  1. Where is this "motion smoothing" setting? I always just edit the motion reprojection settings with notepad in the steam vr file folder. Is there a difference in using one method or the other?
  2. The issue resolved itself after reinstalling the 3090, idk how or why, maybe just needed to be reseated but I doubt it, or maybe just a temporary driver/software bug with a new hardware change. Best I can tell the 3090 is good for around 20-25% more frame rate at the same settings. As a result I was able to run better shadows, turn up the msaa and turn up view distance while maintaining the same frame rate as with the 2080ti before.
  3. OK got the 2080ti back in and its BUTTER smooth rock solid 45fps... Anybody got any ideas? Notice how much smoother the cpu graph is with the 2080ti!
  4. I have been away from the game for awhile, I just got a evga 3090 ftw3 ultra, after some test I am noticing an annoying issue. To be fair IDK if this is a issue with the 3090 or its a recent issue with DCS. I'm about to reinstall my 2080ti to double check but wanted to get the ball rolling here first. I use "motionvector" in the motion reprojection settings when I play DCS, it limits the fps to 45fps and typically is butter smooth (last time I played with the 2080ti a month or so ago). What I am noticing is the frames will frequently but momentarily drop from 45fps to 39-41fps and cause stutter in the headset. According to gpuz and task manager I have PLENTY of gpu headroom (I think it was at 50% usage or so) so there should not be these momentary drops. None the less I decided to change the motion reprojection setting to "none" which limits the frames to 90fps. During this test I never saw anything lower than 75fps and typical hovered around 85fps. Anyone noticing the same? Anyone know what's up? Thanks
  5. So I just found out the F-106 carried a A2A Nuke! I don't know about you guys but I think ED needs to fast track a F-106 module! :megalol:
  6. First off THANK YOU!, awesome reply. So like I said; "What I am doing is going head on with a bandit and launching a PH at 30nm and turning 180deg immediately to break lock to see how the PH behaves on its own." and "the PH behaves how I expect it to (tracking the target in Pitbull) in the above described situation." To clarify, I expect it to track to the target all on its own (because I've turned a 180 headed the other direction) or at least attempt to.. and it appears to do just that so long as I don't interact with Jester.. (He's screwing up all the fun). I didn't know about this 7nm spec with the PH seeker. I guess I have more testing to do. My next thing to try is making sure I cycle the ACM cover down and back up each time I change anything like switching to PAL or asking Jester to switch to STT for example. Ill post back with my findings. One more note, you can tell when the PH is seeking bc the AI bandit will go bonkers evasive but many times when its not seeking I watch the PH fly right by the bandit.. they would pass each other as if on a 2 way street and wave hello at each other not reacting what so ever lol.
  7. Hey Guys got a few questions, I'm doing some testing with the aim54 and its pitbull function and am getting some head scratching results so I just want to brush up on the functions before I go too far down the rabbit hole. What I am doing is going head on with a bandit and launching a PH at 30nm and turning 180deg immediately to break lock to see how the PH behaves on its own. - I currently think that If the ACM cover is up the PH should go pitbull immediately after launch no matter what, is that correct? - Does it matter what mode you are in when you launch? stt/tws/rws/plm/pal? - Also just to be sure, what is default mode Jester is in when you are seeing the launch priority for targets but not locked? TWS? - What I am noticing is if I leave jester alone and launch with ACM cover up while he has the radar showing launch priority on the target (but not locked in stt) the PH behaves how I expect it to (tracking the target in Pitbull) in the above described situation. - But as soon at I tell Jester to do anything (like lock in stt or switch to tws) I can not get the PH to track in pitbull, they just go stupid as soon as I break lock. It also seems to effect it in PAL mode too.. What am I doing wrong guys? Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the help, thats frustrating to hear, hopefully they will add those capability's in the future.
  9. Thanks about 30mins ago I figured out that it was probably normal as I was able to get a mission/online session running through my account on DCS website.. but this brings up more questions for me. How do you edit and make new missions with map editor? Also how do you add a description to the server? Thanks
  10. Hello all I decided to switch over to the dedicated server but I'm having trouble opening it after finishing the install. It stops at the loading screen. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. SAME! :(
  12. I would love to see a modern US attack Heli, for some reason I have always had a love for the Cobra over the Apache. I guess I feel like like the AH has been done before (not recently though). That's why I would rather the Cobra, (something different). Maybe I'm not considering it enough. What's ya'lls thoughts, change my mind? However atm I would love either!
  13. If you could choose the next module to be released on DCS? Try to keep it to one, but not more than two picks If you just cant resist ;)
  14. I had a chance to buy one from BnH photo last night, not for 513 but for 595.00... I also saw some new slides that just got out of the 10900kf, its 14++++++ 10core 5.2 ghz. More cores and a tad better clocks. Deja vu
  15. Consider warranty's, a lot of 1080ti's were used heavily during the mining craze, a shortened lifespan might result .
  16. I not sure what the 1% lows were, but with the 4 core 2133 setup It dipped down to ~46 and up to ~56. Keep in mind frame rate conditions change rapidly when flying through downtown Dubi..LOL
  17. https://valid.x86.fr/hwdum6 Mine @ 5.0, Actually 596 seems high, I don't remember it being that high before, I wonder if something changed with cpuz?
  18. That is odd, stock clock 9900k typically gets around 582 on single core cpuz
  19. 6 cores @ 4.8 4000 c18 ram speeds frames uncapped It went up a little, looked like it was averaging about 5fps or ~10% more than in the post above. Looks like the 2080ti was pegged at 100% up from 97%.
  20. 4cores @ 4.4ghz 2133 c13 ram speeds uncapped frame rate
  21. There are 3 popular tests that measure single core performance that we see reviewers use a lot. Cinbench R20, R15 and CPUZ. R20 favors AMD while intel performs better on R15 and CPUZ.
  22. 2 core test and 3 core test @ 4.4ghz 2 cores ~ =30fps 95% cpu and 65% gpu 3 cores ~ =45fps 65% cpu and 90% gpu 4 cores ~ =45fps 45% cpu and 90% gpu This makes me think DCS can only efficiently leverage 3 cores. I wonder if it can only utilize 2 for rendering and 1 for loading environment? I have really have no idea just speculating.
  23. That is defiantly a consideration, I'm going to look into it but for some reason I want to say the memory speed is cpu dependent and not necessarily what the board originally was speced for but I could be miss remembering.
  24. Yeah! I believe with A bios update you could upgrade all the way to a 7700K with your MOBO.
