Yes! Really, really nice! Very much needed. Thank you!
-
That's interesting, I have to look at that. However, I don't think I have the 1975 SFI Part 2 at hand to check, do you have a link? Thanks! EDIT: Found it. The 1975 SFI is for AJ37, not AJS37, so that might explain the difference in pages. However, the Aj37 chapter may include common things with the AJS37 variant. Which chapter in the 1975 SFI are we talking about?

Feedback Thread AJS-37 Viggen Patch, Dec 16th 2022
widen76 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
That looks great and we need that included in DCS for sure! Would you post it for download? That would be so awesome! Since everything is modeled nicely and true to real life in the cockpit, why shouldn't the camo on the outside be 1:1 as well? Really nice work, let's keep our fingers crossed that HB includes a correct livery in the future. (Note: Edited original text for this specific part of the post) -
Just a small update, celebrating breaking the 25% barrier with 160/600 pages done, still work-in-progress of course: See the document here!

So true! It's quite meditative to do this conversion actually. I have now also set up a small PC (Intel NUC) for this sole purpose, with just Office 365 installed. That way I can just switch over the monitor input to that PC and focus entirely on the conversion. Of course with coffee close at hand and some Spotify in the headphones! BTW, I'm on page 134 now, so progress is there...

Thank you so much. Now that autumn is coming, I will resume on page 48 and onwards. I will keep you all posted in this thread with updates

Feedback Thread - AJS-37 Viggen Patch July 21st 2022
widen76 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Me too! Doing a high alpha aerobraking landing, without nose dropping, is what the Viggen should be doing at its best! Does this mean that we don't have to use that landing gear patch anymore? -
Doesn't seem to work on MacOS Monterey 12.4. Fixable? Thanks! Here's the error from Terminal: Could not initialize mixer (result: 0). Mix_Init: OGG support not available Saving session... ...copying shared history... ...saving history...truncating history files... ...completed. Deleting expired sessions... 3 completed. AJS-37 Viggen livery wishes and discussions
widen76 replied to CHSubZero's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
I would love to have the correct original M90 splinter camo. The plane is so carefully modeled, but looking from the outside, the camo is mostly wrong. Look at the left side of the body and compare to real life pictures, some great differences there. The first one to release a new skin, with an adjusted and corrected M90 camo wins a price! I'm even considering getting into livery-making just to fix this rather obvious flaw. -
DCS: AJS-37 Viggen Sound Effects Fixes
widen76 replied to Devrim's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It sure is. I'm running OpenBeta 2.7.9.18080 (January 2022) and even with the long list of updates to the 37 contained in this patch, the enginge sound has not been fixed. Added the Devrim fix using OVGME and it works perfectly, no more loops or hiccups in the engine sound! -
Thank you, it's a lot of work and I realized that part 1 consists of over 600 pages *gulp!* But hey, let's do this! Here is a PDF of the first 47 pages created, work-in-progress of course: https://mwiden-drive.mycozy.cloud/public?sharecode=48CbTbDAeY3T

Resin model kit alert: 1/32 Viggen by Jetmads
widen76 replied to AngleOff66's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Thanks for sharing! That really looks like a daunting kit, with the resin and all. Lots of cleanup needs to be done on that one! Would love to see some final pics of it! -
The next installment is on the way, SFI AJS37 Del 1, which is the public document that was never classified. However, this is a special variant, coming from the F15 Söderhamn fighter wing, with some pages specific to the F15 pilots and crew. Attached are a couple of pages of work-in-progress. Thanks to everybody who has given me feedback so far, keep it coming, much appreciated!

SEPECAT Jaguar Squadron exchanges 41 Mike flying the AJ37 Viggen.
widen76 replied to DrPepper.se's topic in AJS-37
Wow! A big thanks to you for sharing that, love it! -
Hi all, For me, as a true Viggen freak, the M90 camo gets me hot, turned on actually. But what I see from the liveries available there isn't a true 1:1 camo real-life variant? The standard DCS variant has many error especially on the fuselage. I have downloaded a few liveries but all seems to follow the standard template. I don't have enough competence to do it myself, therefore the question Thx!

AJS-37 Viggen livery wishes and discussions

@Saab87 So cool! -
This could really come in handy! Nice work and thanks for sharing!

Thank you for mentioning it, I will certainly have a try with that one as well.

You know, that's very kind of you and all help is appreciated! The base translation has been done by automation in MS Word, it's really practical, but needs editing where translation is lacking. Also, the auto-translate often misses some crucial grammar and sentence building. When version 1.0 is done, you're more than welcome to do some proofreading, I will post the link here in this thread. Thanks!

Thanks guys! I'm now the process of translating it into english. Here is a rough work-in-progress: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RY0PL5KTbTrr6ruNS3k4rlKJHI5MrWRw/view?usp=sharing The goal is to do a proper translation and not just run it through Google Translate. There are many differences between the swedish and enlish labguage in terms of grammar etc. This should be done right. I have some help from the JA-37 SFI that is in english as well I'll keep you posted!
-
Thanks! This is my tribute to those who worked hard, including yourself, to bring these historically important documents to the wider public. Once you get into it it's kind of addicitve
-
Thanks man! Yes, Swedish is kinda hard to learn on a whim But hte English translation is on it's way, probably within a couple of weeks or so. I'm starting working on part 1 next week to keep things rolling. After the SFI's are done, I'm starting on converting ATIS 37 which is the documentation in the SWAF to learn to fly the Viggen, with excercises and stuff!
-
Hi, Being a Viggen "fanatic", I have started converting the existing photocopies of the SFI AJS37 documents as well as ATIS37. The result is pure editable documents, cleaned up and graphics replaced where possible, made to look like the original in every detail. Part 1-2 is done and available in PDF, Word (.docx), LibreOffice Writer (.odt) and Google Docs. Note that English translation is not yet available for SFI part 1-2, but ATIS37 has been translated to English ATIS 37 Update 2023-12-06: ATIS37 conversion is done! Both Swedish and an English language version are available for download. Provided are the Word-document, exported PDF-document as well as the Publisher-file containing all of the flight diagrams. Swedish version: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10Lqv760DpvqkRYWcLyKRwmhByMqKkEv0?usp=sharing English version: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WpN7lFGkwKAwL4GPLz-ZGPsq1F4XUUe6?usp=sharing SFI AJS37 Part 1: Update 2021-12-10: Creation of the document SFI AJS37 Del 1 (Part 1) has been started, see last post for details and screenshots. Update 2021-12-17: Work-in-progress: PDF of the first 47 pages available here: https://mwiden-drive.mycozy.cloud/public?sharecode=48CbTbDAeY3T Update 2023-01-29: 50% milestone reached, 300 of 600 pages done! I will continue with the goal to have it completed by April. An english language translation of the document is also planned. After that I'm thinking about converting the ATIS 37 (Viggen training) document, that could be cool, right? Update 2023-04-24: Yes! It's finished! After a lot of hard work, it's finally available for download. What a journey it has been!
