  1. I can 100% confirm that behaviour. Master Mode to ground && ASP to bombing and I can select pylon 3-4, but as soon as I switch the ASP back to shooting it freezes. Didn't have much time to chek but it seems that on my shadow pc it works with the same open beta version. But I have to recheck that first EDIT: I have no idea if it makes sense but after deleting my fxo & metashaders folder it seems to work now. I don't know if it solved the problem. I will have an eye on it later. EDIT: Still happening
  2. I am also having some sim freezes when loading S-24A or S-24B rockets. Just when selecting their pylon 3-4 DCS stops working. It occurs on two multiplayer server with engines running. Singleplayer seems to be fine.
  3. Hey guys, I recently bought the MIG21 and I am enjoying it so far. Instead of opening a new thread I wanted to ask if you could review my problem. Also related to the wrong missile being fired. Loadout Outer pylon 3-4: R-3R Radar guided Inner pylon 1-2: 2xR-60M Situation I am behind the enemy aircraft with a Radar Lock. I want to fire 2x R-60M. Setup Master Mode in Air, missile mode to IR (CC), ASP Mode: Missile + Shooting + Auto + Gyro (also tested with CC). Pylon selected 1-2. First Run after Cold&Dark Everything works as it should. 2x R-60Ms out, rtb and reload. Second Run after reloading with same settings Locking an enemy aircraft and now the Radar gives me the red markings for launch authorization. Though I have the inner pylons selected and the missile mode is still on IR (CC) not SAHR. The aircraft would fire the R-3Rs now instead of the R-60M. "Troubleshooting" Turning the missile mode to SAHR and back to IR and everything works like the first run again. My question: Is it a small bug related to the reloading process or is it accurate? Thanks in advance Julian
  4. Thank you! Haven't ound that one. Looks like filtering is the only option.
  5. Hey guys, I couldn't find any official comment about it: Is it correct that Datalink Track Targets and System Targets are looking identical? Thanks in advance Julian
  6. Hey Dan thank you for that input and Happy new Year! One small question couldn't we just also take p0=1013.25 HPa and eliminate h0, so we just have to enter the altitude of the target? Edit: The difference in heights and using p0 as starting qfe seems to be more practical, but I just want to make sure I understood the formular correctly :D
  7. Oh okay then I was looking for the wrong keywords, sorry for that!
  8. Hey there, I hope there isn't already a topic about it. At least I was not able to find one. Would it be possible to walk around the aircraft with the Pilot? I mean after ejecting you can somewhat move your pilot. Regarding the incredible amount of details and the (for me) not so perfect Free camera it would be awesome If we had the chance to do something like an exterior check. Even if the walkaround radius is limited for your aircraft. Surely something at the very end of the priority list, but it would be awesome if something like that was possible :D Greetings
  9. Hey guys, When launching the missile in Multiplayer and PP-Mode from 50-60NM it becomes invisible (F6 - View and it does not show up on F10 map) after some time and will not react to any input even though a video signal is received. If I for example launch it from about 20NM it works like it should. Did some of you have the same issue? Or do I operate it wrong? Thanks in advance!
  10. Yeah and as far as I can see there should be a second way to leave that mode: the S1_Press
  11. There are actually 2 ways to bind it: Hotas friendly as you only have two clicks - not working for me MASTER MODE SWITCH NEXT MASTER MODE SWITCH PREV "Original" Bindings (1, 2, 7 on Keyboard) - working for me T1_NAV T1_AA_INTC T1_AG EDIT: These are not the exact names of the bindings but you can find them with "T1"
  12. Yes that's working for me as well. I am just unsure if that S1_PRESS is also functional or if I got the diagram wrong
  13. Hey guys, I really enjoy that JF-17 thanks for that! But there is a question regarding the ACM Mode. I can leave ACM via the 3-way Master Mode Switch but according to the HOTAS Diagram I should be able to use S1_Press to return to the previus mode. For example I am in NAV Mode and I press S1_FWD to enter ACM. Now I want to leave and press S1_Press but nothing happens. Did I get something wrong or is it a "bug"?
