  1. Sorry bud forgot to come back to thank you for the input. Turned out be tired and old GPU so bought a new one. Thanks for the input
  2. Hi all! My DCS crashes if I run my GPU at base clock. I have to underclock my GPU by at least 80mhz and then it'll run fine. Only DCS causes this behaviour. Any other game I can run my GPU overclocked fine. Aurous 1080ti xtreme HTC Vive PD 1.3 X2 MSAA Low settings in everything bar textures at medium. Affects ST and MT Anyone encountered this and have a fix, or explanation?
  3. Howdy DCS-er's! I have about 800 hours in the Hornet but am VERY much out of practice. Looking for anyone EU based for the occasional ad-hoc multiplayer sessions to get back into it. Don't mind if you're relatively new to DCS or the Hornet, have experience teaching players everything from formation flying to combat techniques. Give me a shout if it interests you or you are already in an informal group that doesn't mine me tagging along sometimes!

  4. Fantastic idea! I hope ED mull this one over a bit more
  5. Hi ED, With ground crew being an area that's going to be worked on, would it be feasible to implement arm-disarm pads for airfields, FOB's and FARP's? Whether they are set locations on airfields, or users can place them in the mission editor? This would add another degree of realism and tie into the ground crew functionality you are currently working on. It could also be selected as a tick box in missions if Arm-Disarm Pads are required or not. It would mean players would need to taxi to the pads prior to departure to have their weapons armed, and safe any unused weapons on return to an aerodrome. It would be great if scripting and animations occurred where ground crew approach and arm the weapons, but I appreciate this would be a rather intensive task; it could just entail groundcrew taxing you onto the pad, instructing you to hold, your weapons are armed, and they simply shoo you on your merry way. EOR pads could be implemented as well, but I don't think there's much of an argument or game improving mechanic for them. Interested on your thoughts on this, and if there's any interest from the community to adding this. Appreciate this is niche, but thought it would make a cool little game mechanic considering DCS World's realism aims. 6. Hi TrueGrit, One of the primary tasks of the Eurofighter for many of the air forces that use this aircraft is air policing (QRA/scramble/alert). This gives a good scope of missions that users can make, in intercepting aircraft entering a region's ADIZ. DCS modules have a special tab in the mission editor for any specification/options for the aircraft e.g. armour & heat shields on helis, rocket pod single/ripple. Is it possible to have a "Scramble" tick box option in this special tab when placing the Eurofighter in the mission editor, so the aircraft can be set ready to go (e.g. GPS/INS already aligned) as per real life for any aircraft on scramble tasking? This is obviously different to the "hot start" option already in DCS as QRA aircraft aren't sitting with the engines on ready to scramble. Interested to see if this is possible? I understand the harrier module has an option for ground crew to have pre-aligned the nav system already, so I thought this could be possible to do? Many thanks, and looking forward to more news on this beast!
  7. Hi Bud. Yes I have, I delete them prior to every update as a matter of course. Dunx; tell me about it. I really can't put up with it anymore. DCS is totally unplayable for me now as it's messing with my vision. I'm thinking of getting a refund for the Supercarrier module and the spitfire I recently bough as I'm not really going to be playing until this is fixed. It's such an obvious and awful bug that's really unconformable and screws with your head, I cannot understand why this isn't one of the priorities to fix right now.
  8. Hi all, Using an HTC Vive, the headset only renders all clouds, smoke and shadows on one eye, and the other renders less or none. It is really off putting and I cannot fly with clouds as it makes my eyes go funny having different clouds rendered in different eyes. Has anyone got a fix for this or is it one of the bugs ED will get round to "fixing" at some point? It is completely ruining the game for me now and I can't put up with it any longer  I cant understand how this isn't a priority bug fix as it is so obvious when playing.
