  1. Once I feel like I have a good handle on it, I may write up a new checklist that assumes a familarity with the process. Now that I'm just learning to deal with the Ka-50, I hope that preparing and studying a detailed checklist will help me to familiarize myself not just with the Ka-50, but with more basic aviation tasks and principles (like how electrical systems work, and how the engines are related to other things, like power settings, oil and hydraulics, etc.). I've set up this checklist so that when I, say, increase the power setting, I can see what effect an action has on other parts of the helo.
  2. :book:Wouldn't it be nice if we had a sticky thread for user-created resources, like checklists, keyboard shortcuts, training videos, etc.? Well, I started a thread for the checklist I'm working on (basically my first forum post/contribution ever), and I don't know if it's against the rules or what, but during the course of putting it together I began culling other resources from the forum that had some relation to what I was doing. I made a list of them and added their URLs. I've been basically treating the original post in my thread as a mini website, where I update the checklist file attachment as I go, and I add any new resources I've come across. But how about something official? Who can make that happen? I guess that the ideal place would be a web link, where all of the documents could be neatly organized, but maybe a forum administrator could start a thread and maintain it with user-created contributions? I'm afraid I don't know too much about the inner workings of forums. I've read many posts from resource-searching forum members, not to mention the silent forum-guest masses. And, not for nothing, a resource sticky would be so much easier for the more knowledgable, question-answering genius's among us (who know a heck of a lot more about this simulator than I do) to say, "Have you checked out So-And-So's checklist in the Resource Sticky Thread? It has pictures and I think that'd help show you what I mean." -hilikusopus http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42692&highlight=checklist
  3. For those of you looking for startup checklists, I've collected a couple good ones, along with some supplementary goodies (like a great training video. Here's the thread link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42692 Hope this stuff helps, hilikusopus
  4. Awesome! And great training video too!
  5. Hello:), (PDF files attached, at bottom. - I'm also including MS Word versions, so if you'd like to edit them in your own ways, it's a bit easier to do that. Both checklists, "with" and "without notes", brought up to final v2.0) EDIT: NEW The Checklist: I've now created what can be considered a proper checklist. That is, one without notes. Since I've been getting the hang of it, I've decided to promote myself! So, I used the original version with notes to create an abreviated version. It has the same content as the original, step by step, but is meant to be concise and lacks the detailed explanatory notes embedded into the original. Better suited to a more advanced user. Both files are attached, at bottom. The Checklist with Notes: This is my first real post, and I've decided to celebrate it with a bang. I've put together a detailed pre-flight startup checklist, with explanatory notes. Most of the information comes from the manual, forums, and the official training videos (especially Fabio Miguez's, posted in DCS's download section - p.s. I believe Mr. Miguez plans to offer a collection of videos and checklists for a nominal fee, fabiomiguez@gmail.com). I've added numerous procedural ammendments and notes of my own; some are superficial, while some further elaborate on a topic. Hope you find it useful. I encourage comments or suggestions for improvement, especially of a technical nature. As far as I know these checks are standard, but please help me to make it more realistic, and all-around better. Thanks! Here's some other user-created resources that I've appreciated: For those of you looking for Fabio Miguez's Checklist: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42223&highlight=checklist+training For those of you looking for AlphaOneSix's Checklist: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?...6&postcount=65 For those of you looking for SDeath's Checklist: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35571&highlight=checklist For those of you looking for DaWu's Checklist (it has pictures!): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35120&highlight=checklist For those of you looking for Mapi's Illustraded keyboard shortcut guide: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=37827&highlight=keyguide For those of you looking for Fabio Miquez's Excellent "Leading Edge Training" Video: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=133&scr=products&lang=en For those of you looking for Fabio Miguez's Tooltip File (which adds keyboard shortcuts to all cockpit tooltips for switches and buttons): http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36660&highlight=keyboard+shortcut Cheers* Sincerely, hilikusopus (Andrew) P.S. Please show Fabio support via the thread above, encouraging him to march on with his training video project! Changelog Edit: 6/26/09 - Version 2.0 Two very minor aesthetic changes, not worth updating version number. This should be the final iteration. Both versions (with and without notes) available in PDF and MS Word. MyChecklist 2.0.pdf MyChecklist Notes 2.0.pdf MyChecklist 2.0.doc MyChecklist Notes 2.0.doc
  6. Boberro, Perhaps you could politely point out any inaccuracies to me, and I'll make any necessary changes for you. :) I refrained from turning the document into a PDF, for the very reason that you point out about text formating and pictures. This way, you can edit the checklist yourself, as well as format it to suit your personal preference (which only takes a few clicks). -hilikusopus
  7. Hello:), I'm using this poll to gauge the response to my checklist and to make improvements. I reposted the checklist here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=706049#post706049 It's multiple choice, so you can select several answers appropriately. Do so, have some. Cheers* Sincerely, hilikusopus (Andrew)
  8. I love the tutorial. It's logical, clear, and gives great explanations (especially with regard to conducting certain tests). I'd be interested in buying a collection of tutorials. I'm a noob and need all the help I can get! Again, great job!
