    Thanks NineLine!

Can't be used? Why? You can put every plane on every map.

The normandy map could be extended to the south by 20-30km to include Chateaudun. Me262s operated from there

    Fox

I think he means that it is not historically accurate.

Personally I like the planes historically matching the map if possible, but it is certainly not a very big deal for me. The other sim has matching maps and plane sets and yet ALL servers use fictional scenarios in order to make missions fun and engaging. Also, how are you going to make a dynamic war server with realistic missions? That's impossible.

In my opinion, realistic missions are for closed sessions with your squadron and curated mission but for public servers this approach doesn't work too well.

Hi all, newbie question with VAICOM, SRS and Multiplayer if anybody could help.

Loving the capability of VAICOM but struggling to understand the logic when using with SRS and multiplayer.

SO my understanding based on research is:

By default the SRS tx keys and the VAICOM PPT keys are set to the same.

When in Multiplayer the only way to have voice tx on over SRS is to say "SWITCH" before speaking? Or have SRS TX and VAICOM PTT switches bound to different to different HOTAS switches?

I fly the F-14 a lot so VAICOM is great for RIO voice control, but I also fly mission multiplayer so SRS comms is important also.

    Thanks for the help.

I think that you are right mate, and that's exactly why I don't use that functionality and just use different bindings for VAICOM and SRS. Having to say 'switch' to speak over SRS is really annoying, just imagine in an contested battlefield how crazy would that be.

  3. @hornblower793It worked! It seems that VAICOM was using the DCS folder, not the DCS.openbeta. Actually I think that all my third parties app were using that folder so I deleted DCS.openbeta, went to DCS folder, deleted the Export.lua, made SRS create it with its correspondent line, added the line for DCS UFC and then I went to VAICOM settings tab. I selected the manual saved games path. put the slider on openbeta, and it is working great.

    Thanks!

Copy your old export.lua and then just copy the SRS and DCS lines back in

    Thanks again!

I have noticed that I have two saved games folders DCS and DCS.openbeta. Which one should I use? I use Open Beta.

Try deleting the export.lua in your saved games scripts folder and then restarting VA and then DCS

    Thanks, I'll try.

But I guess I should then install again SRS and DCS UFC for Android as they use the export.lua as well right?

We are talking about the fall line skewed off to the side, right?

    Anyway...

Here are some tracks. Choosing POS/GPS on the HSI seems to solve the problem.

POS/INS only will degrade CCIP over time and never recover.

POS/AINS will degrade CCIP instantly after a maneuver but will recover after a short period of time.

POS/GPS will not degrade CCIP when maneuvering.

EDIT EDIT: I did drop some bombs in GPS only and they landed where expected. So did INS until enough time had passed. but AINS was instantly broken with first maneuver.

Interesting! I will try to test later.

@NineLine there should not be such a difference between the a10c and the hornet. Even less if one of them has AGR.

Yeah, and especially taking into account that I have dozens of hours in the F-18C and in the A-10C this was my first CCIP bombing run. And I mean, my VERY first.

  8.

So I have been testing more, I even tested setting the mission date on 1985 to force GPS off but with the same results. Tried also the default dumb bombing mission in Caucasus with the very same result, 4 drops and none hit.

Now, jump into the A-10C and you can consistently destroy small units with Mk. 82s. Also please note that it was my first time doing CCIP bombing with the A-10C (I know, I have to practice more) but even in that case, I am hitting the targets without issues:

If this is intentioned and there's a nerf on CCIP accuracy coming for all planes and the F-18C is the testbed, then I understand. But if not, there's something wrong for sure.

Only support will be able to help you

SKIPPED 'P-47D-30 by Eagle Dynamics': not authorized

they will need to know where you purchased the P-47 and then they will be able to assist you

Solved it! The saved games folder solution proposed above didn't work either but decided to try one last thing:

    1. Open DCS and go to modules manager.
    2. Deactivate and uninstall the module.
    3. Close DCS.
    4. Go to DCS/Mods folder and manually remove the folder.
    5. Start DCS again and you will be prompt with a message saying that you have the module available for install.
    6. Install and DCS will close and restart.
    7. Module should be available again.

    Thanks all!

before doing that, try to rename your /saved games/dcs.openbeta/ folder, this will force dcs to create a new default folder and if the p-47 works it will mean that the problem’s cause was within your saved games folder. Then you could copy back from the backup the /config and /missioneditor folders, to restore your basic config.

Good idea, maybe it is caused by VAICOM or SRS not being compatible with the new update for some reason. Or maybe a skin or whatever.

I'll report back in a moment.

