I don't want to create another topic for my question.

Does Jester make callouts or check during carrier landing? In carrier landing tutorial mission he makes "check-list" (wings, gears, flaps, etc.).

Every time I make an approach in Case I single missions Jester is deadly silent, only commenting wire/bolter. Is it correct?

The RIO is not supposed to read out the landing checklist. The pilot will read the relevant items out loud via the intercomm and the RIO will just check them (e.g. looking at the wings and confirming they are indeed foward) without saying anything unless of course something is off, like the wings not being forward.

It used to say 180 which REALLY showcases the bug.

here it is around 30 left which was about right since the bandit needed to turn about 30 deg left to be nose on to me.

maybe it’s not as exact, but being it used to read 180 or close to it before when he was head on, I’d say that’s an improvement

Bandit bearing is 030 in your case, reciprocal is 210, if the bandit is headed 215 as you say his TA should be LT5 not LT35, thats a big difference if you are trying to run an intercept.

  3. Its loaded client-side, meaning it controlls your spawning in MP, not the server-side .lua file. The server-side .lua controls any AI spawning otoh. So if you join a server where everybody else has the stock routes file, you will spawn according to your custom runways and routes file while everybody else will spawn as usual (had this happen to me once accidentially when I forgot to put the stock file back before joining our server and was surprised to spawn on the bow).

  4. There are two different things to consider: Hook-to-eye distance (i.e. the vertical offset of the glidepath indication to compenste for the vertical distance between hook touch-down point and pilot's POV) , which is aircraft specific and glideslope angle, which is the same for all aircraft (but can be adjusted depending on WOD).

Now the hook-to-eye distance is indeed set for the Hornet right now, but its not so much of a problem. If you fly a centered ball, you may catch the two instead of the three wire, hence try to flying a little high in the wires if you really want that three wire.

The glideslope angle is correct for both the ball and ICLS (they dont match 100%, but they also dont IRL, always use the ball as soon as you can see it and disregard anything else) . ACLS however gives you a too shallow angle, making you come in too low at the 3/4 mile.

Next round will be only for those who show up on TS to grab the password for the server. The good old way of organising events/tournaments, etc.

Thats a good idea, looking forward to that!

Would the C-130 work as a refueler?

    The KC-130 will do yes

  6. It felt a little less organized and more air-quakey this time since we did not have GCI in the first few hours and when we did have one, our Hawkeyes were gone. Not critizing here since this is something out of control of the mission designer and I should've gotten in touch with the other fighters more actively.

Overall progress for blue was better than last time but I guess this was in part owed to the fact that red didnt have any mig-29s.

There were several instances of TK and TK attempts by a known offender. My personal 'encounter' when he fired two PH at me from about 15nm, a range at which he easily could've VIDed me with his TCS (not to mention Jester calling out 'friendly') . After I luckily drove his missiles into the water he went on into the merge with me and I really thought about pulling the trigger on him after getting on his six but didn't. Anyway, I think this guy deserves a ban since he really doesnt care about anything except shooting whatever he sees.

Btw I noticed the blue Tanker was a KC-135 (non drogue version), could this be changed so we can refuel on our way back to the boat?

Oh and kudos to that mig-21 who forced an overshoot on me, too bad you went into the drink, I'd have loved to continue the turnfight!

  7. This function only changes threat display priority. As long as nothing locks you up, you wont see any difference (except in friendly). If there are two radars locking you (e.g a SAM and a fighter) the RWR will prioritize the lock/launch warning accordingly to show either the SAM or the fighter radar.

  8. I saw this from the F10 view. He ripple fired 3 sidewinders at a mig-21 that was chasing another Tomcat. Two sidewinders hit the mig, the third went for an F-5 that was in the mix. Didnt look like intentional TK but poor judgement.

  9. That MP carrierspawn logic is beyond me. At one point I remember you could not spawn in a Tomcat if there were 1-2 other aircraft on the deck. They have fixed that with the last patch AFAIK but you can still end up hitting the guy next to you when spawning. I'm sure you can spawn 6 Tomcats at once but the more you spawn the more likely it becomes that something goes wrong (collision, delayed/no spawn). On a less important note, different versions of Tomcats never operated from the same carrier at the same time IRL.