  14. @Spiceman Thank you very much for the information! :) @Rabbisaur I have that problem too, usually when quickstarting on a carrier and/or landing. According to another topic there are many possible problems big magnetic anomalies for example a carrier wrong alignment so the DG has an initally wrong calibrated north in theory the MAD should only be asked for the north only in level flight but if you fly for too long in a small bank the DG will slave to a slightly wrong MAD input the MAD seems to be vulnerable to wrong values in high AOA So I guess it might be the high AOA when performing a landing leading to a wrong MAD output which is slaving the DG into the wrong direction. I personally turn the compass control to DG before landing (on a carrier). As I said my english is bad so I suggest you read the thread by yourself, maybe you can gain more information from it and even correct me if I understood something wrong :D https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=238390 On Page 2
  15. Hey guys, there is a topic in the bug report section about it, but as it's not a bug I hope it's okay if I open a thread here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am not quite sure if I understood the AHRS system and compass control system correctly. It would be awesome if you could review my thoughts on it and correct me if needed. :) I wanna start with the sensors: MAD - Magnetic Azimuth Detector More or less a simple compass showing the magnetic north of the earth with all it's weakspots, such like vulnerable to magnectic anomalies, errenous values in extreme attitude and so on. DG - Directional Gyro This should be a spinning gyro which is due to it's cardan suspension and angular momentum mostly unaffected by any change of direction / attitude. Unlike the gyrocompass the DG is not able to seek the north of the earth, therefore you need to turn the BDHI rose where the north is assumed (compared to the MAD). In civil aviation the BDHI / DG has to be compared and calibrated every ~15min due to friction of the DG system and earth rotation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay I hope the basics are correct so far. Now I want to transfer it to the F14 Compass Control: Mode Switch: COMP The system reads the magnetic azimuth detector only. That mode is pretty easy to understand and well described in the manual. Mode Switch: DG The system reads only the DG reference. That means: The north has to be calibrated manually with the HDG knob and once set it may be affected by friction and earth rotation. (?) Mode Switch: SLAVED The system reads the DG reference which is automatically and continuously calibrated by the MAD readings. So no need to calibrate the DG manually. That process should be pretty slow and happens only in level flight to avoid errenous readings. My question here is: The HDG button in SLAVED mode is used to synch as well. Is the only difference here that it happens much faster? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This pretty much looks like a tutorial but due to my lack of english skills it was easier to formulate. It would be pretty awesome if some of you can give me a feedback if I understood the system correctly. Thanks in advance Julian :)
  16. Hey guys, I also found out that I have a big offset when spawning on a carrier. Unforunetly my english isn't that good so I couldn't understand all of that very technical part a few posts earlier. So after a carrier departure is it right that I just have to fly level and push that HDG SYNCH button until the white line is in the middle? So no need to use the other compass mode? I still have a ~6° offset from the F10 Map Course but I think that's a difference between magnetical north and true north (?). Thanks in advance greetings Julian
  17. Hey guys, I am quite confused now so for example I am straight approaching the runway: In the hornet I would trim to AOA and move the flightpath vector via throttle input. In the viper I would put the flightpath vector to the treshold with stick inputs and then reduce the throttle. When approaching the AOA 11 marker I would increase the throttle a bit to keep it there. Simultaneously adjusting the flightpath marker with the joystic input Is that the correct way to do it?
  18. So here it is IMPORTANT: I messed up the video capture tool OBS, the first part is where I try to lock the target with the BORE Mode without any radar lock and no HMCS. I found out that everything works like it should with HMCS but if I try to do it without it only within my HUD vision the lock isn't working. The second part, where I wanted to show the ACM lock, is messed up, it's not very important as it works like expected. Unfortunetly I could only provide a picture of what I mean (the diamond is locked to the target). https://youtu.be/e45Zt7hntt4 I hope you can see it, it's not public only via URL
  19. I would say the Hornet is easier to learn, but you have to learn more stuff. You have many tutorials and documentation for the F18 which helps you a lot. I also think it's somehow easier as the systems are working "together" and the workflow is mostly common. It's hard to descibe but I think it's actually harder to dive into the plane when some systems aren't implemented yet. You have to ask yourself "Is it WIP / is it a bug / is it a pilot error" if something isn't working. I hope you can understand me :D EDIT: Regarding the controls it is very hard to tell which one is easier to fly. There is a difference, but not a very big one I would say.
  20. I just saw this has been marked as unable to reproduce, I will upload a video shortly EDIT: This is gonna need some time. 48 Seconds duration and uploading veery slow
  21. Hey guys, first I want to thank ED for that awesome bird! I didn't find this issue mentioned here yet so I really hope it's not a duplicate. I was playing around in the DGFGT Mode, got my AIM9 in COOL with BORE and according to the manual I have to aim for the target and as soon as I hear the growling sound I press UNCAGE on my throttle and the seeker looks for the target within that small BORE-Circle. It seems I never can get the diamond to follow the target in BORE, not in DGFGT / MSL OVERRIDE / Default AA. I get the high pitch tone and if I fire it, it will hit, but the diamond is not following the target, it's just pointing straight ahead when uncaging. Could that be a bug or am I missing some detail? When using the SLAVE mode with the target designated in any ACM mode, the AIM9 weapon diamond will follow the target (it's uncaged automatically if I remember right) as supposed to be. Greetings Julian
  22. Alright then I am gonna try it that way. I mean it makes it kind of more exciting :D
  23. Hey guys, were you successfull with this? I have tried it and I can slew the TGP to Boresight and turn it around and I can use Point / Area track but it won't lock to it. The CCRP Line is on the left of my HUD and there are no rellease information
