  1. hi. I want to tell all my wingmen (3 of them) to hold position.

in the manual it says it is possible.

    I need to press

    \ then F1 then F8 (hold position)

OK so I press \ then F1 but I never see the F8 option (to hold position)

    any ideas ?

    thanks.

Its \ then F1 then F6 for hold position. I found in flight I have to use right alt+\ to get the menu to come up.

  2. BadCrc, I'm thinking about applying to BSD. I had DCS before it was world, way back to Flanker and lock on..where I started. But as a current WW2 prop head I have always flown DCS offline. I just didn't think I was good enough to go in MP servers. I love my KA-50, maybe I can find some help going on line with BSD. Ya'll take sort of noobies right? :D

  3. Once I learned to liberate myself from "AP channels always on, no exceptions", I found that I was a much better helo pilot. For instance, instead of retrimming every channel to change heading, I just turn APheading off, yaw over a bit until I get the right track, then turn it back on.. voila. If I'm in a hover and I need to sideslip to get a view around an obstacle, I'll turn off APbank, slip over, then turn it back on.. bam. It's important to view trim in a helo differently than with a fixed wing aircraft. Don't overuse it.

Wow, awesome tips! Why didn't I think of that? My Noob is showing! Thanks for the tips SH!

  4. Well I think you are also missing half of our blades. Don't tell me you kept this aircraft flying! Right?

Yep and sort of landed it.

    Sort of..

So I blew up a few minutes after landing, but I got it down!

  5. I'm East coast, a Black shark pilot (off line for three years now) but now looking to do something online. I'd say I'm still a noob at it. I can cold start it fast, fly it, land it and use the weapons but I lack the on line knowledge needed in DCS world. I need to fly with other rotor heads to learn. Let me know if you're willing to take a sort of noobie into your group.

  6. Wolf, I come into a hover around 50ft , keep the nose up and climb rate at 0. Slowly lower the collective, with small adjustments to to keep the nose up and the climb rate at 0 as you settle to the deck. Small rudder adjustments as needed to hold it straight. Oh I clear my trims before my hover,I find it helps me if I have the trimmer off/cleared. Of course this landing of half a chopper didnt go well!:music_whistling:

  7. It seems to work with mine. I do not get the studders as bad when there is a lot of action going on. My gpu says it is at 950 but with this running it maxes it out at 1096. Older card but the lowest I saw my frame rate was 17, playable not a slideshow like I saw before. So I guess it does help me. Thanks again for the find Mustang.

Edit: Hey Skate, on the other side of VA in the mountains so we saw some snow here. How did ya'll do on the East side? I got about 16 inches here.

  8. I notice that when I get close to any action I get a frame drop to almost single digits. That could be my 4gig ram or the card. So to make sure I'm doing it right...I pick my DCS.EXE as the one to block, fire it up,make sure the icon turns red and I should be good to go? I use HWMonitor to watch my temps and amount of gpu and cpu used and the gpu tweak that came with the R9-270.

It would be nice it this would stop the frame drop and save me from buying more ram(yes I know, I need more anyways). Back to testing.

  9. oh ok, I see. In settings under game play on the right side is Avionics Language, that must read English as well... default say Native. Did you change that? I'm not modded and you shouldn't need a mod just to have it in English.

That's about all I know to do.

Edit: one more thought under gameplay/difficulties do you have Avionics mode checked? I don't, maybe that has something to do with it.

  10. Tested with the A10, the FC3 planes and the WW2 planes it's only the BS that I get this. I did at one point have a mod for the cockpit. Blue instead of black. I removed it did a repair on DCS and still have it. It's not a big deal but I'd like to know whats causing it. Hey Mod's Thanks for moving this. I wasn't sure where to put it.

  11. My gpu more to the point. I just updated to 1.5 and I have never seen this before now. This is with High settings checked and no mods. I have not tested it in any module but the Ka-50. Anyone else seeing this? I run a R9-270 2gig card. Not overclocked. I'll try turning the settings down and see if that helps. It just baffled me because I could run on high with no problems before.
