  1. Any update on when you plan on releasing??
  2. Hi all, I hope this post finds everyone well. I'm not really a big-time poster here on the forums, so apologies if this post is in the wrong area or not the right thread. With the pending releases of the Afghanistan and Iraq maps and the introduction of Global War on Terrorism ground unit participants (insurgents, insurgent-type vehicles, etc.), I wanted to offer my experiences as a USMC JTAC to any of those who are looking to get a more realistic experience with JTACs in their campaigns, missions, or even to Eagle Dynamics (who I'm sure have a long list of individuals with a wealth of knowledge regarding this topic). While DCS does an okay implementation of an AI JTAC, it leaves a lot to be desired. Ranging from Air Control Measures, actual communications and their meaning, the execution of the 12-step process for CAS, rotary wing 5-lines, to Gunship/Apache Call for Fire, I'd be more than happy to advise on the implementation of such unit types to get the highest level of immersion. Having completed my first campaigns (FIWOS and Debden Eagles Campaigns) and seeing how much room there is for customization and scripting, I think there could be a lot to explore with JTAC implementation within campaigns and missions. I'm sure there are more JTACs/TACPs/CCTs in the community that would also be willing to chime in, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling as I haven't found any sort of posts for advisement/implementation. In short, I'm here to help the DCS community get the most immersive experience when flying campaigns and missions. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Thank you for your time and happy flying!
  3. I'm going to try to delete the FX and metashaders tonight to see if that helps. Other than that, I'm not sure what to do. Hard to tell nowadays what is a remaining issue with the simulator vs an issue with my local system. Unlike other users, I tend to blame my system for the issue first and with the cloud pixelation issues, I'm still at that point :)
  4. I was just on this mission today and noticed how bad the clouds look in the distance. But I was in VR. Never noticed it before today. I never noticed it when playing on my screen, either. When on my screen, I have all settings maxed out, though. Not sure what it could be with VR. I'm going to continue testing if I have the issue via VD and Airlink. The VR cloud issue I mentioned previously was when I was using the Link cable.
  5. @Reflected Any troubleshooting tips for when your section lead doesn't taxi even after thumbs up? I'm on Mission 7, on open beta, and the Red section doesn't want to taxi when supposed to.
  6. Thanks for the information! I just finished Reflected's Beware Beware and am now trying to get my feet under me in this campaign, while still getting the aircraft figured out too. Thanks for the tips.
  7. Any recommended engine settings or speeds for cruising with the AI in formation? I'm trying to stick to keeping the engine nice and cool, but can't seem to get the RPM/Boost settings correct for cruising.
  8. Thanks for the campaign! That first mission is hard to see Even with the gamma all the way up! Can't believe they actually did that. I can't imagine what visibility was like for them.
  9. I’d agree with this approach as in almost any single engine, propeller driven aircraft (especially warbirds with some oomph) is going to have a rudder trim right with any sort of power input at all. This was my experience flying real prop planes as well (T-6b). It’s just physics. I’d rather make the small corrections of a plane trimmed for a cruising speed then the more drastic measures needed from taking it over at all things neutral. But that’s just my opinion. Good to know I’m in company with this.
  10. Reporting bug: In Create Fast Mission for the P-47, if you try to do a CAS mission, the JTAC frequency is always FM with no way to change it to AM.
  11. Good afternoon, DCSers, and I apologize if this is posted in the wrong spot. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences trim issues (regardless of aircraft) in missions in which you start airborne? For whatever reason, when I do the "Instant Action" missions that have the aircraft start airborne, the first 30 seconds of it i'm desperately trying to get the trim sorted out which is highly disadvantageous when doing the 1v1 and 2v1 dog fights that DCS has built into the Instant Actions. Not sure if it helps, but I'm flying the most recent beta (2.7 most up to date subversion) with a VKB Gunfighter stick, Virpil Mongoose throttle, and MFG Crosswind rudder. All controls have been calibrated with their respective software. Am I missing something within DCS itself? If I need to upload a Track or Tacview, let me know. Can anyone offer help? Thanks in advance, Zach
  12. All planes and maps. Most recently been using the P-47 and Channel map. I used to run VR with the Oculus Rift S with no issues. Got rid of the VR and now running into issues.
  13. I use MSI Afterburner for both GPU OC and overall computer monitoring. I use Intel Extreme Utility for the CPU OC. Even with I clear the OC on both GPU and CPU the game still has the freezing problem. What I do notice is that my RAM usage is maxed out when the game is running. I'm running 32g of Vengence DDR4 2400. Wonder if that could be a problem...
  14. Good afternoon, Gentlemen. This one has been driving me nuts and its time I've turned to the professionals for help. While flying missions with any map and any aircraft, the game seems to freeze for 3 or 4 seconds and then goes back to normal at about a 1-minute interval. It'll do this with any graphic setting, whether I'm OCing my graphics and CPU, all occasions. I can't seem to pin down the underlying factor. The game also will not crash so I can't attach a crash file log. I've turned off active monitoring on Windows Defender and there's no other protection software that could be running scans concurrently. My equipment: Computer: Alienware Aurora R5 Graphics: RTX 2080 Ti CPU: i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00Ghz 32g of RAM Game is loaded on dedicated Samsung 970 Evo SSD m.2, Any ideas? If you need more data, please let me know and I'll try to comply.
  15. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately all I dont even have the option to run command from that folder. Only powershell for some reason.
