Has anyone gotten the list of devices and clickabledata together yet for A-10? I'm looking to build an OC card input device ( not really concerned about output yet.. but want to futureproof myself ). I noticed that my devices.lua is basically empty ( i'm sure this is WIP ) but wondered if there was a good list of input coords for A-10 yet.

Problem with Warthog Throttle
Cezar11 replied to Jg2001_Rasputin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have one that has not gone bad.... but I didn't install the target software on the included CD ( I got it around Dec 20th ).... I downloaded the new target and installed that. would you guys recommend installing the new flash? or just see what happens? -
it's really not the function you've assigned, it's the on/off nature of the switches. I can't think of another set of functions that require this kind of always on/off circuitry and would be usable in the heat of combat. A series of momentary on buttons ( say 30 -32 ) arranged in a matrix would be more valuable in this sim, as well as others and would be more usable outside of A-10. Thoughts anyone?

i'm not sure i'm in the majority here, but all of the functions you listed are basically a one time switch in the course of a mission, at the beginning usually. I'm not sure i'd pay $150 ( or anything over $20 ) for switches that I don't need access to multiple times in the course of a mission. What I really would pay money for is a CDU or UFC input panel ( I don't even care if there's no lights or display output for the CDU ).

what's the major diff between mp and sp? just additional a/c marked as player?

Count me in for a purchase if you are gauging interest...

I have a track clip pro and I have to do some pretty extensive yoga in order to see the AM radio dials. It can be done, but it's pretty strange looking. Not sure it's a sure-fire fix. I use wags TIR profile and I use the zoom key to enlarge the hud text. I can look strait down and see my head is in the right spot. I can see just dialing the atc freq in before you start the apu, but you'd have to wait before setting presets ( i'm sure that needs power to do )

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
Cezar11 replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
okay... This just happened to me... When you're in the bathroom using the urinal and when you notice the flush lever is stuck towards you, you immediately think that the external lights must be configured according to the panel ! -
I know the 12's are set up as CCIP by default.. you need to change it in DSMS profile for the weapon.

Tgts on map (F10) to Tgting pod
Cezar11 replied to RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I agree and disagree... in a RL environment, you'd be able to interrogate the awacs and jstars a little bit more than you can in this game. Also, you may have access ( or the jtac would ) to boots/eyes on the ground or other surveillance assets, I mean, the USAF isn't just going to send a multi-million dollar jet and a multi-million dollar pilot out just to "fly low and look over the side" So to me, using labels or viewing this map, somewhat simulates the kind of info you would have access to in RL. Perfect? no.. but better than flying in blind and getting shot at. I mean yeah, the enemy may surprise you with a sam here or there, but your target area should be pretty well intel'd or i'm not sure you'd be going. Thoughts? -

Hey Greb, how did you get the sim to realize that it can't use the runways and to actually score the mission on the runway hits? I thought the runways weren't missionable objects...
-
Sounds awesome! can't wait.... can you make a MP version also? or is that hard? ( not knowing the ME yet..) maybe one flight takes out the r/w and the other covers retreating... but anything you do I'm sure will be totally cool !

ummm... I missed a turn somewhere... I followed you so far into this thread... but when you tell him to put inputsTable = {[10] = {TwoPositionSwitch, 60, 2, 1}} into the file... how in the world do you just pull the Targeting System Power Switch out of thin air as being the switch that would move???

Hey guys... I'm trying to follow the manual/tutorial on the open cockpits site and it's very FSX leaning. My question is, once I get the master card hooked into the usb card and that hooked into the pc, will the pc see it ( plug and play wise ) as a valid set of inputs? if so, then I would just need to solder a push button or switch into the master card, then whatever input I chose ( say pin 30 ) would that then show up in A-10 or the windows HID window as input #30 ( or whatever input it is )? Or do I need to continue to program the master card to send some sort of signal to windows? I know I don't need all the fsuipc nonsense that the manual goes in depth about, but I'm wondering if it's just that easy to create a switch input into A-10?? I'm simply trying to create a cdu input device for A-10, not expecting anything back from the sim at this point. Just want more switch inputs.

