  2. Hi I'm Florian from Germany. I was used to play games like Crysis, Battlefield 1942, Company of Heroes, till I discovered the more "mature" games. I am the kind of guy you would not expect to play a sim. I'm studying, making party and stuff, some people think I can't even turn on a PC but when I have some time I become a soldier in ArmA 2 and a Pilot in KA-50 ;-)
  3. No I manually landed and positioned correct over the road as far as I remember. Just watched it again. I make some things I dont have to like asking if I can start engine even when I already started them but the landing I would call nice and very smooth. Then the gear touches the ground, and starts jumping like a low rider, it really looks like a damn low rider helo ^^ and then explodes.... I mean, I would say it's a bug because it just jumps that strange, but others have done this mission can only be my fault. Watch it yourself and have fun watching it jump ;-) Another question: Why doesn't the tower answer me when I ask for takeoff. Tower answers when I ask to start engine and to hover. Or do I have to ask in a specific row ? Engines -> Taxi -> Hover -> Takeoff ?
  4. Hey I tried to complete the Courrier mission. Yesterday I failed while landing at the ship cause my gear broke during that. I then crashed with the rotor in the ship. Today I even failed landing on the street near the car. It's like that: I go into autohover, decellerate, let my gears down, manually position over the street near the car, land, suddenly the ka50 starts jumping, I try to reduce it and even switch the rpm to idle but it continous jumping till I explode. I uploaded the track on rapidshare. http://rapidshare.com/files/284061555/wtf.zip.html (It's called wtf because I was like "wtf", so dont be scared) Is there a way to fast forward a track ? I think I crashed after maybe 10 or 15 minutes after start. I could think that I maybe had to push the cyclic forward, but hm I don't know, I landed often safe before using same way. And I pushed the cyclic forward, only way then would be that the damn new trim didn't noticed my input because it didn't center right before. But I think you know it best. Could a mod move thread to "Missions/Tracks" ? Thank ya greets Cionara
  5. As long as they don't fire a 800.000 € Storm-Shadow cruise missile on 'em.... But im alyways fascinated that you can just get blown up out of nothing from something far away one can't see. AC-130 is one of the meanest. I hope I will never have to meet such a beast.

  8. Yea I know but they answer damn slow... And yes I had a VX3000 lying around here so I setup Freetrack with it. I can't notice any stuttering there. It's not as precise as the TIR 5 and also twitchy but I can make easy fluent movements with it and I don't see stuttering there. Hm there are some threads about lagg/stutter with Track IR 5 but natural point didn't answer. They just get your money and run away. I maybe spend 8 hours on this problem and still didn't get it fixed....

  10. Thanks for the answers. I think you need the program FRAPS to play it because i recorded with that, sorry forgot to say that, couldnt convert because otherwise it would become laggy and stuff. I got Vsync always enabled. And strange thing is that it stutters in Track IR software, too. As far as I know the software is running at 30fps capped. I started the games with FRAPS and the microstutters occured while I was at constant 60/30 fps. It's not my system. I guess it's something stopping the input or the infrared for a part of a second.
  11. Ok I uploaded a video, it's about 120mb and it would be very nice if you could look at it. It's short and big because I wanted to capture the microstutters at high quality and with 60fps. http://rapidshare.com/files/282233238/trackir5stutter2.zip.html It's annoying because it is damn fluent and then these little stuttering comes in. You know, some won't be worried about that, and others don't even have that fluent framerate. But it drives me crazy. I already asked in the forums if these stutters are usual or a known problem but they couldn't help me. Do you have this little stutters, too ? Best noticeable when moving very slow and in precision mode, also harder to notice when framerate below 55/60. They look close to the microstutters in fallout 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9OBNM8H8m4 But there it is a problem of the game enginge. My microstutters are in the TrackIR software, too. Could it be dust reflecting the infrared or something like that ? ^^
  12. Hi guys I want to know which camera is the best for freetrack. I already had freetrack with a Wiimote but connecting the Wiimote to the bluetoothstick which I had to connect to the PC first was annoying. Now I got Track IR 5 but it stutters and I dont wanna pay 150 bucks for some stuttering sh*t. Heard some people talking about freetrack and Playstation 3 Eye. Or do you know another nice camera ? greetz Cionara

  14. Edt (Sorry for doublepost but who cares nobody spams just to get Posts here) I edited the sounds like in Dragons german Tutorial. There were also other sounds I focused on. The TV3117 Engine sound in the cockpit. Should it be that loud because it is like that in real life ? Because I found it a lot louder then the original and even louder as the outside sound. I couldn't hear my radio anymore. The GearEnd-Sound is too long you have to cut it. The gear sounds are too silent and if I turn em louder my speakers nearly busted so I took the original sounds. Same with the cannon.
  15. Yea the trim is a b*tch but when you learn how to deal with and how it works it's very easy. Just center the stick very quickly after pressing trim and it won't dive that much (if you have a non forcefeedback joystick).
  16. I changed the middle LoD from 4 to 2, too. Cause nobody could say which cons it has to do that besides removing the bug,

  19. The microstutters almost went away after I changed Light Filter from 142 to 253. Really enjoying it now =)
  20. Yea got it working,too after forcing it in the control panel. I give you the advice to use 185.85 drivers. They run best for me in DCS Armed assault 2 and Crysis. The newer 190er only made problems.

Hi guys, I often noticed cracking sound in DCS when changing from pause-mode to ingame but now I noticed that I got bad cracking when the cannon starts and stops to fire, most noticeable in high-fire rate mode. Known issue ? In ArmA 2 the developers had the same problem. Sound was cracking with automatic guns. They fixed the Speed of sound simulation and now it's gone. Don't know if ED could do the same here if it's causing the cracking. And it's not my speakers because I have very good 5.1 Surround-System. Found a video where one hear the cracking, not as strong as ingame but you can hear the cracking very good at the first cannon shots:
  22. Download the patch, there's no reason why you shouldn't. The cyclic moves freely in training because the training missions got their own settings. To fly without force feedback set "forcefeedback = true" to "forcefeedback = false" in the producer.cfg in Eagle Dynamics\KA-50\Config folder. I think it will be hard to trim without automatic centering joystick. Just try it and you'll see.
  23. Hm couldn't get rid of the little stuttering. It's like when you want to move your mouse after pressing alt-c with track ir enabled. Not as strong as that but annoing. Also happens in ArmA 2 must be problem of Track IR. It's directly plugged into the mainboard. Which smoothing/speed settings do you use ? Someone in a forum said this (not long ago):
  24. Yea but you know, then just add more effects for users with multiple cores which they can activate. Single Core users get the same performance as before and dual/quadcore users get the opporunity to activate more traffic or animals or civillians or whatever :D Also the new Multicores aren't that expensive anymore. Get a Q6600 for a hundred bucks, oc it with standard Voltage to 3 Ghz and that's it. Dual cores are even cheaper and most new games/sims require them. Imagine ED would not have build in smoke because some people only have a Radeon 8200 8mb graphics card. You have to go with the time...
