Are there any plans on making the images of the cockpit displays available via export.lua? Since the game has to be played in windowed mode if you want it to display them on separate monitors, I would like to be able to extract the images and display them with my own programs on separate monitors. My thought is having three large monitors/projectors for the world view and three small monitors for MFD's and CDU displays. I am using a Radeon HD5870 with six outputs. /Niclas

How's it going Christian? Have you tested the servo card mod?
-
I never thought of that. Simple and perfect solution!

Thank you!

Triplehead2Go with ATi cards is a no go. I have three 1680x1050 displays that I used with a GeForce 8800 GTS. When I upgraded to a Radeon HD 5870, it didn't support 5040x1050 that my Triplehead2Go-setup needed. I was forced to stop using the TH2GO and buy a Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity Edition with six monitor outputs instead.

Hi, How do they do in real life when performing a fast pop-up attack? You need to hold the trim button to steer the helicopter, while simultaneously steering and locking the Shkval quickly. Unfortunately, all these buttons happen to be on the stick. How is it supposed to be done?

I love it! Absolutely amazing! Now for a really cold shower.

Oh, I'm sorry! The blog is now at http://brydling.blogg.se and are not updated at the moment. I'm in the middle of my examination project so my time is dedicated to that right now. The servo mod is done, and I have sent one to Oakes. I don't know if he has tested it yet.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

There are now at least. I can't see this sub-hunter as a $$$-bringer for ED. They would need to start modeling submarines and the underwater environment for this bird to be of any use. A waste of time in my opinion. -

What I would want to see before any type of new flyable aircraft after DCS: A-10C is general feature updates that adds to the realism of all aircraft. For example updated ground AI with collidable trees that aren't invisible to them. Also I would like to see some features like player flight controllers at airbases and integrated radio comms based on frequencies and modulation type (some aircraft that I know of at least can choose between AM and FM, and it would be nice to have that modeled). If I fall in deep coma and really start dreaming, I would really want to have the spherical earth modeled with possibility to add your own ground scenery. Also a player controlled AWACS would be nice before really starting to create fighters. Player controlled ground vehicles is another dream. Not vehicle by vehicle of course, but maybe you could control like a SAM site or something. I think that it would really add to the realism of the pilots when the enemy AAA/SAM's would be able of playing evil games with them like real ones. Now if I die while in my coma and come to heaven, I am sure they will have a dynamic campaign up there ;) -

My all-time favourite, so of course I want it ;) My first simulator ever was F/A-18 Korea for Mac :) However an F-16 would be just as cool for home-cockpit building. -

That will never happen. Sweden sucks when it comes to information about old military aircraft. The Draken is not in use in any country of the world anymore, yet it is still very classified. It is simply too expensive to go through the administrative process of declassifing everything for no reason. Same goes for the Viggen, however that is more understandable since it is newer. We are building one Draken simulator and one Viggen simulator out of real sawed-off cockpits obtained when they were going to the junkyard, and even we are having a hard time finding information when we want to model the systems in our simulators. Of course it gets a little bit easier when you have a network of contacts both inside Saab and inside the Air Force. However, I would die in happiness if we got a DCS: J35J Draken. -

I meant he shouldn't have told me that ED will reveal the next project after the FC2 release :) -

Now I won't be able to sleep tonight. You shouldn't have told me ;) -
Ok :) Sorry for starting an off-topic discussion.

Follow-up question then.. Are the range of the smoke rockets significantly larger than that of regular rockets? Otherwise, why shoot a smoke rocket if you already are in range for killing the target yourself?
-
Smoke rockets? I didn't know we could equip the Ka-50 with that :) I thought you meant that we should fly over a target and drop a smoke shell, which sounded stupid in my ears since if you're already flying over the target you could drop a bomb instead :) Now I understand.
-
What is the point of flying the Ka-50 over a target and dropping a smoke shell instead of directly destroying the target yourself? I bet some reason exists since you are suggesting it, but I can't figure it out? With buddy lasing you can at least hover at a safe distance and light up the target while something faster and less vulnerable to AAA/SAM's do the actual bombing.

Oh my god, now you are making me excited. Please consider accurate modeling of range vs weather & visibility and such things.

Oakes, I don't know if I am able to answer your PM's. I get no items in "Sent objects" after submitting them. Have you received the messages?

Ok. It sounds like there is something wrong with your specific card. I am running Windows 7 on all my machines right now, but I have never tested a stock servo-card under it. My modified card runs fine under W7 though, and I think the stock cards should do that too. I just finished the last touch of the code and the board works great. Different servos have different pulse width-intervals and I can only guarantee that my card uses a smaller interval than the stock cards. It will probably not be the exact interval of your servo if I don't calibrate the parameters for that specific servo, which I unfortunately can't do since I don't own one. Probably you will either lose some resolution (but not as much as with the stock card) or, if my interval is smaller than the one of your servo, you will lose some movement out in the edges. If we assume the best and you get 50 more values to play with, I don't know how much of a difference it will make since I don't have good enough servos at home to take advantage of better resolution. If you have PIC-programming equipment at home we can always play around with the values and make them fit your specific servo, this is what I will do with my own cards. I won't take any money for this since I don't know if it's worth paying for yet. If you don't have any programming equipment and want to test it anyway I can send you the parts you need for the cost of the parts themselves + shipping.
-
We have never experienced this exact problem. Have you tried it on a different computer and confirmed the same behaviour? I changed one thing in my code two days ago, and haven't tested it yet. I will test it right after dinner and report back. For what interval does your servo respond?
-
Nice! Are you using a stepper motor?
-
The missile needs to ride the beam all the way. I can't answer your second question.

Hi, I am planning to buy an LCD-screen for the ABRIS and a CRT-monitor for the Shkval. What are the sizes of the real things? A guess about the ABRIS is 10.2" 16:9-format? /Niclas
