flimsy plastic. That shape is from it sagging.
I’m also working on a “split” axis stick with a VPForce big motor kit. My build is just copying how the tomcats actual stick, as depicted in the 3d cockpit file posted in this thread. It’s looking like a bell crank linkage may be the way I go with it.

This. They have to build it leaky so that at altitude and at speed it doesn’t buckle from heat expansion.
Similar altitudes and speeds as a Phoenix.

You can now adjust the detent position in the special options.
They have it set to roughly match commercial HOTAS detents. But once you go custom, you can tell it where yours works.
although that video looks more like mil to 75% with 25% available for afterburner range.

Which is fine, but not actually transferrable. (Cockpit counts as 3D model) So for the discussion of “bringing it to DCS” it’s all work that must be re done.

I never said I didn’t get it. I just don’t think we’re ever going to see the “Arcade free to play” level of selection just because a 3d model for an easy sell disposable module sim is being developed by DCS 3rd parties.

You all know the A isn’t exactly amazing right? It’s a perfect fit for MSFS given the more basic avionics suite. In DCS it would just be variety for variety’s sake.

I mean, don’t be on fire maybe?
If pinkey paddle and Autopilot/Stab awg off aren’t doing it. Try a master reset or a full generator reset (L,R and Emerg off then on)
But also be less on fire.
