  1. I've filed a ticket too, but no response yet from Virpil...
  2. i had same problem this weekend, but my case was slightly different. flight #1 i had 4 mavF, launched 3 of them and then got jumped by a J11. Ended up having to emergency jettison the remaining mav. After that fight, I RTB landed, refueled and rearmed with same loadout. Headed back to target area, un-harrassed this time, and only 3 of the 4 worked. The last mavF would not fire, not uncage, not even zoom its FOV. It was the same pylon as the one I had to jettison.
  3. ok! few hours of mixed T50 f18/f15 and TMW f16. The precision is unmatched for the T50! I dont know if its the soft center T50 vs "no center" TMW, but I can always tell ( / better tell) where my aoa/attitude is and able to recover/adjust easier/faster/more instinctively. Maybe its just new-buyer-honeymoon, but I dont see myself reaching for the TMW anytime soon. It is pretty awesome being able to have center stick and side stick wired up at same time and being able to jump between planes so easily.
  4. yep... in SP i can hold 60ish, but MP, its stuck at 30 no matter what.
  5. I will try that out! Maybe I don’t even need ptrac/atrak for mavF to lock either.
  6. Thanks @Tholozor. I found that the ptrack with tdc depress was enough to ensure the mav centered on the specific point after first starting on the tgt wpt. I also found, that after each pass, I need to undesignate and then re-click the tgt-wpt each time. Its like the hills or the >50deg turn away from target would lose the original saved location for the tpod. Every pass and turn away i could see the little tpod marker on the SA page suddenly jump away from where it had last been pointing. That seems wrong, but at least I have a sequence to reacquire the tgt wpt more consistently, just depends then on how far off the final targets are from that point. I do not get this behavior when up 20k+ dropping jdams... so it must be something about the lower level and hills that are causing the tpod to go dumb with its last know position.
  7. Thanks @silverdevil. I didn’t see anywhere in the video where they were using a steerpoint to slew the tgp to though... just manual slewing.
  8. I must be doing something wrong with this setup. Both online and offline this same issue occurs where I cannot use the tgt waypoint cleanly.... Use Case: 1. Setup F18 with TGP and 4 MavFs 2. Setup a steerpoint at the target area (say Khasab) 3. Enter AG Mode and select first Mav F on left DDI 4. Select FLIR on right DDI, switch from CCD mode 5. Select steerpoint on MPCD on HSI/SA page 6. Select "Target" on the MPCD 7. Watch FLIR auto pan to selected steerpoint (GOOD!) 8. Make right DDI/Flir SOI and refine target crosshairs/zoom, etc 9. Click TDC depress.... flir picture (crosshairs) does NOT change (BAD) 10. Select left DDI and uncage Mav F, watch it auto pan to steerpoint (BAD) 11. Note it did not plan to where FLIP is looking (BAD) ....... 12. Undesignate on TGP, watch it jump to snowplow/forward (SUPER BAD) 13. Slew manually all the way back to intended target area (SLOW/BAD) 14. Click TDC depress... flir crosshairs NOW correctly are locked onto target 15. Select left DDI and uncage Mav F, watch it auto pan to tgp focus (GOOD) 11. Fire MavF and win the internet! It seems I can never get the TGP to select new target if i do not first undesignate from the steerpoint..which can be really bad if the caged position of tgp is well away from where it was previous looking at the steerpoint, effectively making the steerpoint useless due to having to re-acquire the area. I must be missing a step to get the tg-pod to be able to move OFF the steerpoint and still designate a target WITHOUT having it undesignate/reset itself...???
  9. Thanks for the feedback! Worth an hour to try it out and see how it varies.
  10. Spent/Spend so much time optimizing for 90hz and only sitting at 45fps 99% of time... Going to try out cutting settings even more and seeing if I can hold the 60fps split from 120Hz. Idea being that maybe 60fps reducing ghosting > a few eye candy pieces. Anyone else try this with any success?
