  1. Glad y'all like it. If I can ever figure out how to point the LUA files at new texture files, I intend to do some more work on it, but the stock texture doesn't have enough space for what I want to do.

    DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Scripts\materials.lua

    line #50:

    textures["INDICATION_HUD_KA50"] = {IndicationTexturesPath.."Indication_hud_ka-50.tga", HUD_color}
simply add a new line that specifies the path to your new textures file.

    Example:

your new texture file is named DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Resources\IndicationTextures\Indication_ladder_ka-50.tga.

Than add a new line (#51) to the materials.lua like this:

    textures["INDICATION_LADDER_KA50"] = {IndicationTexturesPath.."Indication_ladder_ka-50.tga", HUD_color}

now the code from your first post should be working.

  2. As useful as always, thanks for nothing.

Sorry for my bad manners Esac_mirmidon,

you are right , I owe you an answer:

I don't know what is causing this "positioning lag" in the FC3 planes.

And I'm also very sure that the culprit is buried somewhere deep in a hardcoded .DLL of FC3 and there is nothing I can do about it.

So I even don't start thinking to waste time to prepare a update for this mod that can be done easily by the Devs themselves.

    I'm so sorry.

  3. The real solution will be if PeterP or anyone can told us how to disabled the legs position for kneeboard for FC3 aircraft and just put them on the screen right bottom corner like vanilla.

    ...please read the documentation...

    KNEEBOARD_Tablet_Mod_PP_Beta1.8.5_for DCSWORLD_1.2.6

    [DOWNLOAD]

Sorry ,There is no proper ReadMe up to now - only install if you know what you are doing!

    Some hints:

"KNEEBOARD_BASE_MOD_Su-25T_Ka-50_A10C_Install_first_1.2.6" has to be installed first on DCS World 1.2.6 - The 'Base Mod' already works on the the 2u-25T and also for a possible A-10C and/or Ka-50 install.

After this step install Kneeboard MODS for other Modules only if you have them also installed in DCS World 1.2.6 - or DCS will crash.

Each Plane has a own image folder in:

    DCS World\KNEEBOARD_MOD_PeterP\Custom_Charts\

The view-port for the 2D Kneebord is called "KNEEBOARD" and works right now for all modules ( it will be separated again in a later release).

And I added a second Kneeboard for the Co-Pilot in the Huey. :

    Screen_130913_205525_zpsfda48351.jpg

Note that the Waypoints on the map are right now only visible on the Pilot-kneeboard. They are missing in the Co-Pilot Kneebord

    EDIT:

New version 'Beta 1.8.5' is up !

Now the kneeboard for the Mi-8MT is working - I placed it on the center console - so you can see and zoom in from all cockpit seats :

Here is some content for the Mi-8 Kneeboard :

I have two screens and run a Helios profile for the A10C on the second screen. Tonight I tried the Kneeboard for the A10 and got it to work (I surprised myself that I could do it).

However, the Kneeboard appears in the lower left corner of my second screen and is mostly covered up by the Helios profile.

What I need to know is where the viewport info is for the kneeboard so I can move it to the left side of my top screen. I am running both screens at 1920 by 1080. Can you just add a viewport called Kneeboard in the monitor file that calls up the other viewport files?

  5. ...from the first post:

If you want to post a info/bug/issue:

Sentence like "works buggy and too big- and/or cant move back" is just a waste of your and my time.- as I need to know the used module/cockpit and so on...Don't expect that I'm able to read your mind or knowing exactly what you are talking about without naming it exactly!

A picture is often more worth than thousand words.

...and don't expect me to answer things that are already explained and reachable via the first 30 posts and/or the forum-search or can be goggled within seconds. wink.gif

  6. Please recheck everyting.

I did simply cut the wrires and reconected them as shown on the qouted drawing.

*Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for any damage you do!!! Don't copy everything blindly!! Make your own thoughts if everything makes sense what I have wrote and double-check everything !!*

This image I made is based on my memory:

    like I said- "swap'n'mirror":

    motorwiring.jpg

You should be able to reconnect them on-the-fly (while the USB is connected) to check what you have done - but make sure you removed the power before you do this!!! Than plug the power back in to do a test.

Extend the cables - so you can do this without pulling them all the time!

    This shows my test- environment:

    test-stand.jpg

So- you can see that I had easy access to the cables all the time, and could reconnect cables if needed.- and I could test everything on-the -fly with the FFB-Test program.

If you provide me with clear photos of the connectors from the lower potentiometers (I don't feel like dismantle mine for you..;)) I can do a similar wiring drawing like above .

  7. Just checking if it's just me... Does anyone find Pete's settings make the HUD too hard to see? I couldn't see the HUD when on certain airports like Batumi, or if the background was sky/clouds.

Changed some of the settings to make it less bright and can see it better but not as good as default. Have tried HDR cold/warm/normal/off too.

Ps Pete, not saying your settings are bad. Just checking that it's not my own PC configuration :-)

    And thanks for the upload!

  8. EtherealN, thank you for taking the time to answer.

Do you have "Everyone" set on Contact info in your account Profile Privacy settings?

No, it's switched of since some years.

Also note that you can be sent mail through anyone that knows your name and has a google account, via their G+ integration (all Google accounts are now automatically G+ accounts). In this case, you can disable it in your Gmail settings.

This is disabled from day one when goggle established this service.

  9. Please ask me before sharing my email address/contact-details with your 'Partners'.

    THANKS!

    Let me elaborate:

Three days ago I got a invitation from: K2mil(via Tapatalk)

    <admin@tapatalk.com>

asking if I would like to join Tapatalk.

    See attached:

    attachment.php?attachmentid=92999&stc=1&d=1389638309

...I don't want to join - I get enough spam - I decide myself what I use to browse your forum.

Why you are sharing my e-mail that I used to register on this forum with others ?

Please don't do it again, or ask beforehand.

I don't remember that I gave you the permission to give contact details from me to others. I expect to get PM's from 'Friends' via the forum massaging system to my e-mail and only "ED forum administrators" are allowed to send me an email directly.

I apologise If I checked by mistake that you are allowed to share my e-mail with other.

    If this is the case:

Please tell me how to switch this off.

    Thanks.

Thanks in advance for all detailed answers that don't let me guess.

  11.

So can anyone fill me in on what I'm missing? I'm playfully curious since I'm extremely interested in the technology and the potential. Sorry for nagging or being off topic but I figured PeterP was the PERFECT person to ask about it.

    Yes I can:

I didn't have the time to evaluate your idea at all .

36 hours aren't enough for me to give you any answer if it is doable at all what you have in mind and how easy/hard this might be.

Let me elaborate: I have a family, friends, my daily job (that will start again tomorrow), and many other things that have a much, much higher priority than the DCS.

Don't get me wrong , but right now I'm even not able to answer if I'm able to help at all .

I even didn't read your original thread and I don't know what exactly is needed to simulate the functions of the "ROVER".

And I also don't think that this thread is the appropriate one to discuses your idea/request.

Maybe bump you original thread instead this one.

sorry if this isn't the answer you expected from me, but this is all that I can say up to now.

And have some patience, - you can't force someone to do some research for you.

  12.
