  3. US Aeronautical information is made freely available, and wouldn't be difficult at all to license for the game, nor expensive. (Unlike for other places in the world, where jeppesen is commonly the only option of charting, extraordinarily expensive charting...... Because the US government makes this a cheap option for all pilots, including this information as it (hopefully) appears in game is expected in my opinion. Including release date versions of enroute L-9, L-7, H3/4, the Las Vegas Sectional, Terminal and DP/IAP charts for the respective airports modeled in the scenery would not be difficult, or pricy. It's also to the benefit of the user. Cheap+good for users=Good for Eagle Dynamics :). Plus where else are you supposed to find charts if you're a noob to hardcore sims? eh? if I didn't have my pilot's license I wouldn't know where to look for this shit, let alone that it exists :). needs to be included for users to experience it. Edit: and better yet? Include a lesson on charts, their applicability, purpose, and how to fly using them.
  4. And to that extent: They should also build the airports in comforming with location and design of their real world counterparts - Taxi ways and information signs placed and designated as per the US AIP, A full set of charts would be A+ as well. Take my A-10C IFR through nevada :pilotfly:

Sorry to burst your bubble, a Sideslip has nothing to do with Descending Faster, a Side-slip is a Landing technique in which Rudder is used to line the aircraft with center-line, and Bank is used to correct the Crosswind say you were crabbed into the wind, nose pointed to the right side, you would stomp left rudder, and Bank to the Right "Slipping" while lined up with centerline. The Slip used in a Descent is called a "Forward" Slip, it involves Creating drag with the fuselage by inputting rudder to one side, banking to the opposite, and descending in a Straight line at a Heavy "Crab", the airplane creates an immense amount of drag like this, and flies like a Rock, Nose goes Down, in order to keep airspeed up, because if you stall on this configuration, you can bet money you'll end up killing yourself in a spin.:smartass: Ryan, Your Licensed Pilot and Aviation dictionary.
  6. 260 Kph is only 140 knots. Just about any Airplane can slip at that speed, and the Black Shark has enough strength/Torque *Not to mention that rudder* to be able to do a slip at those speeds just fine. Edit; You won't see a jet doing that, because its not something a pilot would normally do. I fly airplanes, Trust me when I say, that you can slip a jet doing 250 knots, you can also slip a Cessna/Piper/Cirrus doing 140 knots 260kph=140 Knots, if you can slip a Cessna/Piper using just a rudder, You best bet you can Slip a Kamov with a huge amount of Torque in those Rotors, AND a Rudder. :) you have to remember this isn't your Conventional helicopter, the Rudder works in Two ways, the first is by applying More/Less collective to a certain blade, this creates a Torque Factor that will turn the body of the helicopter, the second, is that Rudder on the Tail, which gives it a more Conventional Rudder control at high speeds *Like an airplane*.
  7. It's pretty difficult without rudder pedals :cry:, this is something I typically note every few seconds though *I'm a pilot*, out of habbit doing it in the real world. Sadly, the twist on the joystick leaves a lot to be desired.

OldFlyer, I've Attached a .Trk File showing a short demonstration of my own flying in the KA-50, I have about 30 hours time in Sim, and about 40 hours of Real time as a Private Pilot in 172's *Which handle nothing like helicopters.   9. well the first mission worked fine.... it seems on the second mission though I hear the Audio, but no english subtitles to join it?.. makes it somewhat difficult to get any grasp of what's going on...
  10. Under most circumstances eg. Mein Herz. The Music is Copyrighted, he may be able to get "Permission" I guess from Rammstein's Recording company. But in order to use it for Commercial Gain there would be some large $$$ To pay in order to License that song from the Company that owns the rights to it. if you don't get the permission and you used someones copyrighted work you can get sued up the ass for it, Lots of cash in that lawsuit. Not sure, but I do believe Requeim for a dream is also a Copyrighted work, I'm not sure how he's gotten around the copyrights, or for that matter if he has. if he doesn't have rights for the music though, that can be potentially bad for ED. if they endorse his Movie that uses a copyrighted work, they're as much guilty as he is.
  11. Easy, Just pick the aircraft, you know the taskbar on the right witch gives you options? there's a Tab in that with waypoints and right above that a "Selector" there's a button with a Crosshair on it, click on it.
  12. hmm yeah, generally when I land I'll Zoom out - this gives me the best "Peripheral" View around the cockpit, cant see gauges so well but who cares, you can see the sides of the cockpit as well as infront of you, it's a great visual Reference setup just to zoom out while looking through the HUD. As far as First flight - Congratulations. Landings.....they're Hit or miss, I've got about 250~ or so logged in the 172.....and I still **** them up sometimes :doh:. Every Pilot has off landings, Every New pilot is about Good enough to kill himself on the first go. I wouldnt trade my experience in the 172 for anything.....Okay maybe I would, but the trade would be for some sort of Bigger more Powerfull airplane :pilotfly:
  13. Dude, you're Not joking in the least.... My personal Experience; I'm a Private Pilot, got my license in February, 2 flights before my Checkride I found myself on the - Scariest - Landing I'd ever done....... 172SP Touched down at 70~ Knots, Was the last landing of the day, Instructor asked me to approach High and then Slip down to the approach path, So I did....sort of.....I came in much too high and couldnt Slip enough to get low, I figured well this sucks...but I was in a position i could still "Touch" The Markers....So I kept my descent with 10 flaps and made it down Nose low into ground effect, Held the nose level and "Worked" to hit the 1000 foot markers......I got them! :joystick::D Now the bad part - at 70 knots a 172SP in ground effect, Still Wants to Fly....a Lot....The landing was Soft but firm, so we didn't bounce, instead we were Slightly un-aligned with the runway, so I had to correct......the Small inputs I made were Absolutely terrifying to myself, it felt like sitting in a Very High Center of Gravity SUV on the Freeway, Swerving Like a madman because your controls are playing funny with you.......Last time I'll ever touchdown fast in a 172, Next Time I'm going Around. with the Kamov, I can only imagine this is Worse for these speeds, mainly because your rotor in Ground effect already makes the thing wanna fly a little.....*you know how its bouncing around and light on its feet at startup?* the Speed Does Not help you What-so-ever. you're just adding more Lift. Generally when making a Rolling landing in the KA-50, I go no more then 20-40 KM/h, i've done fine keeping those speeds. for a Hover *which I prefer actually* just Toss the stick around *slightly* to stay level and ease the collective Back for a nice smooth descent, and then once the ground effect kicks in and kills your ability to descend at the collective setting, drop the collective just a Slight tad more, and......Picture perfect Helicopter landing :juggle:

  15. mmm yes, Developer comment might be good on this, I fly a 172S Regularly here in Colorado, things to Note about Icing it Requires Visible Moisture - Ie... a Cloud, Rain, Sleet, or Snow the temperature that Icing becomes a big factor is a bit below 0*, and the reason for this - the faster it's moving, the more friction, more friction more heat, Airplanes do their own De-icing work to a *Small* extent :pilotfly:. by that standard, why do my engines die when flying over the mountains in partly cloudy weather? - when avoiding clouds, the aircraft should have No need what-so-ever for Anti Icing in temperatures well below Zero. a Cloud at that altitude is something to worry about though :noexpression:
