TMR Functions not working (TOT/TTT/CS-T) ( STILL BEING MADE)
WH_Boomer replied to Shrike88's topic in Resolved Bugs
Been wondering about this myself. Guess we’re in the minority of folks who care about the details.. :geek: -
How to activate Black Shark2 DLC on steam
WH_Boomer replied to sfajardo's topic in Payment and Activation
So does anyone care to share how they got the BS2 Upgrade to work on Steam? I purchased it in the store here in 2011. All my other modules have installed, including the original Blackshark, but the BS2 serial number comes up as invalid. -
+1 It's been the same with every release, that's why I don't bother posting on here, some of the "testers" always seem to take it as a personal affront if someone else posts a bug. And then there is the matter of this whole thread. Someone points out an issue and the hounds get unleashed to the point that the video is now removed from public view. Is that really how ED fans want to be seen? As the playground bullies.

The only thing you missed here sir is the level of fan boi'ism that surrounds all things in the DCS universe. Having worked on UH-1's and UH-60's in the Army, and now still working on helicopters, 25 years later, as has been mentioned, things just aren't quite right yet. So how's the AI door gunners working now? I think I saw they were on strike or something and wouldn't fire on their own.

Its 2013 ... Really!!! Is that all???? DCS Performance
WH_Boomer replied to Nume Noctre's topic in Chit-Chat
This post explains EDGE better than any other I've read on here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1553547&postcount=7 -
I'm only 37 pages into this thread, but want to quote this, because I know for a fact that there are several people I fly with that feel the same way but don't post here. They simply vote with their wallets. I've bought every product from the original LockOn through the P-51, some of them more than one copy to host a server before DCS: World. CA and P-51 are installed, but I've only ever been in either specifically once or twice. I was a little upset when we had to buy Blackshark a second time to have it compatible with DCS: World. I was a little more upset with buying Flaming Cliffs 3 for the same reason. But I did it to support ED. But enough is enough. I'll wait for true DCS level simulation, thank you very much. Until then the BMS crowd is getting bigger and bigger.

Nope Bristow (used to be Air Logistics) here, in Galliano, LA. I've been with the company for 17 years this fall. I've known a few guys from PHI over the years though. It is a small world after all.

Another helicopter mechanic here. S-92, S-76A/C+/C++, AW-139, EC-135, Bell 407, Bell 206, are all in our current stable in the GOM. Previous experience includes the above plus, BO-105, AS-335, and of course my first love the UH-60A. Any of you other helicopter folks work for Bristow or Cougar?

~S~ I've used a free program called Jing to record desktop action for videos. It records into a Flash (*.SWF) format, so you might need to convert it to an avi or mpeg to use in your editor of choice. Jing website: http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html And a video I made setting up Teamspeak Whispers using this program. Hope this helps,

Would that be the update after 1.2, because its still in there. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91330 ~S~ WH_Boomer

BlackShark Radios versus Warthog Radios - frequency ranges
WH_Boomer replied to VTJS17_Fire's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Is there an updated version of TARS that allows this? The War Hawks are currently using TARS version 1.0.1 beta 11 and can only see 35.650 on the R-828 regardless of channel selection. Thanks, -
DCS Multiplayer message removal Mod
WH_Boomer replied to Eddie's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Is this one different than the one Speed wrote back during the beta? I have used his since day one. Speed's mod thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=67420 Just wondering? -
The problem from the original thread: Yep we still are having a similar issue. When we first start up our server, it shows in the Internet List. After some period of time, I think after someone has connected and then disconnects, the server disappears from the Internet list but does still show in History for anyone who has previously been in the server since we use a static IP. Direct connect works for our members that, for whatever reason, don't have it in their History list. Ells228 replied that it might be fixed with 1.09 and asked to post back if it was fixed. Which I did, saying it was not fixed. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68223&page=4 The confusion on my part comes from your reply directly under mine that you had a similar issue and had fixed it. I was thinking the issue you had was the same as mine and others in that thread,, my bad..
-
Not a new issue, see my post in the thread from last Spring From page 4 of that thread, I thought your issue was resolved Dragon? We've had the same issue since day one, along with the full screen vs windowed screen issue of disappearing names in the plane selection screen. (Full screen all names are visible, windowed screen they disappear when they take a plane slot)
-
Same here,, because the CDU isn't being exported to where it should be. If you look closely, the CDU is being exported, in my case to the top left corner of the main screen. This is after using the monitor config tool provided with IControl DCS, to verify the patch didn't change the positioning. I haven't had time to investigate further, but will soon.

