  1. definitely old but it fits the timeline for the DCS F-16 model iirc. Wait a sec. made me think, That trailer should of had that tail number be a 79th jet since it is modeled based on 2007 :P boo! Give us a 79th for the first skin! Or better yet a 13th from Misawa since its designator is WW and once the F-16 is in game it will show the F/A-18 how SEAD is really done! Go Wild Weasels!
  2. Ya, we would get F-16 landing with over G and have to do an ANNOYING over G inspection, stabilator is always fine. This type of issue/accident is definitely rare! That said I bet someone didn't do their preflight correctly because you are supposed to grip the trailing edge and try to flex it to see if it has movement iirc. Once it gets too mushy or too much movement you should replace it. edit: the more I think about it the more I think I have seen this before, so maybe not that super rare. But should of been caught before flight. imho someone is getting their butts chewed out over this..
  3. Someone on the forum here iirc did the math and showed that the tail hook would stop the plane just fine for an abrupt stop. That doesn't mean the airframe will survive it or the gear will not collapse cause the f-16 has some thin gear struts, maybe if you greased the landing it might not collapse, but that sucker would be in a depot level maintenance for shure!
  4. Lol got me there. It is dirty! ( part of it is the have glass and the other part is cleaning those suckers is a PITA! )
  5. Holy cow, I feel defeated, Air Force aint got nothing on what the Navy does! That is some serious pilot shaming! Also love the windup toy one! that is great! Also also :P, what does the army do?
  6. Great work on the trailer! I like the choice of tail number and squadron. its a little better than any 55th you might have chosen :P Just a quick question tho, Is the first skin 55th or 77th? Trailer showed a 77th skin but the info post about systems states that the first livery will be 55th?
  7. I feel much better. I am looking at that tail number and thinking to myself that is not a 77th, I worked on it at the 79th. I guess the 77th needed working jets so the 79th had to help out! :P Here are some pics of it with its true colors and proper squadron! Go 79th!
  8. A very common thing to do to F-16's when they deploy to another base for redflag or almost anything is for someone at the base being visited to sneak a squadron sticker on the inside of the air brake. When the aircraft is shutdown you can force the air brakes open and closed by hand and there is a lot of space for stickers that may least stand a chance of being missed until some time after it gets back to its home base. If we got to have a 55th jet for the first livery, can you add another squadrons (or maybe an ED/DCS/Fighter collection logo) sticker in the air brakes as a good laugh / easter egg? :P Thanks for reading my insane ideas :P
  9. Outside the canopy mounted near the radar like old timey japanese sports cars (where it was mounted on the hood) is my vote if we got to have them. (And yes they should rip off once you get some speed :P ) like this image.
  10. Ok, I did some stalls with the same loadout as above. It definitely feels like it wants to mush more than nose over. not quite a aft of CG effect, more like it is really close to becoming aft of CG but not quite. Anyone else confirm this feeling with the mk84's? If it is CG effects that is awesome!
  11. cool, I do own the advanced version. I will ask them about it! Thanks!
  12. Do the Mk-84 give the C101 CC an aft center of gravity (or at least a poor one)? My next test is to see if a stall is unrecoverable with this loadout cause that would just be AWESOME if it is the case! I loaded up the MK84's, 19 pod rockets, and magic's, and as much fuel I could load to get the craft to right about max weight. After I took off and was flying around (very hard with this load out, normally a dream.) I noticed that the aircraft had a huge reaction to pitch inputs until I dropped the MK84's. I am just asking to see what the case it, as per the first sentence I think it is overly aft CG effects, but I am curious and wanted to make sure my guess was correct! Thanks for the awesome module!!
  13. for the C101EB I can eject on runway and then still fly the plane. The C101 CC does not do this. Awesome jet btw! love the little effects like the landing lights making wind noise!!!! cc101EB eject and control.trk
  14. Hello all, I had a silly idea in mind and it would require me to be able to get real time data on the planes speed, aoa, AGL, MSL, and all the other info pertinent to flight. Is there a way to get this info from some sort of simple API or parseable output? Would Tacview advance with the live output work, I am unsure if I can piggyback the info from it. Anyways I just need to get that info as near to real time as I can, just for the plane/heli I am flying, I don't mind any other plugins I might have to use to do this. Thanks in advance for any info!
  15. The Huey and Hip in game already have the option to remove ALL weapons and pylons and optional armor they have. All ED would need to do is decided to do it. Also given that they seem to be planning on releasing a few helicopters soon ish it would be good advertising for the new stuff, as well as proof to anyone undecided on it about how good they model helicopters.
  16. DCS is famous for a lot of things, Having one of the best helicopter sim experiences is one of them. I think you should look in to adding an unarmed version of either the Huey or Hip to the base free game. As an owner of both those modules I would not feel ripped off and I think that it would help Helicopter sales by letting people try it and seeing how excellent it is. Also iirc DCS started as a heli sim with the blackshark module.
  17. https://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/ has a some helpful people and they have a training server with a wiki explaining how to setup multiplayer comms and other useful stuff. If you want to play MP you will need the Beta DCS for most online servers.
  18. I mostly worked on A2G Wild Weasel loadout iirc. Sometimes got bombs but the AGM-88 was the most common loadout I saw, Not a weapons guy tho so was not paying the most attention. That said I would do EOR a bit I would say it was rare to see a Viper not use AB to take off, centerline or wing tanks iirc. I could be remembering wrong however.
  19. haha, NP. I was there launching F-16's and got a photo pass for an old friend in the area who was taking the picture. I was just throwing them up cause it showed 2 different sunny mid day examples of AB. I also just thought it might of been related to the P&W engines since I only worked on them for a few months at luke for training so was not sure, both pictures were taken from same spot with same lens, but different focal lengths just to clarify the pictures themselves, Reason I figured P&W might be the cause is all the F-15 images from same shoot show AB somewhat and none of the F-16 do unless looking right up the butt. But I agree that seeing the AB during the day is completely hit and miss.
  20. Here are some pictures taken midday at Nellis. only see heat effects on F-16. and More visible for this F-15. I guess the way P&W AB is setup it is more visible, but I do not have any pics of a F-16 with the P&W engine.
  21. I would like an option. Since we can not feel all the additional feedback the pilot gets with his other senses, having that feedback portrayed in a sense we can use is very helpful. For example, a lot of aircraft you can hardly hear it when AB is engaged and you are airborne IRL, but that does not mean the pilot can not instantly tell from the physical feedback that the AB is on. Of course everyone can look at gauges and what not, but I prefer a sense based feedback for a lot of the stuff you might otherwise be able to detect with zero difficulty if you were actually flying the aircraft.
  22. Tell that airman to blouse his boots up, that is a mess! :P edit: I mean it is expected from a 55th but still... (79th all the way!)
  23. I believe it is for meeting an attack profile. for example in the Viggen some of the weapons should be dropped between .8 - .9 mach, and you would use AB1/2 to get there and hold that speed when loaded up. Full AB/3 and you will go super sonic and cant release, no AB and you cant even hit .8 mach
  24. Just some more info from what I recall, I saw this on CCIP upgraded block 50's at Shaw ~2008. (unless my memory is flaking on me)
  25. You can actually get custom detents for most all the dcs aircraft! https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace?tag=warthog is a lot of them.