I love the idea of having to destroy aircraft at an enemy base or rendering runway/taxiways unusable... how's that for an idea?

no.. i'm talking about the Zeus AAA ( I think it's a Zeus anyway ) that you blow up with the mav first thing... maybe anti-air.. maybe not.. my main gripe ( and even that's too strong of a word ) was having to come within a mile or 2.. see the laser... remember where both sides it were, go back out to 10 miles, find it again, see which side is the bad guy.. lock him with the mav and fire. Just seems inaccurate. Granted, I enjoyed the mission and it's great jtac training. My concern/interest was a bit more general than just picking on this mission.
-
I love this mission.. but I have one problem.... if anyone thinks that i'm going to get close enough to a AAA vehicle to see a IR pointer with my naked eye, rember which one it was, ... then fly off to 7 miles to target it and hit it with a mav... they are nuts. I'm assuming it's a work in progress, as you would think you'd be able to see an ir pointer with an ir mav seeker head from standoff... but you can't. But, it's a good time had by all.. I missed both -12's on the tank so I blew it up with the left over mav, just tidying up really LOL. Is there anyway we can point that AAA out by another means? The LSS is fine for the tank.

Flew the mission today... really love it..but have a question/problem. I got the sa-8 mission. I put in the coords in. not a problem...but approaching the target I was about 20 miles out, looking for the sa-8 in the tgp. Nothing on the screen, but I had labels on, and I happed to look over my right side and boom.. there was the sa-8 target. 15 miles away from where it was supposed to be. I managed to destroy it, but I wouldn't have seen it if I didn't have labels on. Thoughts?

got another question, I have a wingman that is up there with me.. but I can't seem to contact him and there's no freq listed in the brief for him... is he avail to be commanded?
-
I'm with the last poster.... flew low ( really really low.... < 200 feet agl ) and couldn't get past this mission. I think what we need is a "this is done" option and have the awacs give a new mission. think of it has "the person or vehicle is no longer a threat or has left the area..." I want to thank you for a really fantastic idea and I think if the execution or concept was really lame, you wouldn't have all these guys giving feedback. It just sucks to have to quit the mission because a trigger didn't pan out. Big Big kudos to you man!
-
I want to make a mission where your task is to disable a runway or taxiways ( so, let's say, a top secret aircraft couldn't take off and would be open to capture by allied forces ). But I can't find a way to make the airport runways a triggerable object... yes.. I could put an airplane on the runway that you have to destroy.. but that just seems cheap.... ideas?

Inside view of TM HOTAS Warthog
Cezar11 replied to Frazer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just got my warthog 2 days ago.... I do think it's worlds better than my cougar and I could actually control the blackshark much better than ever. However.. in moving it slowly, I did detect the "sticktion" described here and it did affect the subtle fine movements required for hover and landing. I tried removing the big spring and repositioning the small ones on top, and boy, what a difference... no sticktion at all, it's almost too loose, but better than stock. It's so smooth, just a barely detectable center. I think just a hare stiffer spring is needed ( unless those 4 springs don't change at all with use.. I doubt ) Wondering if a couple of washer unders the springs to make the compression a bit tighter would do the trick? thoughts? -
Hey Miquez!!... I'm in Hilliard..... small world!
-
all I know is.. I don't "stir the stick" at bootup.. and I don't have any issues with trim or the "extreme" movements at the edge of the stick travel.... in fact, I never really move the stick past 60% of it's travel, the blades don't like being thrown around. She's a very responsive aircraft, and only needs a nudge (maybe a tad more ) to go where you want.... my curves in BS seem to work out great... lets me fly at speed like I think I should, yet lets me be very gentle and precise when flying slowly.