So you use one of the many airfield reference guides to get field elevation, ie. Tbilisi is 1528' Then adjust altitude to match. Taadaa,, QNH.. Which is most commonly used by US pilots.

Dynamic Campaign Discussion Thread
WH_Boomer replied to winchesterdelta1's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I think Speed said it best so I'll quote him here as well. So if I "kill another tank" then it won't be available in the next mission. A key element in a Dynamic Campaign is the ability to keep your toys available while attriting your enemy. -
Server hosts: Why do you lock your servers?
WH_Boomer replied to MadTommy's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
We'd be glad to do so once this issue is addressed: Server disappears from list but is still available in History I'm sure there are more people than just us who have a similar problem, which would explain the low number of visible servers at any given time. -
Where to find a Squadron for A-10 and maybe other Sims?
WH_Boomer replied to fiveohmike's topic in Multiplayer
~S~ FiveOhMike, The best place to find a squadron would be to check out some of squadrons websites in the Squadron Directory thread above. That list is pretty old but most of the active squadrons do keep their information updated. For example, the War Hawks recruiting post in that thread. ~S~ Good luck on finding exactly what you're looking for, -
+1 for Cibit The War Hawks run our server for our members, due in large part to the above quote. We have an extensive training program in order to get our members all flying to at least a minimum skill level. We also use TARS during our scheduled missions, and prior to launch we typically have a 15 minute or so briefing to get radio frequency and tasking info to the participants. Some people don't have time for this, and prefer to simply jump into a server, fly around lone wolf style and blow up as much stuff as they can in as little time as possible which is fine, there is plenty of room in the DCS world for all kinds. That just doesn't fit with what the War Hawks were founded on, and our missions typically will last anywhere from 3 to 6 hours from ramp start to ramp shutdown. Respectfully submitted,

So does this mean there is the possibility that there is more fixes for multiplayer than: Primarily all of the server side only functions, such as JTAC communications, A-A TACAN, etc. I know the demographics you guys operate on shows the multiplayer is a small part of the community, but certainly not one than can be ignored for an extended period. Stuff that worked in beta but doesn't now should be a priority I would think. Just my humble opinion, thanks for all the work you guys do get done.
-
Yep, we've pretty much given up on trying air refueling, but most of the issues seem to be for clients only. Not just refueling, but JTAC, comms, etc, all seem to work in some sort or another for the server, but since we have a dedicated server, that doesn't do us a whole lot of good. So we stick to sorties limited to three hours or less. TOLD mission planner is your friend
-
+1 Here's to hoping 1.0.9 gives the multiplayer crowd some much needed love. Thanks for all that is fixed though.

~S~ all, The War Hawks are currently recruiting all skill levels for a variety of sims. We are currently supporting of DCS:A-10C, of course, along with Rise of Flight and IL-2:1946 with the HSFX mod pack. We also have several members who enjoy DCS:Blackshark, FC 2.0, and a few of us have started flying Cliffs of Dover. (But we are waiting on the official North American release before committing to a scheduled event for this sim) Check out the links in my sig for cockpit trainers we have released along with our recruiting post in the thread EtherealN linked to. Hope to hear from you soon,

Excellent work around Furia! +1 to you sir!
