  1. With the foxy, in my Cougar, i've programmed, that when I press the S3 button less than 0.8 seconds, this acquires the normal function of the Pinkyswitch (FOV), if instead keep S3 pressed for longer than 0.8 seconds, it acquires the function of SHIFT.

    This is the Logical Flag that i've use in the foxy:

    ---------------------------------------

    BTN S3 KD(X1) DLY(800) KU(X1)

    DEF X2 X1 AND NOT S3

    BTN X2 Hotas_Pinky_switch

    ---------------------------------------

    Can i reply with the TARGET SCRYPT this flag?

    Sure...

    This is the Script-Code I am using - and it works as expected:

    // S3 as FOV (short press) and Pinky (long press)
    SetShiftButton(&HCougar, S3);
    MapKey(&HCougar, S3, TEMPO(FOV,0));

    Just adjust the TEMPO-Value as you like... :smilewink:

:smartass:

    Also: Weiter so!

  5. The never-ending hunt for more FPS has lead me to this thread, and I thought if this could be useful for us chopper-pilots as well. And: Yes! It can!

    This solution is mostly helpful if you have vour ABRIS and Shkval on one or two other monitors. So IMO it's a good choice to get rid of the redundant displays in 3D-View and additionally gain some more FPS. I'd guess that by disabling these displays 5-10 FPS more should be possible.

    Disabling Shkval in 3D-View

    Locate "SHKAVL_init.lua" in folder BlackShark\Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\SHKVAL

    Edit line 12 as follows:

    Original:

    purposes = {render_purpose.GENERAL,render_purpose.HUD_ONLY_VIEW}

    New:

    purposes = {render_purpose.HUD_ONLY_VIEW}

    Disabling ABRIS in 3D-View

    Locate "ABRIS_init.lua" in folder BlackShark\Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\ABRIS

    Edit line 11 the same way as above.

    Remark:

    "render_purpose.HUD_ONLY_VIEW" -> HUD-Only-View (Alt-F1)

    "render_purpose.GENERAL" -> 3D-Cockpit-View (F1)

    Hope it helps... :D

    Comments appreciated.

  6. I smell a Rafale export contract finaly :D
    Quoting BBC:

    The plane, a smaller trainer aircraft, had just landed in the besieged city of Misrata when it was attacked, they say.

    Well, it was not even close an hard opponent and it was not an air-to-air kill as most of us may have assumed so far.

    Not really a reason to go long on Dassault shares. ;)

  7. ... the most excitement you get out of the F/A-18 is the crappy old pod ...

    And not to forget the really boring carrier landings... :lol:

    As your're wishing the F-15E: Why not hoping for the EA-18G?

    Perhaps as an "addon" to the stock F/A-18. That would be cool and I'm hoping for it - at least for the F/A-18.

    I really would bet on that plane being the next one out of DCS' "Skunkworks". :thumbup:

  8. Boah!!!

    Btw.: Wie willst Du die Elektronik realisieren? Ggf. auf Basis von 'OpenCockpit'?

  9. Thank you . I will try first in a big format or clean start up. If not working i will go for Vista.

    Why old-fashioned Vista?

    Go for Win7! That's the future. :smilewink:

    For the activation code what you think was happened? unplugging the pc and re-plugging al devices can give a different config to BS and this is creating a new activation code?
    Unplugging will not change the config 'enough' for making a new activation code neccessary. But it's always a wise idea, when changing Hardware or makeing a complete re-install (OS, Game) to de-activate the game first.

    Concerning your performance-problem:

    The Tweaking Guide helped me a lot - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49434

  10. Hi!

    Actually I'm in the near of Orlando (FL) and I think, it's a good idea to take a good piece of hardware home. :-D

    As I really don't know where to look for a Cougar MFD in Orlando (or vicinity) I'm putting this question in here and hope that anyone can give me a hint where to get it.

    Btw: amazon.com is unfortunately not an option, as I'm a 'moving target' and don't have an durable (3-4 days) postal address.

    Hint: looking for this thingie http://www.thrustmaster.com/product.aspx?ProductID=168

    Thx in advance! :thumbup:

  11. Bucic, first of all I'd like to thank you for your detailed answers!

    But - long story, short - testing (even with imaging partitions) is time-consuming and I definitely like more learning and flying the thingie than to test this and try that... :music_whistling:

    So: I'll definitely move up to Win7 in a few weeks.

    Case closed... Thx! :thumbup:

  12. I hear you. Original post updated. However nothing except GC version and monitor resolution was needed evaluate my specs.

    Well, first I thought, the different resolution (1280 vs. 1650) was the solution for getting more FPS, unfortunaltely it wasn't...

    Are you kidding me? I thought that this 'puzzle':

    GF9600GT + 2,5 GHz CPU -> crappy FPS

    GF9600GT + 3,75 GHz CPU -> HIGH FPS

    was trivial.

    No time for kidding.

    You noticed? Your CPU is Doublecore - Mine is Quadcore.

    What's the exact brand of your CPU? Like to take a look at a performance-chart.

    Btw.: With my old CPU DCS:BS was running at ~70% (avg of all cores). Never saw 100%. With the new Quadcore the CPU is "idling" at ~50% (avg of all cores). If my system isn't totally screwed up I would expect much more FPS - especially as my graphics card should be able to produce them.

    Hmm... Thinking now about a re-install of my WinXP-SP3 - But not in the next three weeks. Or should I move up to Win7?

  13. See my post above. No additional comments needed.

    Sorry, but that answer is a little short, as the description of your rig is not really detailed:

    How much RAM has your GT9600?

    What clocks?

    Which driver?

    What's your game resolution?

    What's your OS?

    Playing in windowed mode or fullscreen?

    Additional monitor(s)?

    Meanwhile I got a AMD X4 9850 (Quadcore @2.5 GHz - big balls :smilewink:) but there wasn't the big advance in FPS as I had expected. The CPU is almost idling during game (20-30%) and graphics settings are kicked up to a reasonable value. Despite the new CPU that it's still around ~25-30.

    So, the GT9600 seems now to be the bottleneck, hm?

    Any other comments or helpful hints?

    (Except getting a new graphics card as well... :cry:)

    And yes: tweak guide was read and used...
