  1. Anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong here? Or is this a bug and I'm posing in the wrong forum? It's quite annoying as I'm trying to keep the carrier clear of AI until triggered or respawned.
  2. I think it would be an idea to have some patterns for escorting aircraft. Like a zig zag patten across the escorted group, this kind of patten was used during WW2 by the escorting fighters of bombers for a few reasons, like it was easier to keep an eye on the bombers and out for enemy fighters, also it meant the escorting fighters didn't have to slow down to the same speed as the bombers. It should be able to use the same options as the current escort (Distance, Elevation and Interval) but it maybe worth adding another option to that for the zig zag pattern like width (how far the escorting aircraft will cross before turning to cross again) so you could have them set to cross a large formation of bombers instead of one small group. Once again I'm not sure if this has been requested before and I apologise if it has. If anyone else has or knows of anymore types of escort pattern then do feel free to add it here too.
  3. I'm not sure if this has been requested before as I have tried looking and couldn't really find anything about how to do it, apart from a post mentioning that helicopters are the only things that can follow a ground unit (noting about orbit). I think it's something that needs to be added because in my case I would like to be able to have a group of the new F4Us flying CAP around a moving Carrier Group. But there are plenty of other situations where this would be useful, like the ability to have an aircraft stalk a moving convoy before attacking, or as an aerial spotter, etc. II hope this can be done as I feel the game could really use it, but I'm quite surprised this isn't something that hasn't been done or requested before and if it has I apologise in advance.
  4. Hey all, I have a few questions regarding respawning in MIST. The first is, How much more reliable is mist.groupIsDead over Group.getByName? I'm asking because I was looking up another issue and I came across a few posts as well as the wiki that seem to point at mist.groupIsDead being better at picking up when groups are dead. Now I was advised to use (a long time ago) this to make the death detection as good as it can be : if (Group.getByName('GroupName') and #Group.getByName('GroupName'):getUnits() < 1) or not Group.getByName('GroupName') then So I was wondering, would it be better for me now to just use groupIsDead over all of the above? Or is there still a combination like the above that makes the death detection a little more foolproof?
  5. Hi all, I'm back and messing around with the mission editor again! However I've come across an odd issue where any group spawned in on a delay either via 'Late Activation' or changing the groups start time wont respawn correctly with Mist. But will respawn absolutely fine if the group starts at mission start or is just set to 'Uncontrolled'. Basically when respawning the group loses everything it was doing and all the units have a -1 above their icon (see attached pics). I'm almost sure this never used to be an issue. nullDoes anyone know of a way to solve this? as the only method I can think of is to have the group spawn at mission start then have a trigger to deactivate them and reactivate them when I want them. Thank you in advance
  6. Bumping this in 2025! I can't believe this still hasn't been added yet and really is needed for WW2 missions!
  7. I too am having the same issue with the exact same error as rob10.
  8. Hi Flappie! Thank you again for helping me bug report this issue. I thought i had better also test them all after you replied just in case, and it does seem to give some interesting results! Like for me the Fw-190 D-9 and F-16A MLU did despawn (though i didn't have chance to test again). And I also had the same thing happen to me with the Yak where it what crashed into while still on the runway after landing! I was hoping that it was just down to a bug in the individual aircraft because aircraft like the F-15 seemed pretty consistent across maps and airfields, however it seems from yours and my tests to go a little deeper than that which could be why its never been fully looked into or fixed. Anyway thank you again for the help and reporting the issue, i really hope ED find a way of permanently fixing the problem.
  9. Hi Flappie, Thank you for testing them all, I've also done the same and along with your list you may want to add: E-2D F-5E-3 Ju 88 A-4 Mosquito FB Mk. VI P-47D-30 (Early) TF-51D Yak-52 I hope that's all of them!
  10. Hi ED, It seems as though an issue from way back is still here! It doesn't happen with all aircraft but the ones i have noticed it happen with is: F-15C F-15E B-17G C-130 It's easy to reproduce, mission edit those aircraft into a map and have them land, speed up the time till after 30mins from parking at a hardstand and see how they haven't despawned like they should. It happens on any map so it maybe worth testing other aircraft for the same bug. I have linked below a couple of posts with people who have had the same problem, however it kind of seems to have been brushed over / ignored. and I hope this gets fixed soon! Edit: To add F-15E to the list as well
  11. Hi all, I'm looking for a new replacement cable for the G940 Throttle, specifically the one from the PCB to the throttle head. I know there are people out there that have had to buy this cable in bulk and I'd be happy to take a couple off your hands. Thank you in advance.
  12. Thank you for your reply :) I already knew that I would have to remove that screw when I got the joystick, however I just opened it up again and it is THAT cable that's the problem . Well where all those little cables go into the plug on the circuit board were wobbling about all over the place! So I have done a botch fix and glue gun'd them down, now that PoV works up to 99% throttle :) But I doubt it will last to long and I for see more faffing with that cable and plug in the future :(. On that note do you have any suggestions of know of anyway to permanently fix that cable? Thanks again for the help.
  13. Hey, I hope you don't mind me also asking a question related to the g940 as I got one 2nd hand a couple of months ago. Is it normal for the top PoV on the throttle to partially stop working when its above 50% throttle? Left and Right still seem to work but Up, Up L+R and Down, Down L/R don't. The 2nd PoV all works fine. Thank you in advance.
  14. Hi BIGNEWY, Thank you for your reply, also may I just quickly say thank you and the team for fixing the last bug I reported (AI strafing issue). Ok I have attached the replay track as requested, it is 40mins long but don't worry most of the issues happen in the first 5 mins. May I also add that after running the mission a few times to get the save track I noticed some other issues like: At Needs Oar Point the AI sometimes crashes into the bush just before the runway (not shown in attached track file). And at Tangmere the AI will sometimes crash into the guard tower just before the runway (not shown in track). What is shown in the track is the 2nd aircraft just dives into the ground on landing. I'm begging to think all of England airfields need to be looked into as they seem to have been infiltrated by Third Rich bushes doing sabotage every time the mission is loaded. 15. Hi, I have noticed a bug regarding the AI landing to refuel and rearm at most of the airfields in england on the Normandy map. The issues are Needs Oar Point, Funtington and Chailey: At these airfields if you have a group of 4 AI then only 2 will land, refuel and rearm, the other 2 will just buzz about over the airfield. The other issue is that when the refuel and rearm is complete the AI will taxi back to the runway backwards then they attempt to take off facing the wrong way pushing hard rudder and crashing into a bush Tangmere Airfield: All the AI lands however only 1 AI will take off and the others will stay on the taxiway even thought the runway is clear. These bugs have been there for a while but as the map was still in beta I figured that southern England wasn't finished yet (considering the love that northern France got) and it would be fixed by release. Anyway I have attached a mission file, I hope it can be fixed. AI landingReFuAr issue.miz