  9. Hiya folks, I'm in a group of real world aviators, that fly the hornet in DCS. We fly training missions in areas such as formation flying, AAR, pop-up bombing, Air Interception and more. All to create a group that's operating in the same way, in the same language, using real world procedures, so missions are conducted precisely and lethally. One of our members has created a very impressive and advanced IADS script as well, called Skynet, that is becoming very popular with the DCS community. If you would like to join, send me a message stating your current ability in the hornet. Newbies and pros all welcome. Coranthia
  10. 500gb Like I said, all the pdf doc's being downloaded are all corrupted which halts the installation. I'm forcing it to download but it stops whenever a pdf is downloaded. Only DCS is doing this. No other download is causing this problem
  11. It's whats being downloaded causing the issue. ED, attached log of this if it helps content_log.txt
  12. The error is the pdf files being downloaded are corrupted. It's only dcs doing this
  13. Hi Ed, I went to download open beta but I'm getting disk writing errors when downloading any version of DCS on steam. It stops with an error stating "DISK WRITING ERROR". Checked the steam content_log.txt and it stops downloading DCS due to failing to write chunk in file for all the pdf flight manuals. I went to the downloading file for steam and checked the pdf manuals and they are all corrupted and can't be opened. It's preventing me from downloading dcs.
  14. Hi all! Now, is there a way of getting AAR working? When in multiplayer only one can refuel at a time most of the time, the drogue is either invisible, or you clip though the basket like it isn't there. Tried switching between lead or wingman requesting rejoin first, requesting pre-contact first, switching the drogue you go for, but seems hit and miss on if it works or not. Is there a trick to it to get it working? Is it a desync issue? Seems to work sometimes but mostly not.
  15. Aw sweet! I can get 6 spawned cold and dark on the ramp without any file edits. Always thought 4 was the limit
  16. Hi all, Wondered if this has been added or I just happened upon it by accident. If by accident, surprised no-one else discovered it (haven't seen any other threads on it). In ramp spawn it's 4 on the street in think it's called? But if you strategically place static aircraft, you can get clients to spawn on elevators. Is this common knowledge?
  17. No egress is basically telling you what your approach heading is. It isn't mission specific or setup by a mission creator. The JTAC AI (like real-world JTAC's) automatically computes the safest approach to avoid blue on blue, that also ensures your ordnance has a clear run to the target and doesn't hit a hill, tree or house
  18. Hiya folks, I'd like to do some flights with one or two other hornet drivers as I'm not willing to go into a community squadron as of yet getting into large scale operations. Likely simple things like training flights with A/A refueling and carrier landing's, strike missions, CAS, CAP, navigation practice, radio comms etc. I'm competent at most aspects e.g. Case I, II, III landings, aerial refueling, formation flying, weapons etc. Is there anyone of a similar ability wanting to do some sortie's with just a few drivers involved? Be a case of making straight forward missions in the editor and so we could decide what type of missions or training flights to do. I'm UK based.
  19. As per your post, JTAC did give you approach heading. "Egress East". You leave via an eastern heading, so your approach to the target is towards the east, coming from the west. This is done by JTAC's to ensure your ordnance has a clear vector to target to avoid terrain or ground clutter, and prevent blue on blue from ordnance falling short or long. You would never, especially in danger close, fly over the target AND friendly unit's when dropping anything. You'll be given the abort command if you report IP inbound from a direction not given by the JTAC
  20. Carrier map limit Apologies if this has been answered, couldn't find anything on this. The only map where a carrier can be used (carrier couldn't enter caucasus) is the gulf. In reality, a strike group would never enter the strait as the risks would be too high. If you place a carrier just outside the map grid, would this cause any issues or bugs e.g. Nav points, tacan, false bearing readings etc?
  21. Looking to add a border to prevent you from straying too close to SAM's. I guess it may only be possible by editing the texture file for the HSI map? Is there a way of selecting which map, via scripting, will appear on an aircraft's HSI?
  22. New to using the editor so not sure on its limitations or capabilities. Is there a way to add a border, i.e. airspace border, that will appear on the F10 and on aircraft HSI's in the form of a solid red line? Example use is to avoid entering a no-fly zone or crossing into another countries airspace and the border appearing on the HSI and F10 map.
