Hey folks! (I posted this in the Vaicom area but posted here so I get alerted if responded to) I am kinda new to the whole voice recognition via DCS. To be honest, I am kinda wondering why I have gone down this rabbit hole... I digress lol... Right now I am having a complete difference in interpretations from 2 different pieces of software. Cortana seems to understand me when I say certain phrases, and Voice attack does not. For instance, I say "power" in VA and it thinks "tower" but I click on Cortana and she hears power. I have done a lot of various attempts of honing in the speech. I have done the MS speech recognition read out louds multiple times. added the words to dictionary, even checked back and forth with the VRFX or whatever. While VRFX is a little better, Cortana is always dead on. Voice attack never works like Cortana. All end results seem to be inconsistent. Sometimes Chief hears my cries for power every time. turn off computer turn on and everything is whacky and different. Thanks Fang

Disregard. THREE times a charm. To my great surprise after a 3rd install, my engines started up, and controls released. Now seeing how it is SUPPOSED to work I see that the previously installed versions were doing some really weird things... Anyway Very excited to add this module to my collection. Folks this is still stuck. I am at training missions and it is still telling me to center my controls but they do not move either through keyboard presses vr gloves etc. I tried everything. I do not think this has anything to do with hydro's, switches, etc. I am 95% certain this module is broken on my pc. I own almost all the modules and nothing performs like this. She is fine when started. But during colds start I cannot do the manual because the controls are not moving. IE Manual = "Center Collective" OK. But it doesn't move. As pictured I have been doing this as per manual from the start but I am still nowhere. The training will not progress passed maybe the 3rd screen. Again. Pictured I've been sitting on the tarmac far too long now and I might need some help as to filing this as an official problem. To be straight honest, I'm not sure I'm going to want this module if I have no way of starting the chopper. If you do not believe me, or cannot resist the urge to tell a pilot/aviation student ironically holding an AAS in electrical instrumentation to read the manual, don't bother typing. Sorry for that, I just have to Pre shoot down "RTFM" zombies Now I did try the option to have the HOTAS synced and it makes no difference any other way. Kinda sucks, as I always do I bought a campaign or 2 for this and now its looking like a broken mod :cry: Oh. Also tried reinstall

I do have that checked. The fans were not working during instant action when the mi-8 is already flying and warm. Gonna try an uncheck to see if that helps the training mission.

Negative, I cannot get to that point. Its ALMOST like I am not assigned to the plane, but the cockpit clicks. I'm kinda wondering if there is something wrong with this module, I also cannot turn on the fans in my instant action missions. I have not read the manual granted (Still studying the Hornet) but I found the switch above your head and the fan never turns on. Kinda wondering if this is a bad install? Sucks, I kinda depend on those training missions to pound info into my brain.

Happy weekend friendly friends, I am having an issue with the mi-8 coldstart training mission. For some reason, all my controls are frozen. The cockpit is still clickable but the joystick and collective do not move. If I go into a instant action, or other mission, everything is fine. I go back into coldstart, they are frozen. I figured maybe digital wires were getting crossed between sim and game profiles so I set both controls and still nothing. Still other missions seem fine, however I have only tried maybe 2 others. What is this? Fang

I bought Supercarrier... Now what? Hey guys, Like many of you, I bought the Supercarrier. I just want to know when I should start seeing something different. I thought there was some early access stuff, I just do not see it. I heard in another forum it takes 2 months for early access modules to show up, is that true? I really cannot wait to start seeing the supercarrier in action! Fang

Thanks BIGNEWY! I appreciate that. I hope they change their minds and see the issue I had but I am not holding my breath. I truly love our DCS community and I LOVE the ED modules. I just feel like a kid who was promised icecream all day. I was good all day, and as the day went on I watched that end of day icecream cone get bigger and bigger! They added the Mig Sprinkles and the M2000 chocalate chips! Than right as I took my first bite it got taken away. Sigh.. Anyway, Happy Holidays to our friends in Russia Fang

