  1. I've had Reverb G1, gave it to my dad, then got a Reverb Omnicept, pretty happy with them both. Just got my hands on a Crystal this evening with a 4090 and 14900. Comfort not awesome but I'll cope. Visual clarity and performance with Quad Views, freaking outstanding.
  2. I would assume that placing a lot of extra people, regardless of their status does reduce performance in the same way as civillian traffic. I am sure that's at least a consideration for ED. But yes as multi threading and core game performance improvements come along, that would be great.
  3. Yes, turn off Turbo in Quad Views (Look up the Quad Views Wiki For how to do that) and instead turn it on in OpenXR Toolkit. (Same net result according to mbucchia) then the advanced FPS will show both CPU and GPU frame times.
  4. Could someone clarify please? I have been trying to use the HMCS to get my TGP on to a point track for the purposes of AUTO Hand off to an AGM 65D correctly boresighted but this does not appear to be working even though it should.....? Is that the current state of play?
  5. It does sound like 72Hz is the way forward for high speed simming.
  6. I am on a Reverb G2 Omnicept which has eye tracking and a few other bells and whistles. So these days with QVFR in action I’m on full resolution but in the past when I struggled with performance, I found dialling down the resolution 10-15% would help me get over the 45fps frame rate requirement of 22.2 and I could barely notice the resolution change. Same in the other big sim. Works for me and many others.
  7. I'm signed up. Can't quite get on board with the Crystal yet when it is at least possible that the VR1 will be same picture quality, more efficient lenses (hence lower native render resolution for the same screen resolution) and better quality build, if the images are anything to go by. Additionally, my understanding is that the VR1 comes with only one lens type which has a claimed 125 degrees horizontal FOV. If this is true, I'm sold.
  8. I'm not sure "wasting" is quite the name for it. I appreicate what you're saying but there is a realitvely small loss of clarity for a dispoportionally large gain in performance. Reducing that native render resolution is well worth thinking about.
  9. Do we have reason to believe that 72HZ will in fact be smooth?
  10. So are you suggesting that the render resolution should be lowered?
  11. Hi, the two tankers in "Dawn Raiders" Viper Mission have there Tacan frequencies swapped and the incorrect frequency for AL DAHFRA is listed in the mission briefing and pre selected on the DED. I know we can easily look up on F10, just saying (It's 251.1 not 251) Cheers.
  12. If you go to: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ You should be able to search for something that will do what you're discussing. You will find "single mission" user files listed under the "Type" menu option and then you can place this mission file in your saved games directory, you will have to look that up depending on what type of install you have. Welcome to the obsession!
  13. But it's performance I need......! "I canny give it any more Jimmy, she's gonna blow!"
  14. Sheesh...! Seems like he's given them a fair shake. I do remember a lot of us that bought the original HP Reverb G1 and had cable problems at the time, in fact i had a HMD itself fail. I called them and I kid you not, within 24 hours another HMD landed on the doorstep as a replacement. Then a cable failed, same 24 hours later another one arrived. My dad now uses that 3 year old G1 with no problems at all. Perhaps that's just too expensive to make money but that sort of after sales support is just unheard of with Pimax unless you're a Tuber. I sooo want to give this headset a go but I will have to hold fire for now.
  15. I don’t know of anybody having a particularly good experience in VR with DLSS in that other non military sim. I’ve tried it too. Barely noticeable FPS improvement if any and clarity sacrifices all around. I hope ED have done something better than the other mob.
  16. @MichaelJWP15 and @Gunfreak can I ask what GPU you’re both using and what have you stuck with default resolution with QVFR? I’m trying to gauge the prospective performance of a 3080ti.
  17. Might be worth thinking about if they had the wide FOV that they have been discussing. We’ll see.
  18. Historically, I don’t believe many people have had a good experience with VR and simming using DLSS but don’t rule it out down the track. Anything that even helps a small degree might be useful.
  19. In Australia the Aeronautical information publication or AIP certifies them to 25 nautical miles and 35 degrees either side of the localiser course. In any case certification or service volume ans the FAA refers to it and visibility of glidepath are two entirely different things. Trust me, all glideslopes the world over are certainly visible well beyond 10 nautical miles, ask anyone who flies a real airplane.
