  1. Hi FixerOhio, it might be worth posting on the NaturalPoint forums, as their tech staff seem to be pretty good and might be able to help you out.
  2. Big thumbs up to the DCS team on a thoroughly deserved award. Let's hope reviews start flowing in some of the more mainstream gaming media...spread the good word!
  3. The default button/keys to fire the hard point weapons is different from the trigger for the cannons (typically button 1 on the stick). By default, I think the hard point weapons are fired by left alt + space. You can bind this to another button on your stick in the key set-up. Hope that helps! Edit My bad, it is right alt + space. Also, the Vikhr will only fire when the missle reticle is over the shkval reticle on the HUD. When it is you should get the letter C pop up in the HUD and the shkval, indicating that the weapon will fire. If you are in hover mode it may help to have auto-turn to target switched on the K-041 panel so that the helo will yaw towards the target for you.
  4. I am a fan of Valve and steam, however if the original poster is concerned about buying DCS online, all I can say is that it was pain free, easy, fast and secure for me. I had no problems and believe me, this sim is a blast. As for DRM, not much you can do about it, but for the record I've had no problems with starforce either with DCS or other games in the past. You'll cave in... Edit http://www.simhq.com/_air12/air_394d.html published on 9 Dec. 2008. Suggests that a steam version may be the works, but no confirmation.
  5. Not quite the same at landing on a train, but you can land on ships in the sim. There is a single mission called "Courier" that tasks you with landing on a frigate steaming at around 25 knots with a 9 m/s wind...it was a lot of fun
  6. I couldn't agree more! I'm amazed by the level of detail in this sim. The work that has gone into it is very impressive. A big thumbs up to the DCS team
  7. Hi Sunjah, There is a way to take advantage of multi core cpu's in Black Shark. You can manually set the processor affinity in task manager once you are in the mission (i.e. in the cockpit), also there is a rather nifty script the does the same thing automatically. You can find more details here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35091 I have a core2quad like you and can confirm it delivers a better framerate. Hope that is of use