Folks! I'm noticing some people are not reading the post correctly. The kind words are very welcomed, but the "Its not a big deal" and "the sale ended" are not. Kinda not your day or money to say that right? The sale had not ended. It was still Jan 5th. Everything but the response from ED happened Jan 5th If ED sees it another way there is nothing I can do obviously. I have screenshots of this and was pretty specific giving an exact time on my side. I also had no idea when it ended and if I had known it was the last day I would of obviously bought the 3 modules I knew I wanted and already CARTED, in the morning. Again: The sale had not ended, I just trusted ED would fix the order, especially becuase i could not add certain ED module/s (MI-8 nav addon panel) due to a known issue of the "buy"/"add to cart" not being available for the Mi8. I say it is a known becuase I have written to them before about it in the past. Anyway, to the rest who understand and read the problem, thanks for the kind words. This has been a learning experience, and certainly has changed where my focus of sim investing is going for 2020. I may headout to IL-2 land for awhile, get the bad taste out of my mouth. As said before, its not a complaint post, but I am a real pilot and a student, time is short, and when I spend a day researching the modules/learning aircraft I didnt ultimately get its a giant waste. Especially for those of us who stream what we do in DCS online and have a plan to what they purchase. None the less, to me wasted time and opportunity on a day that was supposed to be "fun" and "relaxing" is a negative experience. Especially when I had troubles with a known ED store website issue. Not blaming anyone, just stating the real. Perhaps some may think its dramatic, and rightfully so, but for me wasted time is a nightmare. Some may get it. Some may not. I've said my peace. Friendly friends, I'm posting this not as a complaint, but more as a message in a bottle I am hoping will reach someone helpful. I am new o DCS, and in the short time I have been around I have amassed quite a few modules. Yesterday I recieved a last minute gift from family to get a few more modules. Naturally I spent thr ENTIRE day with the Grim Reapers, figuring out what I should do. I already knew I wanted the M2000, MI-8 and a Mig 19. I then decided to get the other Mig as well. As I went to the FINAL purchase screen the prices showed full price! (I was also having issues adding the MI-8 Navigation window, It showed the sale, but when I go to add it to cart I have no "Buy" button). No problem I thought, I took a screenshot and sent the order to ED and waited with my cart still open. And waited. And then just now I got a message from ED saying something along lines of "sorry the sale ends Jan 5 Europe time. Bye" (I forgot to mention the sale "ended" at some weird time like 11:19!!?? my time) I dont even think anyone looked at my screenshot, and I really cannot believe that ED would toss me aside like that. So I am putting it here, PRAYING someone might actually wish to look into this. Fang

This seems to have started working randomly. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I may have viewed a track before finishing (end game), but I cannot confirm that either. At the end of the mission my score showed 100 and I have been stuck for a LOOONG time. I am new to DCS, so I am not sure if viewing a record track then accomplishing the mission halts progress. At some point I started using a track record and play back to finish the missions. These missions start with low fuel (another issue?) so the track kept me from having to constantly fuel in between attempts. Resuming control after refuel was done. Still, I am pretty sure it had been accomplished as well without using track. I progressed, but I am unsure why.

Hello friendly Friend, The button to save the campaign and move on at debrief is not there. Even when the debrief shows "100"

Hey folks. I have accrued at least 30+ hrs on Mission 13 "Destroy Reinforcement". I have seen this mission turn out every way it can. My last mission I destroyed 100% of the convey. Destroyed 3 out of 4 F-5s (Wingman destroyed the 4th). I got a "100" in debrief however this mission will not progress. Despite the mission accomplished, I am repeatedly only offered the "fly again" button. I am frankly horrendously sick of this mission now and I NEED to move on. Is there some bug with this? Is there some way of editing something so I can simply move on with my life? Please, or can someone send me a game save for mission 14. I am ocd and usually would need to have this mission beaten by ME...However, there is no getting passed this mission. This is the 4th time I passed and have been left behind. Please help Fang

