Both the f-5 from flaming cliffs and the remastered full fidelity f-5e are not available for dcs 2.5.6 and the old f-5 has been pulled from sale on release of the remaster so probably you can only fly the tiger if you upgrade to a newer dcs version (maybe the old f-5e will be available to you if you buy the remastered f-5e but I don't think so, you would probably have to ask support directly if you want adefinite answer on that)

Yes, checked just now (Friday @ 0550Z) There is a new working link, see the pinned template thread in this forum (the link on the main website download section however isn't fixed yet)

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/upload/iblock/b2a/9yoy6dd67ant4eeg6uubso8aj4h13am1/F-5-E3_Template.rar is the template link also returning a 404 error for others?
-
As the title says, all training missions that check for reticule depressions are not advancing, as I have read in other threads probably due to an update in the gunsight depression logic. I just was trying the module in the free trial thinking about buying it but it is not great to be unable to use multiple of the taining missions.

As per the title. The template is missing a description lua which makes it impossible to create a functioning livery with it as we currently are unable to create one with the modelviewer due to the encrypted nature of the remastered tiger. While the other issues of not having helmet textures available and not being able to work with the modelviewer (as per the thread in the main tiger section) probably need time fixing, we could at least get started on working with textures if we had a properly commented template description.lua with the texture names of the tiger and the argument numbers for the different antennas.

I mean not having the model available in the modelviewer is one thing but why the <profanity> did they release the template without at least a description.lua with all the texture names and arguments for the different antennas documented in it? It would still be tedious to create liveries that way but at least it would be possible now it is completely impossible
-
But has anyone even been able to make a skin show up from the template at all? Currently not possible without the description.lua or texture names, right?
-
I think I have found a solution for this part. If you include both skins and both have the exact same name, then at least in multiplayer they match correctly if I understand the matching system in dcs correctly. Probably this would also work for assigning the correct livery for the player but I could not yet test that. But without access to the description.lua it is again hard to test these things.
-
You have to be in the respective country to see all the skins
-
expect slow progress as livery makers have to load into the sim every time they want to test something while woking on skins, as the f-5 now has a template but still can't be viewed in the modelviewer
-
Any update on getting the ability to make skins for the f-5?
-
Yep, would really appreciate an update on that. Losing all old skins is rough but understandable. Not having a texture template would also be understandable if we at least could make simple liveries from the included liveries but as they are encrypted that is also impossible. In my opinion, if liveries are encrypted, a module should not be released until the template is ready.

What model/version is ED's F-5 supposed to represent?
dSAF Dancer replied to Viper33's topic in DCS: F-5E
outside model, yes and also the radar and rwr appear to be the swiss export version but the radio is not correct for the swiss version and the ins is missing that was installed in these birds. So it is a early us f-5e with an rwr and radar that only the export models received, strange combination -
not really, only few of the old default skins are confirmed, many more are not
