  1. Problem is, for some reason, they decided to simulated a training version for the F-5E. Even de real Sidewinders and guns are unrealistic since this version is meant to carry only simulated weapons to act as "agressors" in Red Flag and other exercises against Phantoms and F-15´s.
  2. +1, of course. I made a poll about that in the forum of the F-5E. But there are no plans for that as far as I know and sadly I doub it will be. The integration of the NS430 in the cockpit of the F-5E would be a cheap substitute, but it would be better than nothing. At least it would give the F-5E all weather capabilities.
  3. OK, thanks for the answer.
  4. My question is: the planes with advanced or profesional flight model share that flight model with their AI counterparts, or all the AI planes have a less advanced flight model? Can we expect from AI planes like the F/A-18, Flanker, L-39 or F-5E a more realistic behavior than planes like the Phantom or the Mig-23 that doesn´t have a flyable module? And, if the answer is yes, do we have that advanced flight model for the AI even if we haven´t purchased (yet) the flyable module?
  5. +1 More accuracy would be always welcome.
  6. You are right. After several attempts I entered the plane into a inverted flat spin at hight altitude with full afterburner and after a while both engines suffered a flame out. Flame outs are simulated.
  7. Yeah, one can dream. I would like that version too. But it would be a total overhaul and revamp of the cockpit and the systems of the aircraft, new weapons that doesn´t exist in DCS "universe" and probably there are no data about... I thought the the F-5N was a more obtaineble version.
  8. Yes. It´s the kind of equipment you can find in a Cessna 172. But sometimes civilian GPS equipment is mounted in old military jets as a cheap field modification or something, so it´s not totally unrealistic.
  9. This is not the thread to say it. The tread to say it is the one of the NS430. The place where I asked for that integration, by the way. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=239273
  10. It´s your choice, of course, but it´s a limited plane since it has zero A-A capabilities. At the end, even prefering one role over others, I think is way more funny to fly a plane that can perform several roles. It adds variety to the simulation. Usually, people gets tired of making always the same kind of task.
  11. Question for the developers: are there plans for the integration of the NS430 into more cockpits? Specially the ones made by Belsimtek, like the F-5E, that lacks of advanced avionics and "all weather" capabilities.
  12. If you want a "mud mover" with similar A-G capabilities to the A-4, but supersonic and with A-A radar, the F-5 is your plane.
  13. It's not actually a really eficient search radar. Too short range and gets blind if looks down. Maybe you can find a B-52 at 20+ Mn, but not a fighter. The radar is used mostly in dogfight mode.
  14. That's a 100% different aircraft: different engine, different cockpit, different 3D model, 100% different flight model since the F-20 was to have Fly By Wire... It would not be an update of the F-5E. It would be a brand new plane that should be done from zero.
  15. LOL!:lol: Yeah, that´s why I said it would be a payware, it would be a particular well known version (F-5N, the one used by NAVY and USMC)... But yes, people continue saying "I don´t want that version, I want another one" or "I want weapons that the plane can´t carry or systems that doesn´t have in real life", or "ED should use time and resources in a new plane that nobody in ED have said a word about, but I want it"... I don´t want this plane to be "abandoned" by ED for the Hornet, the Viper or other. I want the module continue evolving and improving with updates and expansions, even paying a few bucks for it. And I want to know if other people think like me or I´m the only one and people have their attention centered in the new modules and this one is being cornered in their virtual hangars.
  16. I know there are no plans. I say it in my first post. Actually, I´m just testing the interes of the comunity in this module that is a few years old now. If people wants more F-5 even paying for it (updates, a new version, etc.) means that people likes this plane and there is still interest in it. If not... well, I suppose that the new girls in the neighborhood (Tomcat, Hornet, Harrier, Viper...) will be the ones people will fly most of the time in the next years.
  17. The C-101. First was released the C-101EB without weapons, and after several years, the C-101CC with weapons. Anyway, there is a first time for everything.
