The ideas is that he save image of existing OS so he can past back in latter if he has no luck with a fresh OS install plus BS. "BootitNG" from TeraByte the software I use. Primarly a Boot Mannger but can be used as stand alone bootable floopy/CD. It will first create a floppy or CD image for installation purpose and/or run straight of the removable medium just created. It can create image to internal or external drive if supported in bios. The reverse is true obviously. It can create and/or resize patitions with out loss of data. (plus other stuff) And its fully functional and free. If instaled on HD as Bootmanger you have 30 days trial. but you dont need to install. Being a powerfull piece of low level software it is not for the faint hearted. Better to run BS of your girlfriends Laptop for now I think. Good luck ...Shad

Thats what he needs and hasn't found those options yet. I use 30% curve, 5% dead and limit saturation somewhat (not rudder)

We use ATI GPUs and they implement AA Multi sampling in there own fashion as you know, I've been reading others experience with AA settings here but its mostly Nvidia. At 1920 x 1200 this app doesn't need much AA. unlike some FPShooters in "urban" enviroments. Cheers, any advice is always good.........Shad

Hi Goat My impressions is that these days onboard sound is OK unless your a muso. 5/10 years back had many a fickle fight with sound drivers. And onboard was shit. 4 gigs is plenty or sufficient. My next toy will be a solid state drive, just a small one first.

Have been doing exhaustive Benchmarks while looking for stutter/anomalies/popups. For me: A.I. off caused slight increase in stutter and tearing, a few extra % fps. Hi/Low made no decernalbe difference in FC2 (some other titles yes). Vsync on/off no discernable difference AA settings yes to stutters. I now use a 4x box or edge not 8x Fullscreen on! Some connection to hi AA settings ( loss of 5-15 % FPS with "off"). Fullscreen off, low AA = no tearing, less stutter. yes a bit confusing. Shadows - All Planar a few % FPS increase Water as low as it will go, not much in FPS except High Phenom11 x3 720 @ 3.5Gig Win7 64 ATI 4850s 512mg x 2 (xfire) but still only total 512mg (limiting factor) 10.2 drivers At 1920x1200 rez. Shad PS Vsync wont work with Full Screen enabled!!

Sorry if I sounded rough, what I ment to say was that you have tried hard to get BS to run without complete success, many people have given good advice & it still wont run. The only logical step now is a clean OS +BS. Its a radical action only if you have the desire. Im not saying you should. But BS is a nice piece of work. Best of luck...Shad

Is this thread still running,,,Unless your willing to reload a fresh install of Win7 with current drivers your not going any where, sorry. Been there done that. Its a laptop, proprietary drivers some stuff works yes!! I do this all the time, try to get some old/new game to run again on an existing config, some times you have to start from scratch. I use a multi OS boot manger that can past in a fresh OS when needed. And then its which Anti Virus is installed, how many versions of C++ are installed (I know should not make a difference ??) what game do I install first. Some times it just doesn't work. And uninstalling stuff dosent always take you back. Sorry man I feel your frustration.

"Fog" is still there, "far clip" is a different function, though the visual effect is simillar some of the time.. Cheers

Hi Ven ...I too had trouble killing some T55 I setup in a test miz until I moved them out of a slight depression they were in. Then no problems. Have seen this behavior in Black Shark, numerous Vikhr at a single tank with out effect. Could be hight map problem until the vehicle starts to move. Vikhr thinks its hitting the ground ?? Cheers

Hi Mav I believe its a left over from lockOn and usually indicates primary target as specified during mission creation for the purpose setting mission fail/success parameters. After primary target destruction it would usually jump to next target as set in mission editor. I have noticed in A10 campaign it always seems to be set on a BUK SAM site in the distance. Send your wing to "Mission & Rejoin" He goes after this Sam & is soon a smoking hole in the ground. Shad

Could everyone put their knives away (actually in BF2 Project Reality pilots don't get one). What a optimistic bunch ! Robmypro, I agree it is possible, feasible and In time will happen. How many game today share the same engine. Yes I know its not the same thing. My only fear would be the house that produces this integration becomes the Microsoft of gaming world?? People band from its servers lose their jobs, cant even buy bread. Their family disowns them. They end up living in a old caravan in some derelict suburb and are forced live with an old P2-450 768Mg of PC100 & worst of all Dial up. Im hanging on to this dream & I remember flight sims with 16 colors (not 16bit) PS my son just walked passed & said "Im going to press escape", he was cleaning the kitchen, I thought "Oh no, are we allread living in a virtual world" But he then picked up his skate board and walk out the front door. Hi rob Im also from old schools sims like Longbow2, Falcon4, LockOn & recently Free Falcon5. I still miss the working campaibn & have a hard cover manual hidden away safe with other important docs. You will love the DCS series, Black Shark with its working cockpit, realistic flight model, exelant balistics and awsome firepower. And it looks good. FC2 is what I would call an afternoon snack while I wait for The A10 equal to the Ka-50. Cheers but dont throw away Falcon yet.

Couldn't resist that one. And I notice your Viper lover, cool just spent a few weeks getting FF5 campaign to run past 24 hrs. We lived Falcon4 back then. Hows your knowledge base. Got to over 70 hours and ran out of AI pilots to help man fights. . Cheers

Sorry cant help much but you can fly multiplayer mission. ...and NASTY is correct in my experance. Had similar problems with FreeFalcon5 (Falcon4) recently and it was the OpenGL User Interface causing the problems. (Originaly a glide app moved over to D3D) Cost me two weeks to get it running at a use able level, though it ran OK for many people.

Hi Renato I also use a boot manger (multi OS XP/win7 plus test OS) that enables me to image OS patition and past back in when needed. And my understanding is that now there is no deactivation code needed and I just reinstall using same activation code. Have done a few reinstall latley, new 64bit win7 up from 32bit version to find prefered basic install. The two OS thing could be a problem though I think OS change needs new code as I found with CPU up grade & then later with HD fail. Dont bother with XP/FC2 runs better on win7. Though give it a try with same code and post back.
