  1. Yeah I'm thinking so. I'm certainly out of ideas at this point.
  2. Dear God, it's STILL disconnecting! Every time I think it's going to be ok it waits until it thinks I've got comfortable and settled and just as I'm really starting to enjoy myself the damn thing disconnects again.
  3. I assume you also did the same for the headset itself under Device Manager/Mixed Reality Devices?
  4. That could be the case. The problem is that just raising any kind of case seems to be a problem right now. I need to work out the best number to call in order to speak to an actual human being. Although as of last night and thanks to the contributions on this forum it seems to be working well now so perhaps I can leave it as it is.
  5. HP UK, meanwhile, seem to just be pretending that the Reverb was never manufactured in the first place. Not had a peep out of them and under my product on my account page is says that the Reverb is no longer serviced, whatever that means. ¬_¬
  6. Yeah I think this was the main in issue. I went through everything related to the reverb and unchecked any power saver settings. No more disconnects so far.
  7. Sigh, I thought at was at that point after following your suggestion re the usb root hub and power management. Still getting some disconnects though. I've found a few more USB type objects under device manager with power settings which I have now also adjusted so I'll keep experimenting. I still love this damn thing though. When it works it's just awesome.
  8. Yeah I had it disabled in SteamVR and that improved things but there were still some issues. I've just done about 40 minutes with no issues, so I reckon the USB root hub thing may have fully fixed the problem, fingers crossed!
  9. Thanks for the tip on usb root hub power management. I've changed that setting and will retest. By playing 'Trover saves the universe' for a bit ¬_¬
  10. Well I thought all my WMR problems were ironed out but I'm still getting issues. I've noticed that when the headset blacks out and DCS crashes, I bounce back to the cliff house, but now I have TWO instances of WMR running. So it seems there is some brief disconnect causing it to then fire up WMR in a second instance. I'll keep investigating but it may be worth getting HP to ship me a replacement.
  11. Yeah but that's what's been causing the constant crashing. Doing it the way I described makes it a lot more stable for me.
  12. It's quite simple to be honest : 1. Open Steam 2. Open WMR for SteamVR from within Steam. 3. Don headset and you should be a fairly blank environment. 4. Launch DCS. That is definitely a better experience in terms of stability than when running WMR directly from the desktop.
  13. It was working ok at first for me but in the last week it just keeps falling off a cliff for reasons I can't figure out right now. Opening it via SteamVR makes it much more stable. Clearly it's unpredictable at least. I'm glad its working well for you.
  14. Yeah that's what I'm doing in a slightly different way. I open SteamVR WMR first but the end result is the same.
  15. It's more that it seems to suck up a lot of resources and gives me lots of issues with stability. I've been tinkering a LOT with SteamVR because it was crashing constantly when in DCS. The biggest fix I've identified is to find the WMR for SteamVR app in your Steam library and run it from there. It then just puts you in a fairly bare space, no room. And then launch DCS normally. It runs much better now. And yes, the cliff house is pretty annoying to be honest. It just seems quite buggy and badly planned and all in all a bit of a waste of time.
  16. I've only just realised that there is a pretty significant difference between running WMR direct from Windows versus running WMR for SteamVR. WMR for SteamVR doesn't open up that quite frankly annoying room which then takes up a load of resources. Overall it's much more stable and efficient, and has made DCS run a lot more stable.
  17. Is that for all owners? Or just for those who reported a fault?
  18. It took me a while to notice the mura effect and I think once you do notice it, it also contributes to the SDE effect, as it's like looking through a slightly grubby window when you look at a single flat coloured surface. When I'm flying I don't notice it at all though. From the way you describe it I reckon O+ tech with Reverb displays would be pretty awesome.
  19. Tried that last night. I did still experience a a crash but it seems better than before, with none of those driver errors in the log file.
  20. Well I'm getting LOTS of SteamVR crashes. It was all running fine and then for the last few days it's been a massive pain the arse. I'll try a reinstall of SteamVR to see if that helps. I pulled this from the logs if it inspires anyone in any way. There seem to be assorted errors relating to various drivers. It's odd as it's mainly DCS where I encounter the problem. Running other Steam apps seems more stable but still not perfect. Oh well, the woes of the early adopter etc. Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.499 - Steam.exe 1.5.15 startup with PID=12848, config=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config, runtime=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.500 - vrclient type=VRApplication_SteamWatchdog Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.505 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\htc\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.505 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\lighthouse\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.505 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\null\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.505 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from F:\steam\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.506 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.507 - [settings] Load Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\steamvr.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.508 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from F:\steam\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.508 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\htc\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.509 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\lighthouse\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.509 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\null\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.509 - [settings] Load Default Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\settings\default.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.510 - [settings] Load Json Settings from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\steamvr.vrsettings Thu Jun 27 2019 00:12:16.522 - Could not create interface in driver gamepad from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\drivers\gamepad\bin\win32\driver_gamepad.dll. 21. Ah OK, I tried it last night and it was a nightmare. I'll have a go when I get home.
  22. At the moment SteamVR seems to be crashing constantly. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  23. Could be related to tracking, sounds similar to what I've experienced. Make sure you're room is well lit, and I also recommend a PCIe USB 3.1 card with SATA power from the PSU for your headset.
  24. Thankyou! Fortunately I'm mod free. I'll have a play!
