Ty. Always wondered what that button did

Flight director you say? I know the trim has enraged me. I've been training on strafing runs and couldn't use rockets because I'm fighting the AP the whole run. I could flip my gun to fixed and hold down the trim button and squeeze the trigger at the same time, but my weapon release button won't allow me to hold trim at the same time. Outta curiosity where's the FD switch and where do I set it? On an unrelated subject I'm having a problem firing missiles. I have to set my weapons to manual. I'm locking target, using auto rotate, laser is on, but I just cannot get that c unless I'm in manual. Oh and I can't hit anything at close range (<1KM) but I'm guessing that's just the missile. At range I hit fairly often.