  11. Alright... about 7 hours of use so far. F18/F15/P51. Amazing how quickly your muscle memory adapts! I can fly 80ft off the deck and I'm not in constant fear of buying the farm! It really is another level of fine-grained control. I hadn't flow the P51 in months, and keeping guns on target is always a challenge. I able able to take out 5 109/190s with serious precision (let's not talk about how many times I died getting to that 5 count :-) ). I've got the TMW setup for sidestick now for F16. I plan to flip back in forth by trying an hour in the F18, and then an hour in F16 to compare "feel" this week.
  12. Definitely not a lemon! Only had 15min to try out lightweight springs, my plans were foiled with delay of supercarrier.
  13. thanks @Ant0ine! I decided to try the light springs since I'm not using an extension and its great! I may try the no center cams in a few days, want to get a good feel for these first so I can properly compare!
  14. Fit n finish gets an A. This thing is super solid! Bit surprised how far out from desk the mount goes, at least 3inches more than the MonsterTech. Taking a bit of adjustment with throttle n pedals to be ergonomic and not having to overreach etc. I did notice the back and left take more force then right and forward but after flying for an hour it’s a non-issue and feels natural. Have the TM F18 stick on currently without any of my extensions. The force needed is crazy more than the TMW base. I may try the light springs while still using the default avia soft cams... any thoughts or recommendations are welcome! Will also take some getting used to as you transition from side to back to side. It reminds me of the cougar base vs the TMW with the socket is very fluid across directions. Would changing cams alter that behavior/feel?
  15. I’m not quite clear. Remove the screws on the t50 base or on the stick?
  16. Wow! It’s already delivered in less than 2 weeks! Packaged really well! Will see how the setup goes tonight!
  17. Starting to make me doubt my purchase :-\
  18. Well I started looking a good 6 months ago and did the research on VKB vs warbrd vs t50 and t50 seems the best choice/checked all the boxes. 99% of users with a good functioning product will not post, so you always get the lopsided forum threads/reported issues (not that that's a bad thing, just perspective/statistics). And this gives me something to look forward to instead of just more weeks/months of Covid WFH :-) And finally.. I'm helping the global economy :-)
  19. Most recent posts have me a bit concerned but figured I need to get off the bench and just order now that it’s in stock. Fingers crossed that its a good build and avoid a lemon! Goal is to use the t50base and an extension for center stick with TM f18 grip and then use the warthog base and grip for f16 side stick. Now the delivery waiting begins!
  20. Thanks for clarification!
  21. Is the pilot body not (no longer?) modeled in the F16? I've hit the command, RShift + P but it doesn't load the model/texture. 2D or VR.. nothing...
  22. Ugh! Well my Throttle just seems doomed. :surrender: The microstick is just cursed. :disgust: I got the last remaining spare in the universe from Habu_69 (thanks again!), brought it to a electronic shop to desolder and replace last week. Expected to pick it up and re-assemble cougar that day.. then I get a phone call... They had their iron on too high and burnt out the PCB board!:mad::mad: :furious: Fast forward another week, and I get a call that they have repaired/retraced all the burned lines on the board. I reinstall/reassemble.. plug in... and go to calibrate... same poor results (probably exact same) as before. The Y and X axis are somewhat registering in TUSBA software, but only the X axis Forward is showing in Joy.cpl correctly. Center is off, Y axis no movement in Joy.cpl. The button depress is fine. Between the replaced Ant control, Elevation control, HAL throttle sensor, TUSBA R2, and Microstick + labor, I'm probably $250 into getting this thing refurbished. I guess the nostalgia is wearing off due to the time and frustration. Attached are five pictures of what the TUSBA reads vs joy.cpl as an example in case someone runs into this in the future too. I drew little Red arrow to indicate what each app is registering. Maybe its the main board, maybe its some wire issue, I'm at a loss.
  23. Thanks for clarifying all that VpR81. Does anyone have both the WarBrd and the T50 base that can comment on their relative centering/cams?
  24. thanks for the feedback. I see some recommend the warbrd, some the T50, some "virpil" and some VKB. hmmmm. :-) Something new I learned with that the Virpil bases require an adapter.