    Thanks again.

you have this error for the P-47:

2020-12-19 07:13:25.861 INFO Scripting: plugin: SKIPPED 'P-47D-30 by Eagle Dynamics': not authorized

perhaps you have installed an aircraft user mod that conflicts with the P-47?

Thanks! But I don’t like mods so I don’t have any.

I guess this is the authorisation error some are getting but I tried the workarounds proposed by @BIGNEWY without any luck.

  12. Hi!

My P-47 just disappeared after the last update. It is not even showing up in the bottom bar (you know, where there's the icons for all modules and you have in grey the ones you don't have and coloured the ones you do) at all. Not present in the control binding list or mission list either. It is present in the module manager though, and showing as installed. I tried to uninstall and install again and nothing. I'm in Open Beta by the way.

It is not the authorisation error as I'm not getting any error message but I tried some workarounds for it anyways without any luck. Also of course I treied to repair DCS both the quick one and the long one.

    Any guess?

    Thanks,

Maybe this is fine, but what is 100% confirmed is that it's different than before.

Before, you could hit a tiny ant in CCIP, now you may miss a whole tank.

So maybe now it is more realistic, with the innacuracies of the real system.

It is a bug for me though, based on how exact the errors are every single time, so I don't think it is due to innacuracies.

You have a good point there! But as seen in Nineline videos in the other thread, it is working fine for him so I guess that it is something that we are missing, or his build is not entirely like ours.

Also, I think that we should be testing it using the same mission.

  14. Yeah I know buddy. I posted it on Reddit and had plenty of responses there. I posted it in another thread and Nineline said it was fine on his end. However, I tested it further today and I'm missing all my drops, something's off.

Others point an IFA issue related to the mission's date. If GPS wasn't available at the set mission year, alignment will degrade very quickly. I'm yet to test that.

  15. Hey guys and girls,

I’m finding CCIP bombing with the Mk 82s inaccurate. I set up a simple escenario with Strelas and air start but my bombs miss a lot of time.

I remember that while I was learning DCS I practiced with the Hornet in CCIP and had a high impact rate. I was very surprised about how easy and accurate it was, especially coming from WW2.

Now I have way more experience yet my bombs miss although I do the 30 - 45 degree dive, line is aligned, etc. all by the book.

Despite this, bombs are always short or impact left or right of the cross and rarely hit the target. Now jump into the F-16C, and CCIP is pinpoint accurate.

Here I attach the track using Nevada default bombing mission and the corresponding video.

No, same build I have the debug screens activated on release versions as well for checking user issues.

Hmmm I'm releasing about 10.000 ft. ASL and you are releasing around 8.000 ft. Maybe it has something to do... I don't know, I'll test it later today or tomorrow.

But in a closer look I release my second bomb at 8.000 ft. ASL and still overshoot, maybe I should try with more gentle dive.

    Thanks for helping Nineline.

    Smaller you say? 🙂

Evil cows raiding NTTR... anyways you can see they are not perfect, nor should they be but I feel all three hits were well within expected distance from the target, especially one that was super hard to see.

Thanks again! But note that I'm more of a rare meat guy haha

Now, in all seriousness, obviously it is fine on your end. I have been watching my video and yours in order to see if there's any weapon setup difference and I can't spot one. Also, my approach looks stable and still my bombs are completely off. It is not just me as I said before, I posted this on Reddit and here and there's a lot of people noticing the same.

I observe in your videos that you have the X-Ray damage layout, maybe you are not in the same build as we are?

    Best regards,

  18. 4 hours ago, NineLine said:

So I tried it out, and I really didnt see an issue, obviously its not like a guided weapon, and can miss even with a subtle movement, but I never really missed more than 10-15m and in most cases could feel I messed up. Of course I have been head down in the WWII DM and such, so if I am missing something here, or you want me to try something more specific, let me know.

    Thanks!

Thanks Nineline! Indeed it looks good in your video and the bombs are on target. Is it possible that you try with small targets like a truck? What happens when you play my track? What kind of alignment do you have in your video? IFA or NAV?

Finally, is it possible to share your track?

It is not just me that have this issue and assure you that when I jump into the F16 my bombs are very very accurate.

Let’s try to find out but I would be glad to discover that the issue was on our behalf and no fix is needed.

  19. 8 hours ago, Joni said:

When a track is needed you don't have to wait until you see the bug, you have to force it.

Go and jump in the cockpit and start doing CCIP until it happens.

I'll do it today, it is done in 20 seconds literally as it happens every time. I will do the track with the dumb bomb training scenarios that come by default in order to isolate any issue with the ME on my behalf.
