  1. Just an FYI for those who never served on a carrier, the catapults are numbered from starboard side to port. The bow cats are cat 1 (starboard side of the bow), cat 2 (port side), cat 3 is the inside waist cat and cat 4 is on the port side of the waist (cantilevered deck). It is Catapult 2 on the bow that will kill you with the F14. It seems to act like your riding a bronco as you swing around, pivoting on the unmoving shuttle.
  2. This hasn't gone away for me either It seems to have a random factor to it. When this first showed up with the 2.5.6 update, I was able to switch out of full screen set the mouse into the lower left corner, switch back and it worked. Now I've found that doesn't work. In fact switching to full screen makes it so I cannot even hit the EXIT for the game, as the mouse won't move that far down. Worse I didn't have a mouse cursor in the flight window. This is like the old Nintendo cartridge voodoo. Start, stop, switch modes back and forth, start mission, stop mission, start mission...sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't.
  3. I stood a lot of watches in Alameda. I was part of a group of us who would take a person's duty for $$. As for sneaking into the EOS, I never had anyone sneak in that wasn't a watchstander.
  4. Well now we just need the Viking and have our F-14 working again!
  5. As a former RO on the Carl Vinson in her early days, I'd be awesome if they'd allow the carrier name to flow through to the comms. Then add the A-7 Corsair II and an S-3 and we'll have a 1980s carrier! Of course they'd need to add the IO to the maps and Gonzo Station to steam off.
  6. Without a functional trim, this plane isn't usable. I believe this has been broke for quite some time with the final straw the 2.5.6 update. It did not respond to speed brake movement as it is supposed to and did on the initial release. This also needs to work correctly for the trim to be working fully.
  7. Well... This is one of the F14 problems. Besides the fact I cannot launch even after cleared. I saluted until my arm fell off and ran down the tanks of fuel. But hey, I had the starter cart in tow since the ground crew refused to disconnect it. Guess it's a "No Fly Day" on the Stennis. (Those former navy guys who served on a carrier will know that). Although maybe we should just "shoot no loads"
  8. Same Problem but... I had to move the cursor several times exiting and restarting DCS before I could get a full screen usage of the mouse.
  9. Same Problem but... I have the same issue with the Alt needle. However, this happens only on initial launch of an F-14 mission after starting DCS. If I exit the mission and restart it, the problem goes away.