Don't give up - keep training, maybe just the campaign missions are not the best time spent for this goal :thumbup: Thanks all, I'm actually still trying to get past those F-16s. I'm gonna take a look at the link. I have done training, to the point now that I feel it's best to put into practice what has been learned (and not learned). This tactic is helping me learn the tricks to get me through. Sadly the mission is still clobbering me. I am trying to evade via notching and ecm flicker. Well, anything else I can come up with. Hello folks, Again I write you from frustration city. I cannot do mission 4 in Sea Dragons. I cannot get passed the 2 F16s. I've spent days on this. They shoot me and my wingman down and all our missiles miss. Once in a while I get a kill or 2, but 14 outta 15 times we just get creamed. Dodgeing. ECM. CRAZY amount of missiles launched and yet they dodge them like an F-22. Missiles fired from all ranges. VARIOUS missile types I tried. The Aim 120's are nearly inescapable. What's frustrating is I see a video of someone doing this mission and they barely move. All of their missiles are making contact. If I were to do what he does in the video I would get clobbered. I'm getting clobbered anyway. I can jink wildly the whole time or stay locked on. It makes less than zero difference. Again, I had no idea F-16s had this great and amazing jinky stealth. Why the hell would we ever need F-35s? The damn F-16 in DCS is an untouchable UFO from another planet!! Is this broken!!?? Please tell me yes so I can skip this and feel better. Fang

OK. I do not know how to set inlets to 10 or 15, but turning them off seems to take out the randomness. There is a definite difference disabling the inlet covers.

Thanks all. I'm gonna a try your suggestions, see if it works. If not I am gonna try patch. I slept on it, feeling like I was over reacting. Got into Sim and straight into water. I did not mess with inlets yet, gonna try that. If not it maybe is addressed in that patch Rudel supplied. There is simply no way this was how the mission was initially intended. Hey guys, I am on like mission (4?) on SeaDragons SU-33. I am a month new in DCS although I have a ton of sim and real world experience. My issue is as follows; My carrier takeoffs are simply based on luck. I do not know why. Yes I am sure of this and I've been testing this. I'm looking at at least 1 out of 8 takeoffs going straight in the water. I follow the training, I follow manuals. I activate "extra brakes" and burners. There is literally no difference. I can track my inputs, basically doing the exact same process and randomly I take off. But I have done nothing different. The next attempt, same inputs. STRAIGHT IN THE WATER. There is nothing, literally nothing I am doing differently. I have flown overweight aircraft, and this flight modeling acts like I am trying to throw a brick into orbit. I do have a slight chuckle at the thought of the SU family being so "heavy"(?) in real life. Like how many SUs are lying in the bottom of the ocean just from failed takeoffs? At least 50% of their entire fleet, if my DCS experience is even close to being accurate. The pilot farted on takeoff and he dropped like a stone! Even the training I end up getting like a 1 outta 5 if not worse successfull takoffs. Like there isn't much of a checklist to screw up here. Throttle brakes pullback. Yet it feels like I am entering a super sensitive cheat code in Mortal Combat or something. I even checked to make sure all input device are free and correct/not interfering with eachother. When I do takeoff, there is no satisfaction, it is literally the feeling of "Oh. It let me takeoff this time." At this point I am hoping there is a mod or some kind of editing I can do to stop this. I am sick of taking my preflight so serious only to drop in the ocean like a rock. Reset. Crash. Reset. Crash. Reset. Ooh I caught air and took off! What did I do differently?... Nothing!... Now I can do the mission!. Oops. Shotdown. Reset... Fang

Sorry I forgot to update. The newer version works, connected no problem. I had issues clearing out the error log in DCSPanels due to administration rights in Windows (Apparently my computer controls me, not the other way around). I cleared the DCSpanel error by renaming the original log and creating a blank notepad saved under the the correct errorlog name.

Thank you for your reply Ian! I am gonna try that today and see what happens. I really appreciate your understanding, it definitely makes a new user feel welcomed! I know about bad timing let me tell you... lol. When they released the F-16 it happen to coincided with my paycheck and a sale so I decided to make the big leap to DCS. I have been most recently doing Il-2, but I always knew I would be making this my 2nd primary sim. All that being said, good user mods and no responses in the forum have been my biggest fear. So far the DCS community hasn't let me down Thank you so much for adding to the sim community!

Hello I am brand new to DCS and DCS Bios. I have been using DCS Panels for my Saitek on IL-2 but it does not work for DCS. DCS Panels cannot find DCS BIOS. So install DCS BIOS I go to the Wepage. My DCS install is there however some of my modules are not.
