Hi all. I am attempting to install the SuperBug v1.6 mod to my Steam Edition of DCS world and am unable to see the them. I followed all the instructions I could find on forums and youtube but the Superbug mod doesn't seem to work. I created the "mods" and "coremods" folders in the user>saved games>DCS folder and dropped the appropriate files in there, but they do not show up in DCS. I know I am doing something correctly because the Super Hornet Tanker Mod is showing up and I can fly that, just not the E,F, and G Super Bugs in the other mod. Is there something I am doing wrong that you all figured out? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I've gotten much better... Bestapproach.trk

Hey all, I know carrier traps are the most difficult thing to do in aviation, so learning it in DCS is going to take time. However, anyone willing to watch my track and give tips? I have watched a ton of youtube videos on this and I am curious what it is I am not getting. The track I uploaded was a two pass. The first I waved off and missed, the second I was waved off but landed anyway. I guess I am wondering if there are any instruments I should have turned on, what to pay attention to, what altitude to come in at, I feel like I am getting it slowly, just curious about what to focus on most! Landing on the carrier is so damn difficult. But at least I have a fighting chance now!

All, (Especially Foka, Random Totem, and Ziptie) I think it is now fixed. I don't know exactly what fixed it but I will explain what I did. Eagle Dynamics Tech Support (which responded VERY quickly) suggested that I turn off avionics mode and game mode (just like Ryanwtod suggested). They were already both unticked, but i ticked and unticked them again. Then I reset all bindings for F/A-18C Sim to default: joystick, throttle, mouse, and keyboard. I went to takeoff and this time the binding for salute DID work which was a good sign. I took off on Supercarrier with hand off stick and got AIRBORNE!!!! stabs then went from 16 back down toward zero. Gear up, flaps to auto and I was zipping around without a problem. Thanks everyone for the help. You guys and this community generally are pretty awesome. I owe you!

We can say it is not the joystick or throttle at least. If others are having the same issue then we know it doesn't stem from the HOTAS.

Ziptie and Random Totem, Lots to take in here. Ok, first chocks were removed. Two, I have noticed the salute issue too. I have bound it and re-bound the key but it never works. I have to go into comms to salute. I cannot find auto-trim in the options. Don't know where it would be. I made a second track from Cold Start and still the same issue. The uninstall->reinstall didn't help. In fact it saved my old settings so if I do it again I need to find away to ensure it is fully erased next time. Track 2 shows start from cold start... I used the autolaunch sequence and then trimmed to 16 before launch. The game is a legitimate copy. I purchased it on steam. I am just so frustrated because this is my four day weekend to really enjoy the game and now I am suddenly having problems with it. I have no clue what to do. Issues launching from cold start.trk

I opted out of the betas and then uninstalled. Restarted, now reinstalling everything. I will post tomorrow if there are still problems. Knowing my luck, I'm sure there will be

Problem is the instructions are for non-steam and I use steam.

Thanks Random Toten. I will try. And thanks Ziptie for the help too. I will try the repair. Also, I took off with auto flaps just to try and got airborne, flaps read 0 but within seconds went to 30% again. I think it's a bug.

No binding conflicts, stab and trim at 16. I hit v and tried that as it is T/O trim but nothing. I was in "game mode" but I turned that off, checked the bindings, and tried again and still crash. It's just taking off, full afterburner, then slowly stalls and crash EVERY time.
-
Thanks guys. Attached is the track and some pics of the cockpit before takeoff and then after in the air. Again, this is for the Supercarrier mission that places you already on the cat. So everything is already up and programmed. But I want to figure this out. Issues launching.trk

What's the track file? How do I get that?
-
So I then went into instant action "Free Flight". The Hornet was trimmed to zero but after some manuevers it seemed to go back to 23 degrees. Is something going on here? Did I set something up wrong?
-
I tried to upload a movie of the takeoff but it wont upload. Nothing is working. If I leave the flight stick at neutral then I crash into the sea. If I pull back I get up to about 500 feet and eventually stall out. This is even after I raise gear and put flaps back to auto. No clue what is up.
-
Thank you Harker. Ill give it a try after work.
-
I dont think there is an axis issue is this is the same setup I have used since before I installed supercarrier.
-
Roger. Ok so you guys think the trim is causing me to crash then? That makes sense. I will check after work. I know there is a display in the HUD if you know where to look that shows your trim. I will have to learn how to do all this. Thanks! Probably set the trim, launch and get to 500 feet and then after that trim to normal?

I used the pre-set supercarrier launch mission, so I figured it was set for me.

Ground Crew loading ordinance command and Computer Specs Questions
Jimd0586 replied to Jimd0586's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks Razor. I did a lot of reading and my take away from CPUs seems to be that while they have gotten faster since 2012, it hasn't been by the staggering amounts that graphics cards have. Most sites that rate your computer show my i5 3570k as still pretty solid. Now I realize that DCS is a more CPU intensive game... but I think for now I stick with it and my current MOBO. The next step will be a 1070 used. I think I can find a deal on one. From what I understand a 1070 will run DCS well. I don't do VR or anything. -
I bought Supercarrier last night and it runs pretty well. It's nice eye candy. I have an issue though: After launching my Horney hits 200 MPH about 150 feet and then even with full afterburners on slowly starts to drop from the sky and slow down until I crash into the sea. The nose pitches up. It's as if she's stalling from too much pitch. I can see prior to launch that my elevators are set automatically for extremely heavy climb while on the cat. These crashes occur even after I raise gear and flaps. Any idea what is going on and how I fix it?

Ground Crew loading ordinance command and Computer Specs Questions
Jimd0586 replied to Jimd0586's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Checked both last night. At times CPU maxes at 100% but seems to run mostly at like 70%-80%. In game I don't notice slowdowns at all, even at times where CPU utilization peaks at 100%. CPU shows between 12 gigs and seemed to hold at 78%. I recognize many on the forums say if using over 80% RAM then you need more. I have 4 sticks of 4 gig RAM so adding ram would be frustrating. -

Ill have to check after work. I'm guessing both are 100%. I have the CPU (3570k) overclocked to 4.1 ghz, I can probably push it to 4.4 if needed. I have a pretty nice aftermarket coolerheatsync/fan on it.