  18. Yes, Brazil, Chile, Singapore and maybe some other countries operate F-5E updated to "Tiger III" https://thaimilitaryandasianregion.wordpress.com/2016/06/05/f-5e-tiger-ii-f-5t-tigris-of-the-royal-thai-air-force/
  19. If you like something, you want more and better of that. As simple as that. If for you something is just "meh" at best, you don't care. For you, it´s OK as it is. Again, as simple as that. you can use use as much verbiage as you want. I don´t need it because I´m telling a simple truth.
  20. You want and older version of the F-5E? Great. Make a poll you too. I would vote YES, because I really like this plane and I want to see as much versions and improvements as possible of she in ED universe. By the way, I have said in other comment that I would be OK with other version of the F-5E. The one of Marocco or the one of Arabia Saudi, for example. ILS, INS and aereal refueling. I have said the F-5N in the poll because I have thought that it would be the most attractive one right now for most of the people, because is the version that is being used right now by the NAVY and the USMC and is the most realistic "sparring" against the new Tomcats and Hornets in DCS. But I would be OK even with an F-5A, the version that the air force of my country used for decades and already uses for training (F-5B). Because I like this plane, and I want more of she. But I suppose that actually I just want "shiny toys"...
  21. If you like this plane, it´s obvious that you would like more variants and improvements, and would pay for it. I´m not into helos, and I would´t care about new versions of the Huey, for example. Also, there are planes that I have purchased, and I actually doesn´t fly a lot, like the Mustang. I would´t care about a new version of the mustang if there were one. I suppose that people that doesn´t want a new version of the F-5E is because they actually don´t fly a lot the plane or they don´t even have it. As simple as that. But.. Eh! I´m suppose I´m just "slinging mud"...
  22. It seems that you don´t understand what I have said pretty clearly, or you don´t want to understand it, and also you put things in my mouth that I haven´t say. I´m not going to continue this conversation with you, I´m sorry.
  23. Well, let´s play to be the C.O. of ED and let´s say we know the way to maximize the efficiency of the resources of the company, as it seems you are doing. Doesn´t have sense to revitalize an older module with a low expensive (in terms of man/hours of work) update and get a few extra bucks to use in making new planes? With this update, you don´t have to do the most difficult and time draining task: to create the flight physics. Also, you don´t have to make a new 3D model, just some changes in the cockpit, you don´t have to make the investigation from a brand new plane or to purchase the license for a new plane... Not a lot of work, and your old, exhausted module will provide a some fresh money again. I´m sure that people that really love the F-5E and fly it will love to purchase a new version of the bird and any improvement the company can make, even paying a few bucks. People that actually doesn´t care about the plane, of course, don´t need or want a new version of it and would prefer any other product. All those "NO" votes in the poll, actually tell me that those people actually doesn´t love or care about the Tiger. Probably they don´t have it, or they never fly it.
  24. Imagine that you don´t have the F-5E and you want to buy a module today. Between the Tomcat and the F-5E, which one would you buy? Which one is more sexy and capable? They both are old school planes that need that older style pilot rather than computerized systems... Would you prefer to be Maverick or the uncknown soviet pilot of Mig-28? And, for the same period of time (80´s - 90´s) there is also the Hornet, the Harrier, the Viggen, the M-2000... I don´t think, right now, they are selling a lot of F-5E. If they want to sell a few Tigers, they have to upgrade the plane.
  25. It would work for me. What I want actually is an all weather fighter with INS and ILS, although just adding ILS, INS, air-to-air refueling, disabling the automatic flaps and slats and maybe an INS wouldn't justify, for me, a payware update. More likely a free update or a unexpensive one, just a few bucks. The new and "modern" (90´s technology instead of 70´s) radar and the new screen in the cockpit would be the key of considering it a full update to a new version of the plane. I have said the F-5N because this version is currently being used by the US NAVY and the USMC, and I thought it would be more attractive for most of the users (specially new ones) than the older Saudi or Morocco versions. Truth is, this module, as it is right now, has lost attractive since there are more capable and "sexy" planes in the DCS universe. It needs a "boost" IMO.
