  1. A friend of mine suggested running Flightpanels as administrator. That worked for me. I feel really stupid, but so happy I finally got this working.
  2. Trouble in space ArturDCS, thanks for making this great app. I bought my PZ55 years ago on the assumption I could rebind it easily. Weeks later, with much help from some AutoHotKey community members, I had modified a HID-handling AHK script that worked for all my DCS needs with the panel. But it wasn't nearly as pretty as your solution =) I've revisited the switch panel issue now that I'm playing Elite: Dangerous. I read posts from other players that your app allowed them to use the switch in game. and https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=32562 But I'm not seeing the same results. The log window continues to record switch changes while I'm in-game, but I see no results from my keybinds. I'm using simple keybinds like "g" for landing gear and "l" for lights so as not to overly complicate the keystrokes while troubleshooting. I'm using the "None" profile and turned off the "Check for Digital Combat Simulator" option and I've tried both keybd_event() and SendInput() modes. Things work great on the desktop with Notepad and such, but in the game I get no key responses from the switch. I am not using DCS-BIOS because it seems like that is purely to get lights working and other DCS-specific things. Do you have any idea how I could troubleshoot this?
  3. All extremely helpful comments. I had no idea about the difference in durability with static ground objects-- yes I am playing the Shooting Range mission here. LastRifleRound, I appreciate the explanation of the spiral effect. I hadn't yet realized that the spiral improved with more distance. Also, I did have the Ground Moving Target switch enabled even though the actual vehicles were stationary. Does this produce a negative effect on stationary targets? I've been enabling it for any ground targets, regardless of mobility. Are there any easy indicators to tell if a target is dead if you missed all the fireworks that may or may not have occured? I found myself launching all my Vikhrs at various targets on the range and I lost track of which ones should've been dead or not. Will the Shkval not lock (TA symbol) if the target is already out of commission? I noticed that happening, but wasn't sure if it was due to me screwing something up or due to the target being already dead. I noticed that during the combat training tutorial, the enemies all had blue text labels above their positions on the field. Whenever one exploded, the label would disappear. This was an easy way to tell if they were a lump of rubble or still a threat. I was unable to get the text labels to appear in the Shooting Range, even after fiddling with designating target markers on the ABRIS. I got markers to appear, but no text labels on the enemies. BTW, sorry this all looks so smushed together. I use whitespace to separate my thoughts in the reply editor, but it doesn't carry over to the post =/ you guys seem to be putting lots of white space in your posts just fine. lol I'm a bit lost with that....
  4. I understand the annihilation bit-- my post was all in reference to tanks... I think it was T-55s used in the tutorial. I've never had problems blowing up the thinskins. I definitely haven't been paying attention to the orientation of the target, though. That sounds like it may be the culprit for me. Also, I'm always looking for an explosion to verify that the target is no longer a threat. Is this always going to be the case, or is there ever a time when I may hit a tank and it's no longer a threat but it never produces an explosion? Thanks!
  5. I've been practicing my combat skills lately, and noticed that many times I can fire up to 4 laser-guided missiles at a target, watch it spiral in to my target, explode, and leave the vehicle remaining there seemingly unscathed. I'm not quite sure why this is. Sometimes it appears that my missile could have been spiraling around so much that it struck the ground, prior to hitting my target. Other times it looks like a dead hit, but nothing as much as smoke ever arises from my target. I did notice that sometimes targets explode after a significant delay, but other times I never see an explosion at all. I tried re-watching the combat training tutorial and noticed that the instructor did the same exact thing when lining up on the 4 tanks at the beginning. The second tank he struck never exploded at all and remained a threat. Following the tutorial, I took control and lined up 2 more guided missiles on it before it finally exploded. Is there anything obvious I could be doing wrong? I know I'm in range (usually firing around 2.5km, but I know the range is something like 8km anyway). I know I'm at a reasonable height, and usually firing from standstill. Everything looks normal until I realize that the vehicle I hit is usually still intact and still a threat. Could it have anything to do with my target bracket size? I've tried super small brackets right in the middle of the tank, and I've tried larger brackets that auto-size around the tank to fit it. None of it really seems to produce significant results. What kind of experience does everyone else have with this?
  6. I'm not sure I understand this. I thought the whole point of trim was to fix any extraneous axis movement in order to keep the bird steady while the cyclic is centered. Why is it useful to hold it every time you go to provide input?
  7. Hi all, I've noticed that sometimes my mouse scroll wheel acts to zoom my camera into whatever I'm looking at. Other times, it's used to rotate whatever cockpit knob my cursor is on top of, but it never does both at the same time, and I'm unable to figure out how it switches between zoom/knob-rotate modes. Any clues? Thanks!
  8. Thanks for answering this one, I was having the same exact problem. It's pretty anti-intuitive not to expect ALL actual re-mappable options to be included in the ALL filter. Took me several hours of searching around to sort this one out -_- While we're at it, does anyone know how to interpret all the various funny axis/slider (e.g. JOY_FX, JOY_RX...) names with respect to the X52 Pro? I'm wondering if there's a way to map my hat switch to Absolute SHKVAL horizontal/vertical slews. Also, is there any way to adjust x/y/z (pitch/roll/yaw) trims individually via any of the knobs on this thing? The lone trim button is a bit of an odd concept to me... I think I'd have an easier time trimming each axis.
