  1. As a follow up, Bull was used for aircraft in an air to ground config, Snake was A2A and we also used Viper for A2A. If a jet had the callsign Snake, it was usually a short mission, usually under an hour, 0.8 was common mission time, Viper indicated a longer A2A lasting usually 2.5 to 3 hours.
  2. I do have a track file. It's too large to attach. how best to provide it to you
  3. The cloud reflection's at sunset/night appear to be to bright in the Mariana's map. I flew at local sunset landed after sunset. Also when using F2 view after sunset at a low level was completely visible. It appeared to be a daylight view of the aircraft. Clouds were set at High Scattered 1, so there were more cloud reflections on the water than clouds.
  4. I was playing a single mission over the gulf in the F-16 and had to eject. I decided to not exit the game until after the pilot landed in the water. He promptly sank and died. With all the survival gear that a pilot has when he ejects, (should also be a life raft hanging about 25 feet below the pilot), a water landing should not result in the death of the pilot. I would like to see the pilot be able to survive most if not all water ejections. And if you look historically, some naval pilots have successfully ejected from a jet after it has hit the water.
  5. I'd like to see rain showers moving. I took off from Incirlik AB RNY 05 in rain. The rain ended about 5 miles north of the base. I had winds at 15 going south and nothing moved. I would like to see the rain moving with the wind, ie you sit waiting for a shower to pass before departing, or having to wait for a shower to pass in order to land.
  6. I agree with the need for more callsigns. My F-16 unit the 170FS had the call signs of Snake and Bull
  7. I'm failing IC due to this file. I've run the repairer program in DCS and still have the issue. Any advice on correcting this?
  8. I think the AI deck crew on the super carrier is awesome. How about a crew chief to marshal the jet out of parking? That would work for all jets, the Crew Chief up at the front of the jet and the assistant to the side to place/pull chocks etc.
  9. There isn't lose of battery power in flight I have tried to reset it, I can turn the knob but I've been unable to "pull" it
  10. Are the ILS frequencies/ approaches implemented on all the airports that have ILS approaches? Reason I'm asking I can't seem to get the ILS to work at McCarran airport with the F-16 but I can at like Sochi.
  11. It seems like after 15 min or so the backup horizon starts to tumble. I don't recall ever having an issue with it before, but now its very unstable. Any suggestions?
  12. I can't wait for the next update. Thanks for letting me provide you the sounds
  13. I just sent you several files, and I was mistaken you can hear the rattle from the back. It's been a few years since I actually worked the jet its self.
  14. you will hear the sound stronger at the intake. The 1st stage fan blades on the F110 fit "loosely" and the blades have halfway up "wings" the midspan shroud. So when the engine spools down to where there isn't enough centrifugal force to keep them in place, that's when the rattle starts from the midspan's clicking together. Tomorrow morning I'll be at the hush house for the start up and shut down of an engine. I'll also see about showing you a pic of the fan, I think there is an uninstalled fan on the floor. I don't think I've ever really heard the "rattle" on the aft side of the aircraft. It's a long way down the intake to the engine (I've hopped down quite a few intakes, it's a long ways down.
  15. We are installing a F110 in the house for running tomorrow so I'll see about capturing some audio. Now since it's being run in the house there are no JFS sounds. To start the engine they will use bleed air from a -60 that is running outside. But the sounds should be clear. Not only does the house suppress the sound inside from being extreme outside, it blocks all the sound from the outside.
  16. I can see if I can get you the sound. We no longer have F-16s but we are a repair center for the F110 engine and I can capture the sound of an engine spooling down in the Hush House. And it sounds pretty much the same as the L-39 spool down. And I'd say it's about the right amount of time.
  17. The shutdown sounds with the F14 update is awesome. I'd like to see the sounds of the 1st stage fan blades "clicking" during shutdown added to the F-16. It's a sound I'm well familiar with having been on the -16 flightline for 20 years.
  18. I have the new Thrustmaster F-16 Controller and I do have rudder pedals connected to the base. I did notice that a completely clean jet has no roll issues so it must be the TPOD
  19. I received the new Thrustmaster F-16 controller for my birthday last month and I really enjoy it. I was using the 16000 stick and throttle (still using the throttle). I had no issues with roll trim with the 16000 but with my new stick it seems like I'm always fighting a slow roll. Usually to the right that I can't trim out. I'm flying either an air to air load out with TGP and a pair of aim 9s and 120's with centerline fuel, or A/G Load with wing tanks and 120's on the wings and LGB's on the inner stations and the TGP. Now I know the TGP is on the right cheek, but isn't it close enough to the centerline that it wouldn't produce a tendency to roll to the right? And is the trim inputs so coarse that I can't trim for hands off? Thanks for any input
  20. I'd love to see the F model implemented with the awesome Pave Tac pod. I worked Es, Gs, Fs and EFs during my 4 years at Cannon AFB and the sheer power of those TF30 engines was always impressive and set every car alarm off in the parking lots during the morning and afternoon goes. Plus the modeling of the egress system would really be some cool eye candy. Annual egress training always showed vids of the egress system in operation and its various modes depending on speed and altitude. The modeling of the system itself just boggles my mind. Plus would the flotation devices be modeled, so the cockpit floats, and FYI there was a way of using the control stick as a water pump during an over the water ejection. A pilot friend of mine talked about being in Nellis one year flying the Thud, and the F111A was the new kid on the block. He said that he was moving fast and low, and an Aardvark just went cruising by like he was standing still!! I'm just starting out playing multiplayer when I get some free time, but the mission development with the addition of the Aardvark, especially if the EF is modeled, the possibilities are endless. Hey Heatblur I'm 58, hurry up!!! :))
  21. Who is using the DCS UFC App? Do you like it? What Android device are people using. I'm looking at the App, but I will need to get an android device, tablet, and before I take the plunge I'd like some advice Thanks
  22. Thanks for all the advice...now to find the time to put it into use
  23. So I understand that my target steerpoint will slew in conjunction with the targeting pod. And TMS down "resets" the view on the TGP forward. How do I "reset" the pod to the selected steerpoint? Such as SP5 is my target location and I can slew around after initial selection of that steerpoint but when I get "lost" tracking the area looking for targets, I try to fly out then do a 180 back and start over searching for targets, but then the HSD isn't showing the initial SP5 location but has been slaved to the pod. How do I get the pod back on my original SP? Thanks
  24. I've created two night LGB bombing missions and I'm having trouble placing the bombs on target. I'm point tracking on the pod, line up in CCRP and after release I turn away and begin lazing the target. The bombs go "dumb" and completely miss the target. I have no trouble hitting the target during the day, just at night. Also with the latested beta update, when I was doing several CCIP bombing runs, as soon as I hit the weapon release the fall line goes full over to the right side of the hud. As long as I hold my current course, the bombs when they release hit the designated target. Any advice? Thanks Pmedic548
  25. I'd be happy to provide a track file if I knew how to do one. Also I'm spawning on a parking spot, starting position is ramp cold start, and skill is player, or client. Thanks
